Well my 32 GTR is on the hoist, and about to under go a full overhaul

new motor is built, just a set of CP forged piston's and some Nismo rod's, Tomei sump baffle, Kelford cam's, OS giken cam gear's,

OS giken twin plate clutch and moly flywheel, still need to decide ona fuel rail and injector size

Have removed engine and box, also complete front suspention and x-member, and have stripped to engine bay of everything,

and it's in bare metal ready for a little bit of seam welding here and there, then it's paint time have picked a colour but i not letting

the cat out of the bag on that one....

here are a few pic's,

Hey zoidbergmerc yeah its a 26 out of a 94 model Vspec1 but it had the longer crank in it and i just got a basic budget reco (as budget as you can anyway) but its basically got Ross forged pistons, nitto rods, ACL bearings, oil restrictors, external oil drain, hi octane sump extension, basic head reco with heavy duty valve springs for poncams later on etc. Really just a full refresh with no heavy machining or over the top parts. I figured if i went all out on it and something went wrong then i would'nt have the money to do it again so i just tried to get away with as much as possible while fixing the factory probs and making it more reliable. I mean nissan knew what they were doing and stock these engines are capable of decent power so with a few new bits it should do what i want for as long as i want well hopefully anyway lol. I would get some pics up but im really struggling to do that ive got them off my iphone and onto picasa3 but i cant seem to get them onto SAU so if anyones got any tips they'd be much appreciated.

Hey mate, where did u get ur engine work done? Wot power r u hoping to make? And wot fuel system r u running?

Hey I pulled the engine out myself but my mate works at Tas Engine Reco in Hobart so they did all the work. I'm putting Garrett -5s on it so I'm hoping for around 340-380kw obviously closer to 380 would be better lol but I guess it all depends on the tuner it should be good for 400 in theory but you know how things vary. As for fuel system I haven't got anything sorted out yet but I have removed all my hicas stuff apart from the hard lines from the front to back and I've heard something about converting them to fuel feed lines cause they're bigger than the factory ones or something like that but I'll work it out. Other than that just a decent intank feeding a surge tank with an external feeding the injectors havent looked at any brands yet. My mate got I think it's siemens injectors in a kit with a rail reg and lines pretty cheap through his work on his 25 and they seem to do the job well. So I'll probably go with those. But really at the moment just a saving game lol. It's true GTR owners are all poor aren't they lol.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
