  1. the crash happened on 01/08/15. took from then until 25/08/15 with insurance company before an end result was settled. got quote for repair, Just Car decided they wouldn't fix the car (but they are not writing it off) due to any repairs made would be unwarrantable (their reasoning was my cars paint condition and the extensive custom modifications done to the car...) final result is i get a cash settlement for the value of the repair quote (less my excess and any admin fees). keep the car with rego and i fix it myself. apart from the obvious cosmetic/panel damage it was to bad. snapped caster arm, bent LCA, bent engine crossmember, rad support, intercooler and piping. etc i have done most of the repairs myself already or at least bought parts needed. it will never be what it was. plan is fix it enough to be 'presentable' on the street but no go all out with whole new GTR front end/fresh paint. street/track the car then probably sell it or part it out. see how we go...
  2. The end of an era shit happens. based of the data my DVR/dash came collected 47km in an 80km zone through an unsigned(no yellow speed sign) corner. rocks/mud/sticks all over the road resulting in a very anticlimactic crash and the damage you see below.

  6. yeah i ran a flush through but i did do that when i changed the radiator back when i got it so not much came out. mainly just around the thermostat
  7. Thanks man i am glad you enjoyed the read. very sad to hear about the other car. i had visions that would happen to mine on the drive home with the GTR front end. do you have a build thread for the new one?
  8. id like to see a before and after dyno even if its on a normal RB20det as it would give me a good idea
  9. definitely some food for thought. i priced up the cost of going Neo with similar mods that i have now $1600 motor $900 nistune + tune $500 splitfires total = $3000 or so for very similar power (based of my mates rwd RB25 neo stagea thats stock ish + tune) to ge more power add $1000 turbo $500 injectors etc... which is why i thought just adding a turbo to my motor might the go. But it seems the best course of action is just drive the car as is and be happy with 210kW
  10. Car was not getting up to temp and dropping way too cold when cruising at higher speeds so i figured something was up with the thermostat. yup there is your problem. plus the gunge

Yeah i suppose it already makes more power than expected considering the fairly basic setup. old dyno sheet below, made about 10kW or so more and everything ~200rpm earlier with the tune (coilpacks and slight map fiddle) last week on the same dyno. realistically it is enough power for what i need. But we always want more especially if i can maintain similar response
  12. Yeah from SA so not really ideal. a before and after dyno graph to see the response/power difference is probably the best i can do
  13. Currents mods not really ideal for E85. injectors not big enough for E85 and turbo is the bottle neck as it is. RB20DE+T RB25 turbo (0p6/neo) R32 GTR injectors Ebay plenum R32 GTR cams with solid lifters profec b spec 2 etc would be interesting see a comparison of the results of the two! be sure to let me know?
  14. yeah det neo would be the path id take if my RB20DE+T dies. but i love the 20's hahah
  15. haha it was my first time doing anything like that. just take your time and its now harder than fitting a gearbox/turbo/brakes. and the light output is well worth it. Definitely one of the best mods i have done for drive-ability
  16. definitely worth finding all the options and pricing before i spent the money! i am getting a leak down test done in the next week to check on the engine health before i even think about buying something
  17. yeah currently making just over 210kw but was looking at stepping up to a bigger turbo/more power but with similar response. i had heard the hypergear high flows where laggier than the TD05 18g kandos?
  18. Looking into getting a kando turbo and recall int he past the internal gates where prone to spiking. I have heard recently that the issue has been resolved. is this true? or am i better off spending the extra on an external gate setup

  20. The headroom wasnt ever an issue for me haha im not that tall . the extra leg room between the wheel on the other hand is fantastic
  21. yeah they were up in the SA for sale thread a while ago. They are heaps comfy and hold me in very well even though they are reclinables. Genuine stuff is so expensive, can't imagine buying the new A side effect with them on the super low bride rails is my shoulder now sits below the window line haha... makes traffic driving a bit more challenging
  22. Brides and nardi in. next up for interior is fix broken trims, gauges, and a better gear knob. safe to say decent seats really transform the driving experience for the better
  23. Re registered the 32 and after a few grumbles from not being driven for over 2 months (still started regularly) we got it to start. New plugs and a set of Splitfires in and it ran well. Immediately went for a test drive. after only driving the 3cyl power house that is my daily this was a bit of a difference! During its time off the road i purchases a pair of genuine Bride seats + a nardi. will post pictures of these at some point soon
  24. did you grab the RE01s new or that used set i saw up? either way how do they perform/ road noise? also size?
  25. yeah currently the rear end resembles a cleanish drift car...and the front end is fresh 2 pac paint also the colour match isn't perfect haha. just eats at me. so now the next question is keep it blue or full colour swap? if i kept the blue i want a similar colour but more metallic. for any colour i don't want custom i want a factory colour so it easy to get more of if need be
