Hey ya'll,

I had an R33 NA for 6 months, then i just recently sold it and bought another R33, but its a GTST :(

So im kinda new to turbo and whats good and bad, i understand the principal, but anything beyond that, im still learning.

I have the stock plump back BOV and i am wanting to upgrade to something after maket. I have read the thread about ATMOS are GAY.

I would like to find out for myself, see if it really does get annoying. LOL

I was looking on ebay and say these. Im just wondering are they super shit, or decent?

- This one

- This one

- And this one

Give me your thoughts guys... I want something that makes a noise, but not soemhting that makes the car shudder like some have said...

LOL

The Apoxi blow off smart from brotec is the better of those I have seen and very well priced.

How much are brotec's?

Are all those ones on ebay cheap sh!t?

- Also blitz, was that a typo "apoxi"? or is that really the brand.

Cheers,

apoxi is the type of brotec he's talking about. it's similar to the apexi ones, but not a copy as such, it actually has some improvments over the genuine apexi stuff.

personally i've had some troubles with the brotec stuff over the years, but that's probably more installation related as their quality can't be faulted. I had heard they were now at sportamotive as prior to that they just operated out of the back of a truck (much like the snap-on tools guys do).

Anyway, i'd certainly give it a go. In fact i've got a pic of one here:

have you had a look in the for sale section? there are usually a few BOV's here and there...

I have a blitz supersound BOV.. it came on my 32gtst when it came over from JP.. it's used in conjunction with the stock BOV (and sounds good)... But I'm getting really over "phhhs" sound...

if you are being serious, then no, they aren't. Maximum noise generally points to a bad thing, meaning they are attention seaker BOV's which are designed just for that, maximum noise. You can hear the stocker pretty well if you have a POD and a FMIC.

If this is a pisstake, then all you need to do to make them one better is attach a duck caller to the trumpet of one of them or a soccer refferree's whistle and you'll be set.

    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!!  I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s.  I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones.  Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
