Apexi SAFC and ITC

Unfortunately mate, 3G.. won't do a hell of a lot for you..

Once you pay for labour and all.... If you can do anything yourself... you'll save heaps in money and will therefore be able to do more...

What's your compression on that motor? Could bump up the comp a bit... port the head to get better flow... Change your cams... get a stand alone management system.... There's a few ideas... I'm a forced induction person so I'd just say force it but that will cost a bit.....

Have you got any ideas yet? Does that help?

i'm trying to avoid forced induction, mainly because of P-plate restrictions.....so i'm trying to keep the mods, below radar...but yeah a few people have suggested a new ECU...you are right about the budget tho, so i'll be doing as much as i can myself, thanks for the help though, cams seems like a route that may work

if you go ahead with that at those prices, you are getting ripped

I really wouldnt say that.

Depends what type of person you are. Ive spend 2k on my full exhaust, 1.2k on frount mount, id spend 2k on an ecu including tune etc etc (PFC), 1500 on a rebuilt turbo+install.

Its not that bad!

Sure you can do this

chinese exhaust, chinese turbo, chinese frount mount, chinese ecu (exist? iono, probably some copy somewhere) + chinese mechanic/chinese tune (nothing against, just part of the theme) and get it for heaps less, but it depends where your priorities lie my friend.

Id pay the above prices. I am not much of a hybrid/xforce fan (speaking from past experiances)

dude... i dont mind you trying to portray the whole copy/pirate scene, and i fully understand what you're trying to get at - but being chinese i take slight offence at your stereotype.

been to china 4 times and there are a few respectable garages in china that stock all the well known brands such as hks, blitz, greddy, etc (and guess what they are all similarly priced as stuff you would buy here).

people buy copies knowing that they are copies - and yet they complain when they break. dont buy em.

that said - those prices do look a little high (even for australian prices)

cheers

^^ whats so rip off about that.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
