ToF
Hey guys, I have 2 broken studs on the exhaust side of the block (exhaust manifold, etc) and was wondering if anyone knows of a call out service where someone comes to your house to take out the broken stud and puts in the new one? I would do it myself but I don't have the tools or time to. Thanks for your help in advanced. EDIT: The exhaust manifold and turbo are already off Edited December 22, 2005 by ToF Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/99373-any-stud-repair-services/ Share on other sites
SteveL
Look up 'Thread Doctor' (something like that) in the yellow pages. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/99373-any-stud-repair-services/#findComment-1811651 Share on other sites
inark
so the studs are still in im guessing??? the way we used to do it was drill a small hole in the end of the thread that was stuck... hammer a small 1/4 end srew bit into it which was slightly bigger then the hole drilled... then get a ratchet with the correct socket to fit over the bit and use a lever bar to turn it until its lose. ToF
Thanks inark but I rather get a professional to do it as I don't want to risk making it worse. I check the other studs today and one of them seems a bit loose as in it clicks around, is it right for me to assume that is already snapped and I should get that done at the same time? I'll try looking for Thread Doctor then, thanks SteveL Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/99373-any-stud-repair-services/#findComment-1812298 Share on other sites

Because I forgot to ask him when I called -_- Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/99373-any-stud-repair-services/#findComment-1812468 Share on other sites
