  1. It is a hillclimb... hill descent really.. you dont do laps.
  2. It is a great track, great for throttle control and odd lines. not very hard on your car. There are a few hairy places, but they are only hairy if you make them that way you also dont get such high speeds you would from say sandown, so it is a pretty good place to start. in the morning they let you go around a few times without helmets slowly to learn the track.. there are a lot of corners.
  3. thats over 5 months away. the sau motorsport calendar is about to be released and the first round is at haunted hills on the 14th of feb. less than 4 weeks. who is the csa club?
  4. will be there.
  5. purely do it for the fun. unless you want to race your wallet... at the end of the day you will have a good idea where you stand but there is no chance the likes of us in our own cars will compete with the likes of those who were given drives last year. avtar change hey troy?? a sign the rb20 is a memory??
  6. there is a good chance i will be entering. i want to do oran park before it is gone. Dane, your car needs a debeut event.. something to aim for. is it nearly done yet?
  7. good work to all the people who knew all along. 2 points and a gold star.
  8. nice phone number +0288884444.. south african related car scams are all the rage at the moment.
  9. This is a heads up for everyone. take this information as you like: Jase1, Dennis350z and Andrea have all come from the same IP address. One of the addresses used to register these accounts are linked to Jasons previous business "exclusivity 9". these were used to back up jasons credibility. If you can find any other information on this event other than unique cars and the forums that can explain how 290 people handed over $13g then you are doing well. oh, and the fact that Jasons excessive emailing and posting came to a sudden stop once the due date for money had passed... this is all we are putting out right now. We have more information that discredits this competition, but it is based on here say. short of seeing 40 cars with cages and someone reliable to back it up im convinced that this isnt genuine.
  10. Subaru is to WRC what Ferrari is to F1. Where are they going to go? all the car manufatures confuse me... Subaru leaves wrc yet toyota are in F1 and dont even make sports cars anymore. honda was the same..
  11. im looking forward to this. out of curiosity, for those who have done both winton and oran park can you put up your times. basic theory is that winton is the closest thing to oran park we have down here and could be a rough indicator of times to be had..
  12. Not doing Morwell?
  13. edit. bah forget that. he did not take them so... yeah.. good work with the vids too.
  14. lucky you dont do vids. people wouldnt get to see them for at least 6 months...
  15. i think it would be good if we could get numbers. i like the idea of the open bar Ash.
  16. oh boy. you need a double layer of cotton wool... We dont conduct ourselves in a certian way so we can ask for money. We are a car club, not the babysitters club. if you post up something and you get flamed it probably means you posted up garbage. BTW i speak for myself. also, im not a part of the normal committee. Noone condones giving people shit or making jokes at people expence. if you have a legit complaint then make it.
  17. for a fairly rediculous question you got off pretty lightly. refering to whats been done as the 'mod list' brings shopping lists to mind. hence the humourous comment. anyway, good on you for asking. i spose it is a place to start. as some people have said, if you have no idea bring it along to a meeting or take it somewhere to have a look. daves idea is a good one too. besides forgies it shouldnt be too hard to see what there is. maybe put it on a dyno. that would give an indication of what things might have been done. as for your 'fu(king' diff, its sounds like a stuffed lsd assuming sinling means single spinning. at a stab. bring it to deca and ill tell you exactly what it is. Starion... what the hell are you on about? Jumped on his back taking the piss? its not all rainbows and lolilpops around here. i like to think that if people post up rubbish or silly questions they are going to be pulled up. unfortunately more and more crap gets posted and it now just gets over looked... and then there's the delicate whingers that will put an emo spin on everything. 'sami feels like the clown who got told to check his shopping list'.. you need to get some cotton wool and wrap yourself in it. sami should too if this is the case. HTFU
  18. are they not written on the door? thats a great way to never forget and you get a reminder everytime you get in.
  19. There ya go big bird. you enjoy this, you deserved it.
  20. It is a fact that the drive home from deca is actually longer than the drive up there... To begin with, a big thanks to all the volunteers that helped throughout the day. I dont think the back track could have pumped the cars around any faster if they tried. go double stop watches. As for the driving side of things, i think i would have been better off parking the car after the back track. Its a fairly different car to the previous decas, its now got a bit more whore in it. its hard to say but its inability to stop locking wheels on the skid pan may have had something to do with this it was massively obvious when i drove it off the trailer so i cant imagine not noticing it yesterday. i dont know how the hell you crack a rotor at deca anyway, they were warmed up before the back track and dont get hot anywhere else... then there was last night.. what did we learn? well: wearing pop button shirts is a silly idea unless you preempt every attack by ripping it open yourself. chasing kids while doing this is even better. speeches should always be left up to the guy noone knows and wasnt at the event. wang bangers in pints suck. belt fights are better with sound affects. chicken salt and dim sims dont go chris. never have 'the same' as him. DO NOT dierespect the aboriginal cows (in the park). only disrespect the white ones or you'll have a drunk aboriginal gang to deal with. just a couple from my phone
  21. i would start with that. they will not get up to temp like a track day. you can try letting pressure out as the day goes on and compare.
  22. that is correct. the back track however is normal road surface, so will chew up your tyres a lot quicker. (we spend most of the day on the skid pan so not to worry.)
  23. think carpark concrete. very slippery.
  24. If there is anyone that would like to come up to deca or is already coming but not entered and would like to lend us a hand we are offering free lunch and drinks. In the morning we need a number of people to help with the back track and mini wang. we need starters, timers and cone fixeruperers at some of the chicanes. (if anyone is going to be taking photos these are usually good spots). its all simple stuff. so if you, your mates or girl/boyfirends are able to help out please let us know by posting up. We will do a call out after the drivers briefing on saturday morning for officials but its always nice to know that we have a few coming already.
  25. wrx drivers take note. thats how you do it.
