  1. Wow, definitely a mid/low 10 in that Shame you got booted So no plans for a cage?
  2. Nice - what 60ft was on the 10.7 @ 135?
  3. Very nice - with a cleaner launch that's only going to get quicker This is a GTR, right? By default they use the "normal" GT-series BB cores, however can do the metal cage by request - their billet cores they have started doing now are all metal cage though I'm not too sure how much of their range are using those, so far. Getting confirmation
  4. Is that using a ball bearing core? Looks quite reminiscent of a typical .82a/r cast GT3582R result
  5. Are those numbers on pump gas? Pretty stout Reading that, HTA3582 would be a pretty "cake and eat it too" type unit for the XR6T crowd - then.
  6. How is spool and midrange? Top end power isn't what is going to be sacrificed with no VCT...
  7. Ahh I missed that you had an FG. If this is the case, I would fully roll with an HTA3582 - there is a likelyhood you may lose a tiny bit of response over the GT3576R, however at the same time it will also be quite substantially more responsive than the GT3582R versions and an all around upgrade. I'd put money on not being able to tell the difference between a GTX3576R and an HTA3582 in lag on a 4litre (in an honest test where you don't know which one you are driving) - but the HTA being a better match for the engine. It'd work very nicely IMHO.
  8. The 16G I just posted the results for had quite severe boost creep when I started tuning it which was a SERIOUS pain in the butt, nothing we could do would stop it and was going to run >20psi - even if we held the swing arm wide open This is how we found out the turbo is capable of 270+kw without issue, lol. It needed porting to avoid this, and others have mentioned that internal gated TD06s have that issue - so it may or may not have it, but I'd say it'd be better to just do it before installing it as it isn't an overly difficult thing to do at all if you have the tools.
  9. As promised, quality pics including boost curve for the Kando TD05H-16G6 (anti-surge) internally gated turbo my mate uses on his stock SR20DET - I only have good quality image of the DIN corrected dyno plot, though the photo I supplied last time of the SAE2004 corrected screen still had it at just on 250kw so not a major difference, but the boost curve is probably of greater interest... shows how quickly this frequently underestimated turbo comes on, and how much more flow it has on offer. It also shows that despite popular sentiment the Kinugawa anti-surge housings don't make laggy at all, at least in the case of this particular unit it actually spools VERY well for the power it is capable of:
  10. On stock manifold I'd probably go with the SL2 20G - probably need a bit of wastegate porting to make it work though.
  11. Absolutely - basically those are cases of people oversizing their turbos versus requirements, but going by the video the XR6T motor would actually be quite streetable which means I'd still consider one myself if it were going on a 4litre - being able to build boost on 4 litre engine at 2000rpm means you are on the way to a very potent engine, and being able to make 600+rwkw on E85 means it'd never need to be upgraded. I have a lot of disdain for the GTX3576R from everything I have seen of them (actually the whole GTX range aside from maybe GTX3582R - the HTA range was here already, and did it all... better), as you say - they don't seem to spool much better than a GT3582R and realistically they won't match the flow either, so they are just a smaller turbo. The HTA GT3582R is a much much better turbo, I reckon. Response has been likened to that of the GTX3076R but flow is equal or better than a normal GT3582R. I personally can't see any reason to go smaller than the stock XR6T turbo, but if you did - the GT3582R HTA would be the thing to go for. The GTX76 I feel would potentially also not be enough compressor for the 4litre - its a high PR unit, the 4litre is going to want to want good flow even at 1bar boost.
  12. Cool, look forward to seeing results
  13. A mate put an internal gate GTX3071R on his RB25 patrol which was used for long drives and general patrol like use and managed pretty much break the stock exhaust manifold! I would use the word 'crack' but it isn't strong enough to describe exactly how destructive it was Be interesting to see how this performs, and fares! Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 2
  14. Did you see my post a few back of the 3794R on the XR6? There are a few 450-550kw XR6T HTA3794 things lurking in Oz if I understand correctly
  15. Have had confirmation that the Super94 and Super 99 HTA turbos will have T4 twin scroll and TiAL exhaust housings as an option soon which is fantastic, imho.
  16. Yeah definitely, the thing that really does impress me about it is that power is huge for a 64mm compressor on pump gas - I reckon. I'm not sold on the power delivery, though - I think there are competitors which would do that with better delivery at this stage.
  17. I agreed the head had a lot to do with it...
  18. I think there is more to it than that - compare it with similar sized smaller and "higher performance" wheels to an HKS T04Z, and even the larger (and older tech) HKS T51R Kai on an RB28 running pump gas: Going by that, a T04Z spools better than both turbos - and a T51R Kai is not far off them at all. Regardless, yeah - SR22VET is way up there in terms of efficiency, while RBs are not so much... by todays standards.
  19. Fingers crossed it can improve a little bit, though I'm guessing its not going to be a huge amount better. Would have liked to have seen it all in by mid 4000rpm on a 2.8 - at least when not running a huge amount of boost. Let us know how you find the 6466 vs the 6766... and on that note, how did the 6766 drive?
  20. So it's your car? How does it compare before and after to drive? Its really good power but that lag looks much worse than I would have expected, especially on a stroker! Seems like a very nice setup otherwise, nice work
  21. The 64mm compressor seems to not flow a huge amount short of the 6766, I think it makes the 6766 redundant and those who want to go to the next level up in power from the 6466 should be looking at one of the HTA units - especially on an RB. The lack of spool difference on the dyno is a surprise, though I'd expect that transient response will paint a different picture - unless there is something else unaccounted for in that comparison.
  22. More details of the type of car? I'd guess from the weak early power delivery and rpm that it's an RB26 with big cams? Awesome power, surprised there wasn't that big of an improvement in spool between the two - without boost curve overlay it's easy to assume the 6466 just has a little more midrange boost pushed into it
  23. Awesome, good choice :-) What is the setup?
  24. Awesome, looking forward to seeing how that goes!
