Happy Birthday Mate, hope you had a good one on Saturday!
-
everyone that works there now days are a bunch of dropkicks anyway. if it wasnt for V8 race, Fast Track and a couple of car magazines they would have nothing.
-
Well said guys. I am a believer in semis for track but not deca. they are an advantage if they have life in them but a nightmare when they dont (especially on the skid pan). also, cold semis are worse than cold streets, 1 little lock up on the mini wang or the basketball court say hello to way bigger flat spots and canvas if they are low. i normally run semis simply because they are always on the car but i ran streets this time and it was a good reminder that they can teach you things at a still fast but not too fasta speed. Tubs, i would be bring 3 sets if i was you

News to me Julian Stacey is not female and Marcus Stacey is actually Jane Buman. Apologies, i will get it fixed up over the weekend.
-
haha, will do. that would be a pissa. i dont even know what a sil80 badge looks like... dane, my time was a high 55 at dutton, but that is dutton timing, i believe the HH timing was a 56.1 or.2 Oh and btw, the GTR logo was for beating thomson outright at DECA

edit: this is in response to posts way above. it froze but still posted later?? Birds, you have a very specific answer to what is going on in that vid considering you didnt recognise it as the map we just ran. Its all good and well to talk the talk but for people to take what you are saying on you need to show us also. i like hearing peoples ideas and opinions, thats how you get quicker but mostly i will see who goes quicker and try work out what they did to achieve that. Considering SAU as a club has had the most success at Duttons and ATC (which are large scale 3 day deca/track events) there is a lot you can learn from watching and learning at our Deca Days. As for the maps, we knew there would be a lot of new people at this event so we chose simple maps. and there was also 1 less map to remember. To help with memorising the maps we post up the event schedual early. The trick is to memorise them on paper and if you are still not sure then watch 1 or 2 runs. If you had to look around at cones for numbers to work out where you are going you are already going to slow, it needs to be a smooth run and you need to know what is 2 turns ahead. edit2 after reading your above post you are obviously on another page. now i can be bothered cos i wouldnt know where to start. if i didnt know better id start calling you sputnik. also, what is the names of these race car drivers you work for?

if you get into the 55's you should dispell that. goodluck

there was no letting you win?! Plus, you cant deny 3rd outright. Well done to the winners in each class but especially Chris Stacey for taking it outright. You still one it with a WD! Standout times: Antony with a 36 on the pan & Shane Janssen with a 25 on the mini wang. There are a lot of new names taking it to the lead cars... and there will be no more running streets. they are fun to not care about but shit to go fast on. what are you talking about? you beat me Oh and Coronas and winning deca... big call.. care to make a wager?
-
haha troy is king! king of limiter and proper race conditioning for the body! results up soon. let them do the talking.
-
Funny you say that, because as much as people say they dont care about times and 'competition' we are constantly asked for them to be put up by lots of people. its like competition and fun cannot be in the same event... well it is. As for the limiter comments, once you have done a few more decas and you are trying to find the smaller amounts of time you will realise that there are places where the limiter is going to get you that time. Changing gears is sometimes a waste and also makes it harder to get a good set up for the corner. Then there is the excessive limiter users. they may not be maximising their speed but they make me happy

she just kissed it. no damage to it at all.
-
if we did the same layout again we would do 3 runs instead of 2 which means there would be a little less battle time.
-
Bigbird is putting together photos for the meeting tonight. hopefully we can get the damn thing to play... As for the day itself what did people prefer for the morning layout? obviously you need to have done more than 1 deca to comment It wont be too long until we are organising the next deca so we need to decide what to do... there seems to be good reports coming in about the new layout but would you prefer to do it the old way or new way next time??? Also, how did people find the maps? easy? hard?

First things first. I cannot believe that someone entered would do something so stupid as to let somenone who is not entered get out on that skid pan; and probably unlicenced for that matter too. The fact no-one even asked if it would be alright shows a lack of manners and flat out logic. If anything had happened it would be the end of Deca Days. This event may just be a bit of fun but there is a serious side to it and we rely on peoples better judgement to make the day safe and succesful. We spent hours on the phone to AASA before this deca fighting to continue with the battles. We will also now be considering wrist bands for entered drivers that will come at yet another cost. The fact you helped out in the morning Kris has helped you out, we cannot tolerate this and will flat out ban anyone who thinks they can help themselves to a drive. Take this as a first and last warning. Moving on... The day itself went better than we expected once we got through the first round of timed runs. Unfortunately there were a few minor details I missed in the breifing but thankfully there were only a small amount of hiccups in the morning. Well done to everyone, especially the first timers for catching on quickly. Also thank you to Bec, Mat & officials/helpers, everyone appreciates the work you guys do to enable the days to go ahead. Results will be up later this week.

Everyone will find out on the day. Groups are not important for the way this deca is being run. You should be with at least couple of your friends. i have had to go through 20 pages to find peoples requests so if you are not with the exact group too bad Not to mention, there are a lot of new names on the list so feel free to say hi to the new faces. Remember 8AM!!! Get your car through scruteneering as quickly as possible so we can get as much time on track.
-
Final entry list. Groupings are done and they are not changing. The above no's are not your car number. We will still take entries as there have been a fair few withdrawels.
-
we have left my car and big red out in the street. i just chain the trailer to the car with a lock. have fun with that understeer dane 18 pages. wow.
-
i think it is a combination of old age, pregnancy and too much skirt wearing. and Dane, just tell me when you want to change your car to the 180.
-
Thanks Mat. Anymore questions? We have 2 spots available at the moment due to withdrawels.
-
i would say that at least half the people come up on the friday, a lot after work. you didnt need a new thread to ask this. why dont you turn this into a cruise thread. meet at wallan bp at 630 or something. there are a lot of new names on the entry list so im sure you will get people interested in one.
-
second that

EVENT SCHEDULE Everyone please take the time to read over the Event Sched. as it is different to all other Decas. If you have any questions please put them up in the thread so i dont have to answer the same question 20 times. The biggest change is the morning sessions. Instead of being in 2 different groups, all 50 cars will be divided into 3 groups and will rotate from the pan to the mini wang to the long wang. each group will start at a different event to save time. This may or may not be a success but im sure it will help if people understand where they are going. As we have said the reason we decided to run this deca was so that we could try a couple of new things. All this will be explained at the drivers briefing also.

what are you doing to break yours?? My sr has been flogged for years and hasnt missed a beat.
