Hi All

what is the best way to install the Power Fc computer?

I want to put power FC computer in my gtr34 2001what is the best why to put it can I put it alone with out the original car computer or like the Z350 I have to but it with the car computer .

Thanks

Shwaier

the powerfc is full stand alone and not a chip replacement. you simply remove your old computer and replace with powerfc, no need to swap chip sockets or anything

Ya I know its a stand alone computer put I her from my friend have a Z350 when you want to install the Power Fc on it you can put it alone put the best way if you put it to the engine and the electronic things on the original computer .

And I think there are different between the R33 and R34 because the R33 you remove the original and put the Power Fc alone .

Thanks paulr33

sorry i dont understand exactly? The apexi powefc is complete stand alone. you no longer need to retain the stock ecu in the car, the powerfc runs all the factory sensors and systems correctly. there would be no need to keep the stock ecu installed or piggybacked. apexi do not make the powerfc for the 350z so he/she may have an ap engineer unit (didnt know they existed for 350z) or some other form of piggyback, prehaps apexi safc?

the bnr34 skyline has built in security in the cars key to prevent theft.

i believe this works fine as its not linked to the ecu itself.

i know of at least one bnr34 skyline that has no issues, again assuming he is using the standard key still. perhaps just try it and see how it goes? let us know and ill to powerfc faq

I have a series II bnr34 and i have a power f/c , just pull the stock ecu out and install the power f/c .

No problem with the immobiliser , it has its own computer that enables the cars main ecu .

I dont want to tell you on here how it works but if you want to know pm and i'll tell you .

i think, he thinks we dont realise that bnr34 and bnr33 powerfc is different and i think he thinks we don't know about the security feature built into the key. thats the only logic i can obtain from it? but yes they are different ecu's as you would expect. sounds he was just worried about his key still working which is fair enough, i would be too

dudes

i Bought the car from used showroom in japan and after i Bought

it i realise that the car computer is a R33 computer and the key is not

the orignal key (withe out security chip) its a normal key now i want to change the computer to Power Fc and i dont know what kind i have to order the one for R33 or for R34 Because my frind Says Maybe when you order thr Power Fc for R34 the security system will work again and i dont have the key withe the chip.

Thanks

Just in case anyone wasn't aware - the "FC" in "Power FC" stands for "Full Computer". It's meant to replace the ECU along with all its functions, in addition to everything else it does. I imagine that's the reason why you can't use the R33 Power FC in an R34, if the R34 has additional security features.

but the Security Features have a diffrint computer not the same ECU

ok what the different between the 2 engines its all the same Rb26 Deet

the different in the computer and the electronic thing only.

if they baypass the security i think i can but a Power Fc for R34 and i will not need the Security key because i used a regular key now (with out chip) but let say if i need to use a security key from where can i get one and where can i program it .

Thans

    • Am I correct in assuming that the R35's are getting the classic skyline haircut off the odometer?  Quick search on carsales, there are 33 08 and 09 GTR's for sale, only 2 of them have more then 100,000km's on them (116,075 and 110,000 respectively).  And somehow there are about 25 for sale with around 60,000kms? Looks like the classic skyline haircut to me =/
    • @Stringycheese  Have you only gone to the one blue slip workshop?  There will be a heap of them where ever you live, good odds that the next place you go to will pass the car.  Unfortunately (or fortunately?) every blue slip / engineering workshop will be different and will be happy passing or failing different things - despite working from the same set of rules. It's kinda like 2 lawyers arguing over a piece of legislation, each saying their interpretation is correct. Might seem strange that this happens when it comes to getting a modified car passed, but this is very much a thing. A big part of the game is finding an engineer / workshop that is on the same page as you.
    • Bah. I daily mine. ~60km per work day, 10-12 thousand km per year. What's the point of having a dirty old Datto and leaving it in the shed. It needs to be driven and enjoyed while the govco allows us to do so. It will only be a few years before we're forbidden to even start up internal combustion engines.
    • Judging by that spring perch and the normal looking spring on it - not a coilover. Well.... it is a coilover, just a stock format coilover, rather than what everyone calls a coilover.
    • Yes it is. We get stock from Nismo directly. I'm happy to take photos/video of it as proof before I ship it with timestamps or whathaveyou.
