Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, i'm after my second car (and am a skyline n00b) and basically want the most bang for buck without spending too much. Now my question is this, I live in QLD currently and am on my P's, but will most likely be moving down to Melbourne next year for study purposes. Does anyone happen to know if any of the turbo r32s are p plate legal down there? From what I can gather a gtst or gts4 might just scrape under their power to weight ratio? Like I said, i want something with a bit of poke and plenty of potential for modifications - and a skyline seems like a great idea!

And another question seems im here - gtst vs gts4 - can someone give me some ideas as to the pros/cons of each? I'm leaning towards the gts4, but any input would be great.

Thanks in advance guys!

Dan.

Hey,

Do a search on this topic as it has been covered loads of time! I'm sure the moderators will tell you the same thing.

The answer, R32 GTS-t and GTS-4 are legal for P platers in Victoria.

Cheers

Grant

You can drive a 32 Gts, Gtst or the GTS 4 one but not GTR

Btw if u got the GTST theres no room for mods otherwise you go over the power to weight ratio. as it comes in at 124.3 kw or something :S

Gtst: Looks more like a sports car but less room

Gts4: More Room but looks more looks less sporty

but it all comes down to Personal opion, search it all been asked before :)

Thanks guys! I was certain it had been covered before, but me and search function don't seem to get along :O And i thought the r32 gtst and gts4 had the same power output? Anywayz i'll go do some more searches!

I wonder then, are any of the turbo 33s p plate legal? Guess i'd better look into that!

Ciao! B)

Do you really know what you are talking about?

GTS4 does not mean it is a 4 door, it is a 4wd GTST.

Personally, i would prefer the gtst, as i think the rb20det is not torquey enough for the 4wd system and the extra weight. This is only my opinion, others may disagree

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
