Damn Boy Racers Parking Alongside My Car...

Recommended Posts

Nice GT40. I will have one in the collection one day.

The Bushrangers though are pretty interesting. Basically an overpriced battlefield taxi. I worked on the project in its early stages and wasn't impressed.

350hp Cat to ZF auto trans, push button gear selection, central tyre inflation for different terrain profiles, safely take 9.5kg of HE underneath with good survivability. No big gun so it's just a truck.

nice geoff, is that the realistic collection or the "if i win tattslotto" collection :P

i ended up lookin up the stats of those things on the net.

got the hp figure, but couldn't find any mention of the amount of torque that CAT 6 was putting out, would think that would be the most interesting thing about em.

14,000 kg would need a decent nudge to help it along i woulda thought :P.

half the trucks were drivers under instruction, so must have been a bit of a training drill.

didn't actually ask him, but pretty sure that the chassis wouldn't have been donated from another car. next time i see the guy i'll ask who the car was built by and try and get some more info.

Yeah, probably wasnt very clear but this one B)

yeah our historic race car has sponsorhip from the classic throttle shop that import all the gulf stuff so are car is done up with the gulf stripes, and when not racing has the big "GULF" sticker/logo on the roof etc.

love the old alfa's, had a 2L alfetta as one of my first cars.

would have to sound pretty decent with the short exit pipe hanging out the side there

yeah it's pretty sweet. it has a fully built motor (inc pistons, rods, very big cam etc) running 48mm webbers. We will actually be racing it at Phillip Island next year so if anyone is keen to come and say hello i'll let you know when we are out there.

edit: the GT40 replica was most likely built buy http://www.gt40australia.com/ apparently they have very good quality/faithful kits.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
