Where do you see Top Gear? 5th Gear is on the lifestyle channel on foxtel. Or at least it was, it hasn't been on lately. I've heard a lot about Top Gear, but never actually seen it.

I'll download it if I have to but is it on any channel on Foxtel or Free-to-air?

5th Gear can be a bit boring sometimes but the last one I saw was good. Had Porsche vs. Porsche and Lamborgini Gallardo vs. Ducati. The crash tests are usually good as well. I think the boring parts are usually the non-performance stuff. Like when they road tested different fuel efficient cars, or some bloody people-mover.

Top gear is on BBC World on foxtel but at random times. It's also a heavily cut down version of the one the BBC shows in the UK.

I watch Top Gear by downloading the full length episodes from usenet.

I already posted this on the Arial Atom thread, but for Top Gear fans Final Gear have some classic Top Gear episodes (1989-90) for download if you're interested.

Yeah ive been going throught them. Very interesting to see the old reviews... 1990 episode 7 - Tiff Needle gets show how to do the scandinavian flick in a rally car - this may be the first epsiode where tiff learns to go side ways... and now look at him... all he does is go sideways.

Also in the season of fifth gear episode 2 tiff drives a williams f1... man he was nervous and excited

Bring on more topgear and fifth gear

Funny - Im currently downloading and watching Top Gear episodes from 1989 and 1990. Im hoping ill run across a 1989 episode where they review the R32 GTR...

It seems to be more looking at auctions, car tips etc and then there is reviewing of the cars... it would be very interesting to see what they thought back then.

Episodes 3 is up.

It will be interesting to see if Clarkson's back holds up for the next season as by the end of the last he could hardly walk!!

What about the car 5th gear give away as prizes everyweek?? They are damn nice, and the answer to the multiply answer questions is always the same for the whole season :)

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
