51jay
Skyline King has made a tentative offer to organise a Dyno Day Probably on the Gold Coast. I know from expearience with these forums that a lot of people will probably express interest. What i'd like to know, and probably Skyline King too, is how many would actually turn up for it on the day. For starters.....I am interested.....and I WILL turn up on the day Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/921-queensland-dyno-day/ Share on other sites

Zer0
I'd need to know date & cost. As long as I don't have anything else on and the cost isn't ridiculous I WILL be there. Want to see how my car goes with new mods. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/921-queensland-dyno-day/#findComment-19849 Share on other sites

Mud
I've never done this before, but is it hard to get a low car with a low front bar up onto a dyno? If there's no problems then I'm in. DAMQIK GTS-T
The Front isnt the problem. Its the back of the car as the driving wheels dip down as the dyno rollers set lower then ground my exhaust system just missed from hitting ( mines lowered an inch or so ) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/921-queensland-dyno-day/#findComment-20198 Share on other sites

NismoGirl
They all sound good but you forgot a catergory for my car.. "Slowest Skyline" Sounds good. I dont think it really matters if other cars are invited to come along. It will probably be bigger with more cars than just skylines australia! BOOSTMEISTER
Hi Dude, I organised a dyno day a short while back and it went pretty well. Here are the categories I used. 4 cyl upto 2l 4 cyl 2l and up 6 cyl 2l 6 cyl 2l and up Rotory Eight I imagine you will get more cars than I did because of your location (I am in Toowoomba) so more categories may be needed. Please don't take this as critisism but there are a couple of things wrong with your categories. 1. "STOCK" - How can you be sure the car IS stock, some cars will have mods that can't be seen. 2. "Light Mods" - What is considered Light mods? You will have many problems with people who say that sos and so hs more mods and so and so has less mods, you don't need the hassle of people arguing about who should be in what category. 3. "Heavy Mods" - Again, how can you determine who has what, some people will say I have x x x x mods then when they turn up they have more or less than they said so it will screw up your planning... Basically as the organiser you don't need the hassle on the day as you will have heaps to do as it is. The categories I would suggest for your even would be. 4 cyl upto 2l Turbo (Starlets. CA Silvia's etc) 4 cyl 2l and up Turbo (SR Silvia's, TX3's etc) 4 cyl 2l and up N/A 6 cyl 2l Turbo (RB20 Skylines) 6 cyl above 2l Turbo (GTR, Supra etc) 6 cyl above 2l N/A Rotary Turbo Rotary N/A Eight Automatic (You need a different category for Auto's as they can't be dyno'd in the same gear as the others) Sounds good and I can't wait. Will you be using shoot out software? We used this to keep in line with Summernats etc so people know that they have been dynoed all with the same settings per category. Just trying to help, if you want to know more about our day just ask. dAVE
well i dont think it should be open to just anyone.. only by special invite by sau members. If we are going to have club events, we have to make them more exclusive so it is actually worth being a member. on another note, skyline king - do you sell different lengths of pre cut and bent pipes and silicon joins? dAVE
also forgot to say, i know some ppl on the coast who write for papers in the motoring section, so if it was going to be a good day i will try and get someone along to see what car enthusiasts get up to on the weekend.. it would be good for SAU and subzero. Guest Boxhead
i agree with pete smith on the exclusive thing... it should only be a SAU members day... however i think that it shouldnt matter which of there own cars the bring... as long as yoru a member.. $50 i am there for that price... just put a date down.. but not sunday... any other day but sundya ok Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/921-queensland-dyno-day/#findComment-21373 Share on other sites
Guest Boxhead
oh and im curious on why are we having little comps??? like i thought the idea of a dyno is just to see how your car has improved, what level it is.. sort of like a 1/4 mile on the track, your only racing the clock( or dyno in this case) soryr guys, i dont want comps coz i know myn will loose, nismo girl, my car will beat yours to slowest skyline... since i have a n/a rb20...
