LOL.. just came back from there.. good food :)

big p00f drag racers all running off at a hint of rain :)

Good to meet you guys today :P, lets do it again some time (the drag day not the wet bbq)

Big poof drag racers? That's a bit harsh, init?I thought it was the officialdom that canned the day for all & sundry...even those of us trackday nutters that drove 3 hours to watch a different type of motorsport that still involves our favorite brand/s of car. So...anyone else feel ripped off that not another drop fell AFTER the day was postponed?!?

:P

you missed lunch Jase

Yep,I couldn't get near a 'puter 'till just earlier...Stoopid me for leaving earlier :( ! Still,I'm assuming I also missed a whole day of racing, had it gone ahead. Whilst a trackday would've gone ahead,no matter the conditions,it's a a right royal pain in the proverbial that the powers that be canned todays' meeting. Still,I"ll probably still do six hours return drive to watch 'Lines hurl themselves down the strip at WSID! Who made the call anyway? I know it's more Mother Nature's fault, but it's gotta suck being the person that canned a day that didn't receive a drop after it was pulled...meh;bring on the next day!! :D

Yes Duncan the following comments are directed towards you.....

Maybe it was pulled by people who didn't travel 6hrs to be here, or book 2 nights in hotel to attend. Or, hang on maybe they didn't have a car to run.....or don't even "race". Ahh well WSID cancelled a points round of the National Champs to make a day for us to run.....good call......didn't even get a phone call for cancellation....or a call to join a bbq for lunch...... its late and im hungry......can't you tell!!

Nice one Paul.

1. The day was cancelled so that every entrant would not lose their money.

2. If even one car ran the organisers charged us full price.

3. Even a light shower means the track is unavailable to be used for between 1 and 2 hours.

4. No-one on the SAU committee is a weather specialist, we had to decide on whjat we could see

5. While you may have a 10 second car there were some quick cars as well particularly the 9 or even 8 second rotors and there was serious concern from the track about their ability to pull up in a braking area with standing water when running 10" wide slicks.

6. Despite there being 50 paid entrants, you personally were contacted a number of times by a number of people once the decision was made to minimise the impact on an out of towner.

Feel free to organise a dust garage drag day and take the financial risk yourself if you don't like how the SAU committee did it.

Adam and the rest of the team put an enourmous amount of effort into organising this day, and the fact that we have cancelled mean we have even more work to organise the next one with organising ppl who could not make this and had to drop out, the waiting list etc etc. And comments like yours really motivate people to organise events in their volunteered time.

Feel free to prove me wrong by spending your time to organise an event that doesn't interest you like a track day.

at the end of the day your always going to step on someones toes by canning an event or running an event when the weather is like it was..... i am sure people would have had something to say had the event been run and then cancelled due to a few light showers through out the day.... we should all be greatful that the SAU crew are willing and able to organise events like this for us all to enjoy, even if the weather doesnt make it easy

hahaha Duncan.....its a trash talk thread

Wise decision was made in the end to suit all people, and always grateful of the work Adam/Bu5ter put in to organise these days. That does not mean i cant be upset and put out by the decision made...does it?

Silly name calling (dust garage) is very childish and pathetic.....but typical of you.

    • Thanks Dose.....    I appreciate it!!
    • I'll probably be putting the shit box back on the dyno again soon, I want to dial in the closed loop boost control properly. I'll have a camera facing the car/motor for fun too. Just note, there are essentially 3x 10AN inlets going into the catch can and 1x going back to the intake pipe. Most of the time the catch can "return" to the sump actually is the crank case breather, pushing air out.
    • I have the R3C with a Nismo slave and by no means does it behave like a stocker, it ain’t THAT bad. On take off just give a bit more throttle than you would say a coppermix and it’s fine. It will not slip though.
    • Okay. Final round of testing done. Got a friend to hook up a fancy scanner to the car and we also ran some compression and leakdown tests, she is healthy.  The MAF was definitely the culprit. So for future reference anyone with similar issues that find this thread. I suggest the following steps, in order of affordability:   Check your spark plugs for any fouling, replace plugs if they are bad or re adjust the gaps making it narrower (0.8mm would be good). Check every coil's resistance with a multimeter. It can be done by probing the IB and G pins on the coil pack. Resistance should be around 1.4 (+/- 0.1) Ohms Check the MAF. If you have Nissan connect or a good scanner with the 14 adapter it should allow you to see the voltage on the MAF reading should be around 1.1 - 1.2V when car is idling. But if you don't, buy a new MAF from Amazon and test, then return it. (For instance, I got a Chinese one for $40 that was reporting 1.3v on idle). If you still have scanner, you can run tests on the injectors to see if they are working, just remember to unplug the fuel pump fuse/relay and have no pressure on the line. Then listen for the noises that the injectors make. Clean/replace injectors as needed. Once you find the issue and fix, order thousands of dollars worth of OEM parts to refresh unrelated things (Optional)   PS: Thanks to the absolute legends of this forum for the responses and help to someone that went a bit over their head.
