Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo's V 2.0
Predator1 replied to Piggaz's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Im not sure if its a good idea to put the valley cover.. it wouldnt be good for the coils I imagine. I thought about machining some holes or a design in the valley cover to get some ventilation but I dont want to ruin it. -
Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo's V 2.0
Predator1 replied to Piggaz's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
That sucks man. I am also running the same ones I think.. the white stalks with yellow o-ring. Did yours misfire from the start? Or gradually? Are you running the valley cover? mine didnt clear so I left it off, but probably for a good reason too, and im running .8 gap platinums. No issues at all so far, unless im running some weird gen. -
Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo's V 2.0

Not to derail, but what issues? I have the 1st gen PRP kit and I (touch wood.. NOT Diddy's) never had any.. altho i did hear that later revisions people experienced misires etc. -

Understood. If you dont have a ridiculous limit, Tune, T's and P's are in check, and arent bashing it all the time and doing the due deligence for maintenance(inc oil analysis) then its pretty safe. 100% agree, let your right food control it to some extent.

Details: Turbo Borg Warner EFR 9180 with 1.05 rear housing Upgraded TurboSmart integrated BOV Sanded and powdercoated compressor cover in gloss black Elbow welded with wiggins clamp Speed Sensor(Not included) (Can include oil drain(heat wrapped + titanium intake pipe with almost new filter for a tad extra). Manifold: 6 Boost RB26/30 twin scroll manifold e-MAP ports drilled into both scrolls(I was using the TAARKS EMAP KIT) Turbo is in excellent condition. Always used Penrite 15w50 Racing oil(Changed less then 2000ks). Also using the Turbosmart OP regulator and filter. Downpipe: 4inch Stainless steel with VBand inlet and outlet clamps(included) Heat wrapped Dual ports for Dyno/Wideband usage Will throw in free 2.5 inch intercooler pipe(2.5inch From turbo outlet to 3.5 inch intercooler) - Powder coated black. Turbo made 563rwkw on mainline hub dyno at around 24-25psi boost - Pump fuel. Will def make over 600kw on e85. Didn't bother as my e-MAP was through the roof with my setup sitting past the choke line. I have a cnc ported and fully built head on my 3.2. Turbine speed saw max of around 109k rpm. I'm running this on my R32 GTR, with AC, and the original power steering pump. The manifold clears the AC lines, ABS, and everything else. Although I had new AC lines because I just wanted new ones and I heat wrapped them as well. This will make more power on a slightly lower capacity motor with a higher PR. And I have since upgraded to a G45-1500. Have pics and videos if need be. Absolutely nothing wrong with setup. Turbo is in perfect condition. No shaft play or oil leaks at all. All the work was professionally done. The transient response of this is fkn amazing. I cannot rave more about this turbo. If I wasn't chasing 4 figures, I would have kept it. $5000 NZ. Located: Auckland, New Zealand.

Why not? Since mines been built, I've used low boost maybe 5 times.

Never ending fuel pump drama
Predator1 replied to Murray_Calavera's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Toasty! I was around the same. Around 50 but with a fuel cooler. Got my tuner to dial down the pumps and its so much better.. i think last time I drove it was around 35-40 during summer. PWM makes a huge diff. I have the 1 PWM controller running my feeds. -

Hows your fuel temps? I had big issues with fuel temps running 2 285's. -

How to preserved a signed plastic??
Predator1 replied to Predator1's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Will the clear coat dissolve the ink tho?? I thought about clear vinyl tape too. Thinking what to do haha. The one I have now is cracked in 1 spot, otherwise mint. Plus the MINES one is much thicker plastic material so its not flimsy at all. -
Hi, I went to the MINES shop here and bought something.. Niikura-San just happened to be there so I managed to take some pics and got him to sign my dash surround thingy. Its still wrapped in plastic back home.. I was thinking how to preserve the signature??? Im sure someones thought of this and done this in the past.

Rb26- Enlarging Std Throttle Bodies
Predator1 replied to XRATED's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
It really depends on your setup. Mine is 'accidently' more suited to revving higher. bigger cams, turbo etc. Plus my super long first takes donkey years to come onto boost, so if it will move my power band to the right, maybe i'll pass on this. i have a G45-1500 going on there soon which I suspect might make it more of a fat pig. -
Speedtek 800hp Close Ratio Gearset
Predator1 replied to FRGTN1's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
One of my good mates had a speedtek gearset in his 32R. No issues at all. He upgraded to a seqy and onsold it to another mate, who sold it another mate(upgraded to seqy), and its still going fine in another car. All the cars had around 900-1100rwhp. -
Rb26- Enlarging Std Throttle Bodies
Predator1 replied to XRATED's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
bump. Anyone had this done? either 49 or 50mm? Been pondering what to do while mines in storage. Been thinking of DBW but if I do that, then might as well do this too. Want to retain 6 throttles. I have a fully build head(CNC, OS valves, 286/278 cams, etc etc still running squish), and a Greddy old school intake with port matching. Head bench flowed 300cfm. Wondering whether bigger throttles will give me any gains. Makes 563kw. -
Personally I would first drain the oil thats in the sump.. and stick something else in.. something cheap.. which id then replace once its idled for a wee bit. Fogging oil is usually done before you put it away - I use that on mine.. as I store it for a whole year every year. Your injectors might be stuck, if running an aftermarket ecu you can easily test each one.
-
Regardless, its peace of mind swapping the factory twins for something else. Personally if it was me: Link G4X Additional sensors for engine protection Twins Oil pump mods(maybe throw extension to sump) injectors/Pump Clutch Exhaust Oil Cooler Good pads/suspension Should be good for 3-350kw depending. Granted thats closer to 15k but still.

Haha thanks. Will do next year as cars in storage now.....

How hard are you tracking it? I have 378 in front and 355 in the back with decent pads and my brakes were spongy after a decent session with lots of braking. It was a short track though but got up to around 190-200 max. be keen to hear. Mind you, I havent flushed my fluid so thats probably part of reason.

As per title.. has anyone used so far? Keen to hear results, comparisons. In the market for a new mani for my new turbo. Any issues cracking?
