Called up Vicroads a week ago and paid for N1NE11 to go on a friends Porsche 911. Just got a call now saying the plates are deemed inappropriate due to Sept 11 bombings. Pretty stupid if you ask me.

Dont remember saying I was selling.

A plate is only worth what somebody is willing to pay.

I am very attached to my N1SMO and R1GTR plates, plus afew others I have coming.

I dont need to sell, plus ELV1S will be good for me.

LONG LIVE THE KING.

Whats stupid Paul,I dont need to sell these plates,if someone wants them they can pm me,ELV1S will be going on ebay,as will some of the footy ones,I'm only posting up car related ones (besides ELV1S).

The reason I have not put prices on these is I dont believe a forum is the best place to sell plates,as most of us are still modifying our cars, but if someone is interested,pm me.

I'm planning on owning all 3 GTR's,hence the ammount of Nissan related plates :)

Here's some more STUPID plates, just for you :)

The guy that bought R32/R33 and R34 GTR I am told spent around 25K on different plates as an investment :)

how stupid

Got more plates today.I did some research and found that ELV1S spelt that way, sold for 75,000 pounds in England and ELV11S sold for 45,000 pounds.

Still think its stupid? :(

Now thats some serious Elvis love

That may be the case and I know of several higher than that but in the UK we cannot buy a custom plate that has much variation for a flat rate like you can here. Private plates have a proper market of their own like used cars that I havent seen here. ELV11S would have been standard issue and working roughly in years it would have been the late 70's.

The less letters and numbers, the more cost. I believe the highest if not one of the highest was CK1 which was on a jag. OAS1S was also very high and bought by the drummer of Oasis in the late nineties.

Sure you might get a bit more but people can think again and get a fancy plate for $500.

Got more plates today.I've covered my costs with my non car specific plates,so if anyone wants any of the plates I've displayed in this thread,pm me.

I've given the F100 plates to my mate, alot of the others are available.

yep still think its stupid

I agree with you paul. People that would pay soo much for plates have more money than brains. Even though i have a custom plate i dont go crazy and order 1000 plates in order to sell it. jeez.

    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
    • Pull codes via the self-diagnosis procedure. As far as I can tell this is just a sign of transmission issues but not a code unto itself.
    • Hi All, putting the engine back together and everything is perfect except have this plug left over.. any ideas what it is for and where it goes? Is on cold side under the intake plenum *note not a stock plug, as everything has been modified Cheers
