i agree with this. I had a Velo Podium 2 and it was awesome. Then got a Racetech with head restraints. Both as good as each other. The cobra was the only thing competing with the Racetech. It also seems like its the least likely to wear out with its stronger looking fabric.

yeah mate, anyone can come down. Security may ask you who is running the day at the gate before they let you in.
-
Entry and Supp Regs are up. its less than 2 weeks away. Entry Supp Regs
-
nice shots BBird.

speaking of the noise... that is a flawed system. if tim can get away with gate and scotsman gets pinged with la di da benno special super silent exhaust then somebody is smoking too much crack. we stay less than 2k from the track and there is no way we would be able to hear the gtr more than tims or brisbys car.
-
shit day for us. Mick and I got through our practice session and then game over. Another wheel bearing shat itself. car has some pace now, managed to match my old pb on my second lap with a passenger. lots left in it. bad luck to the two who binned their cars.. unfortunately thats motorsport.
-
your brake balance will be fine. maybe check your tyres, but most likely your foot. unless for some weird reason you have brake bias adjuster. when you are about to hit something you tend to push harder... even when your not spose to.. usually when it happens quick like yours. badluck.

heh, i see your angle now, i wasnt even thinking about factory parts. i dont mind dealing with nissan for eg, although expensive, they are fine. it is the private operators, the importers and wreckers etc that im talking about. again, there are good ones out there and i try to always use them, but geez, there are some real shit busineses around, i dont know how they survive sometimes. as for the Hicas, i would lose it. just one less 'person' trying to drive the car.
-
that sounds all so familiar, same spot too, except mine was oil in someonelses car... i can only imagine the way one would feel writing their car off on someone elses oil... however, if you drive over the oil faster, there is a guaranteed lesser chance of crashing. where did you bin it at EC? im hoping that is scarcasm. i could go on for ages.. there are always bad eggs in every industry, there just seem to be more where cars are involved.
-
parts people are the most unreliable people on this planet. im having similar issues at the moment, thankfully it hasnt ruined my plans for PI. bad luck Dane.

sounds good al, congrats. big garage?

mate, just take your car somewhere to get quotes. there are people that seem to have no idea just talking crap because they can... farkin dribble. if you break it down, paint, labour, other materials... think about how long it takes. remove all panels and glass (if they dont remove glass, then dont bother), rub the whole thing back, prime, rub back, paint, put back together, get glass put back in... call it $100 an hour labour, they spend 3 days focusing on your car.. thats already 3g in labour. crap bodykits add a lot of time also. Mine, snowys, roscos, big red, brisbys, joeyjoejoe, tim, leewahs, Ash's, Ant97gtr are just some of the members that have used or are at micolour. Ben from racepace uses him and so does meridian motorsport.

that was a waste of time. only a stupid bunch of americans could come up with that crap.
-
if they are true to the movie, they will pick a good base car that has been made to look retarded. we can only hope they would choose something nice like snowballs, aaaaarons or that white 34 from perth to give it a bit of.....something nice. on the other, take james up on his offer. i would love to see something like the superleg with a shopping list and a rediculously big gay silly sticker of something random on the side..
-
Consider it done troy. i am going to go straight at turn 1 and rejoin at the kink just before honda. its gonna be a big day now, we have a bucks night down at PI on the saturday night...
-
Why? A brand new set of 55's is over the top, but when you can throw a set of ao48's on with a heap of rubber left for $200-$300 why not have something more progressive. Take your car for example. 260kw atrw with a lightswitch turbo, ideally it is not wise to have this straight up at a track day, but say you did, would you really like to be learning that on streets? Mick and tim run streets on a very similar car and they are still sideways near the start finish at sandown.

Flip side of the coin here... I am all for easing into things and i do believe that a DD day is a great place to start, but in saying that dont think track days are going to be insanely intense. Its all about self control. If you understand the basics, ie, what an apex is, brake then turn - dont do both together yet, keeping everything smooth etc you can work your way into it quite easily. Another great option is to do a DECA. This is a great way to learn what your car will do to you when you pass the limit in a slower safer scene... As for tyres, if you can even get your hands on some second hand semis you will be better for it. (look for flat spots though) Your car will be a completely different beast between the two. the myth that semis will let go a lot harder isnt true either. yes it takes more speed for them to let go, but when they do you still have a much grippier slide. its all relative. If you do decide that you are going to go straight to the track a few pointers. 1: make sure everything is tight on your car, especially wheel nuts. 2: warm everything up first. Make sure your tyres are set to the right pressures and that you get some temp into them in the first couple of laps. Same with your brakes, they will warp if you dont bring them up to temp slowly. 3: dont be intimidated by or try to keep up with faster cars. 4: keep an eye on your mirrors. 5: the smoother you are the more constant grip you have making it easier to drive. Look forward to seeing more people out there! btw... if you bin your car dont blame me. as i said, self control.

Thanks guys. Its cool to see out of the top 5, 4 were RWD. Two of them being Dean and Jamie's Porkas... those things were damn fast. Congrats to Jamie on the fasted back track time. would like to see what they could get around HH. Standouts to Che and Tom for sure! Russ, considering you spun like 10 times im keen to see what you would have got if you kept it clean!

this thread is the crying corner ey? -
Wrong Direction. i will look into your time sandeep. i believe that you being car 39 could have something to do with your time. it only took 15 or so decas for a RWD to make it.. if chris hadnt taken a note from his reformed cone killer mate it would be different.

Thanks Martin and co. Results have been entered. Chris should be able to post them up tonight.
