Can This Be Repaired (fg Front Bar)
MANWHORE replied to so_tred's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
The bodykit shop I went to known as X don't give a shit about legal action. Believe me. I've finished my law degree, and I have rerlatives who are lawyers. I can take them to court at zero expense to myself. After buying shonky stuff off them, even with threats of legal action, they don't care. -
check out the for sale section. they appear from time to time. I sold mine for 150 a while ago. It was in perfect condition. paint was perfect. not a single swirly. The guy literally put it on his car straight away. Just look for a while, and you'll eventually find one in your car's colour so you dont ahve to pay money on top to spray it again.

Nah, I'm still not a fan. Everyone has their own opinions, but imo, 20s are for big sedans like mercs and 300c (come with them stock) etc.

If you need any more electrical advise, I can help ya. PS: not implying anything silent. As said above, just grab power from behind the lighter, hook a switch in, and ground it anywhere.

Basically, it's a real bitch of a job. What you have to do, is end up with some combination of the oringal rails mated with the universal rails. It's totally bogey. Requires welding and cutting. If you don't ahve a welder, drill, grinder, I wouldn't even think about trying it yourself. If you have a look in the for sale section, you can buy bride rails second hand for pretty cheap. like maybe 200 each. They're much better.

I have never had a good experience with a body kit shop that is called X. I am normally a very calm person and very pleasant to talk to. After having dealt with them recently, I felt like I could possibly want to hurt them. In answer to your question, that is a stress point, and it'll only crack again. I don't like your hopes of getting a new bar (hassle because of shipping too) or your money back. They will not do it. -
Nah, you don't. The guage can read off the factory water temp sensor. It is one of the wires on the ecu loom. Just check your workshop manual to find which is the signal wire and hook that up to the guage.

I personally do not feel comfortable wiht the shorting the pin method, because I have not read that in any of my nissan manuals (someone correct me if I'm wrong, because the indexing of the manuals is very bad). Disconnecting the battery seems to work sometimes if it's disconnected for a long period of time but I hate losing my radio stations. Nowadays, I just use my laptop to do it. I can reset the ecu and clear the self learn.

Hopefully not too long. The fuel pressure regulator is what controls the amount of fuel going into the engine. One of my friends has killed an engine just because the fpr vacuum hosing split prior to a track day. That's why I always change that particular hose on all my cars as soon as they look the slightest bit suspect. It's cheap insurance for like $5.

Gtr Xenons Installation Problem Worth $100 To You..
MANWHORE replied to JUN R33's topic in General Maintenance
If the switch is worn, then it's worn. There's nothing that can be done except either replace it, or do a makeshift repair to it. It's probably cheaper to just replace it with a second hand unit in good nick for $20-30. Basically, even under normal use, the switch does get worn from constant switching. Increased current draw makes it worse. I.e. when people run 100 watt bulbs. One of the cars that I was working on had a switch that was completely melted and shorting out once the battery was connected. I had a look out the front, and the whole headlight loom was melted and shorting out too. When I had a look in the headlight, the plug was melted and the reflector material was peeling. When I had a look at the bulb, I almost had a heartattack. I have never ever seen these for sale. It had a 150 watt bulb in there! 3 times stock wattage. Anyways, with xenons, once they're started, they draw 35 watts. Which is less than halogen (55 watt). However, when they're starting, they draw more power. Just so that my circuits can handle the power, I make a dedicated wiring loom relayed and fused from power. By doing this, you also make your switch last almost forever. Since the only current on the switch, is just the few milliamps used to power the relay. -
How Do I Get Me Frontbar Off? >>33 S1

it's in the tutorial section. look harder. there's like a contents thingy up the top -
i have used nulon oil flush in every single ones of my cars every service with zero ill effect. I have my reasons and I stand by it. Putting in a little bit of shit oil is just a waste of money. as said above, it's not going to do anything. Also, running it with cheap oil is also a waste of money. Tell me this. you put your good oil in, and start it up and check the dipstick. if your engine is good (like mine), the oil is so clear you can hardly take the reading on the dipstick because you can't see it. The oil starts getting dirty after a few weeks. why? because of the good detergents in your good oil. if you put in shit oil, it's got very little and very crap detergent. Defeats the purpose of trying to flush it, and it's just putting money in the toilet. If you're worried about using a flush, use a really good oil always that has a lot of detergent in it, and you won't need to flush it.

Did you not get my pm? I have done numerous hid installs as well as retrofits. my dad is an electrical engineer and this is our field of specialty. As I said, if you want, give me a call, and i can even get the stuff you need for ya if you're in sydney. my numbers 0403 211 482 We know a lot about electronics as well as hid itself. PS: depending on what car you have, h4 is most likely not the one you need. what gtr do you have? r32s projectors are either h3c or h1. r32 reflector is h4. gtr33 is h1. give me a call and I can tell you anything you need. if you're in sydney, you can even have a look at my setup, or i can have a look at your car and tell you what you need. Cheers Chris -
There is something that has always puzzled me. It seems almost like a double standard. People on sau always say that it doeisn't matter that the intake piping gets hot, because the air passes throguh it so fast that it doesn't really get a chance to get heated up. I totally agree that if you stop your car with an open pod, then yes, it will suck hot air in for a split second when you start moving again, but with our turbo cars, all the air under the bonnet will be refreshed in a split second once you start moving again, and it is actually sucking the air. Once you're moving, all the air will constantly be refreshed, and if it is as sydneykid says that the air moves so quick that it deosn't really have a chance to get hot, then it should be fine. Food for thought

Buying A Car Ramp For Servicing? Which Ones R Good?
MANWHORE replied to LatinR33's topic in General Maintenance
none of them are good. most likely, even at stock height, you probably won't be able to drive onto it. get a trolley jack and stands. don't skimp and buy a little one - they're pretty dangerous. get the big $200 ones -
How do they go? like have they been tried, tested and proven to flow accurately and even across all cyhlinders etc?
-
I think instead of hd, he meant hid?
-
It took me 10 minutes remove an r33 airbox and put in the apexi kit. Everything literally bolts straight in (unlike most supposed plug and play things). It comes with gasket, bolts, filter, everything. bolts straihgt onto afm.

those are stuffed. Notice how you've broken that little wire along the side? -
Nice write up darren. I've done it myself on my daily driver, and it's not hard or as scary as the job looks. It's just pretty messy when you're doing it on the floor. Have rags ready to mop up spills, and try not to get any on you, because it stinks and it's gross

The thornleigh mob are expensive. I called them up once asking how much a simple weld and paint job to repair gutter marks would be and they said $200. Magman was looking more around $80.

How Much Does A Rb20det/rb25det Gearbox Weigh
MANWHORE replied to AHH31's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah, the 32 one is physically tiny. Like when you see it, it looks almost like an sr20 box. The r33 one is physically bigger. I have not compared an r34 box with an r33 box.
