Is your mate's 350Z stock? Because 1:12's is what the pro drivers are pulling around Wakefield in the comparos, so he's either tweaked it a bit, or a gun driver.

That time of 1:11.5 is crazy fast.

Done a stack of laps there and PB is 1:16.9 in my zed n/a on semi's, full comp suspension, slotted rotors, etc . Last time I was there I just managed to squeeze past a pair of 350 zeds, but our laps were almost identical.

Boosted zed's slot car, the "skyline smacker", has managed a ball tearing 1:08.4.......

Hard to keep track of time down there unless you have a transponder. Hand time methods are sometimes a little unreliable.

no it is not stock, yes it is tweaked and he is a gun driver and you know him...

it was a 12 or 13 i dont exactly memba

says it all!!!!!!!!

use stopwatch times as a roug measurement.

Remember you travel about 30m in 1 second at 100km an hour, so there is a pretty big margin for error when not using proper timers.

Not doubting anyones time just throwing in my 2cents

I find that recording your session with an incar camera, and using a dvd recorder for their timer, you can "frame by frame" for identical land marks. Gets you to about 1/3 to 1/2 a second.

Plus you can amuse your friends when your pissed ! B)

I've done 1.10.2 in a standard 32 n1 gtr, but that was on good semis.

1.11 is pretty amazing on road tyres!

Most fairly standard gtsts do between 1.15 and 1.12

1.08 is the best skyline Ive heard of, Giant dropped down from QLD to do that at the Dutton Rally. I think GTRJason is around 1.08 as well.

I know of a couple of Silvias that have broken into sub 10's around Wakefield (with proper timing equipment).

But they're more serious than your usual "light tune" mods, and at least one of them was on full slicks, and the drivers know what they're doing.

well if anyone wants to come next time i go more than welcome...

i will also have be with a sti doin 1:08s as well so call me bluff but come on down next time....

All for another track day at wakefield. Make sure you post it up in the events. I know i would definately take 2 spots if you get one going!!!!!

meh, i was at wakefield last weekend. it will be some time before i go back. it's a fairly fun little track but so damn far. and the flies!! my god the flies!

in our little 2 litre NA 105 alfa spencer has done 13s, i'm not sure on my official times, but they would be a few seconds off that.

We should organise another sau day down there but stay down the night after so you dont have to drive home the same day. Not that ive been to any of the others at wakefield due to budget and work comitments.

Last time i went down for a track day the guys i went with organised the pelican sheep station( right next door for thoes who dont know) domitaries for the night as well. I think there was about 30 people for the track day and it cost about 150 which included the accomodation and pizzas from in at goulbourn plus plenty of booze and of course the hire of the track.

Food for thought anyway.

anyone keen?

    • Yes the gear for the R33/34 is different, it is red and has a different number of teeth. My part didn't come with that gear though, so I don't know how many teeth are on the red one. You'd have to reuse the 260RS/R33 gear, as long as it's not destroyed.   Haha, as unfortunate as that might be it was working fine for about the first 1500km I've had the car for now.
    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.
    • Where is the warning "That this thread is super old"   I just went into a 5 year old thread, went to do a reply, and couldn't see anywhere obvious a warning of it being super old
    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.
