  1. Agreed. What have you been told it means?
  2. And testing the coils like that is meaningless,as it is easy to ignite the mixture at idle, much harder when under full boost which is when coil related misfires occur the worst.
  3. What are the afrs when the issue occurs? That should give you some insight into what is happening. 1000 bucks is cheap, sounds like you should be able to sort out relatively easy. Don't mess around with a fuel cut defender, waste of time.
  4. Is there voltage at the pump? What condition is the plug in?
  5. All engines have to be run in to bed the rings in. If you don't do it properly they might never seal correctly. Google how to run in a new engine, be amazed there's heaps of ways and no one agrees.
  6. Haha, I'm certainly not a hater, but trust me you will get sick of the same questions over and over again. In this case though he has taken the time and written a decent post to explain the problem. So back to the topic, as you have a chassis dyno it will make things heaps easier for you. As blackers said fuel pump and filter, along with new plugs and checking the timing, (search the correct way of doing it) and definitely check for boost leaks with a pressure test! ( I think blackers is on the money there) Welcome and good luck with it. Just curious why do you have the dyno?
  7. Cos you seem nice heres a pic. The thing to undo is the gold coloured plug in the bottom left of the photo. You can see the bolts that hold the sump on near it along the bottom of the pump,so should be clearer for you. Also shows you can't take the oil pump off without removing the sump.
  8. I'm prettysure You can't take the sump off with the engine in the car. The oil pimp stays on. When you take the sump of you will see the plug Simon is referring to.
  9. That's terrible economy. I would be questioning the tuner on that one, unless you drive like a mental case everywhere. Where did you hear that the rb is the most efficient 6 cylinder? That doesn't sound right!
  10. So the engine is not rebuilt? In that case don't spend the money on cams, save it for a rebuild down the track.
  11. Sort of. For a neo they are highly rated, not so much for an rb26.
  12. Not enough info. To select cams you need to specify what you want to do with the car, Rev limit, what 'all the other good bits' means etc.
  13. Dude that sucks.. Did you have an alarm? I hope it was insured and they sort it out for you. Ben
  14. Sorry bud, sold it yesterday. Never ran it with. 63 housing so no chart.
  15. Google first part number. Ease up on capitals
  16. You pour it down the dipstick tube. Trans fluid is runny, and the trans dipstick tube is big.
  17. That's totally crazy! Post updates when you find any.
  18. Turbo it. That will make it quieter.
  19. C34? There's a thread about them.
  20. Nice looking engine bay dude. That's a 2 inch outlet though?
  21. keep 5g in bank for when engine goes bang
  22. What would that do to the piston to valve clearance? I would be very hesitant to take that much the head. If you are going to bore a block, I think it is pretty silly to buy new cast pistons, i would go for forged. If your engine needs more than a hone, you might aswell just get another engine that would get away with just a hone, and keep using the stock pistons. The engines are everywhere and are cheap as chips. Or preferably find a good nick engine and just use it untouched.
  23. No worries dude. There is obviously heaps of advice to be heard, but without having a goal and budget in mind it's all a waste of time I would start with a full change of all fluids, plugs, timing belt, tensioner, cam seals, etc to make sure you are starting with a solid base. One you start modifying it you are opening up a bigger money pit!
  24. Consider yourself pointed in the direction of the rb26 dyno results thread stickied in this forum. Or by pointed in the right direction do you mean have exactly what to do to your car spelled out to you based on not specifying a budget or goal? Sorry if that comes across harsh, but seriously all the info is on this site, and your question can't be answered as theres not enough info.
  25. That makes heaps more sense!
