Yep agreed - its not an overall fair comparison, the TD05 16G6 will match that power on E85 and do so with better response... than the SL20.5... I am certain of that, however it isn't apples for apples - as you keep raising boost/flow the SL20.5 will keep going up in power when the 16G6 will stop giving more at some point so it is better suited for a bigger purpose and no doubt its outright lag vs power potential is better. So if high 200rwkw on a mild SR20 running E85 will keep you happy, the Kando 16G6 is hard to go past in terms of spool vs power vs cost
-
Agreed, it looks like a wicked street setup and still capable of more - it looks pretty much like a normal GT3582R spool but GT3582R+ power which is definitely nice. Awesome attitude Would be interesting to see if you could develop wheels to match or beat their performance, I'd certainly get in behind if there is a reliable more local product which could do what the HTAs do all things being equal.
-
Pretty sure he said MickyTs somewhere Very nice -that is on E85, right? That has definite 11s potential, especially on high boost!

Which did you go for?

Awesome! Very nice, thanks for sharing - bet it is interesting to drive :-D

Who To Take The Car For A Dyno Tune J.e.m Or Powertune
Lithium replied to gtr0321994's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Not that I am local, but I have been around here for a while and have seen only evidence of good work and equally important great attitude to customers from JEM and would be going to them if I were in that area. And because 34GeeTeeTee haha -
That would be interesting, that HG version clearly looks laggier - with cams and more boost my mates S14 (I only tune it) would match that power but with better spool that at least shown in that plot. Kando do a billet version of the 16G too which would only improve things for it.

Wow, it's going to be nasty next time - well into the tens at that rate! FP have dropped prices on a bunch of their turbos, some would be the ones particularly good for Skylines:
-
Sounds like a beast, especially overall power deilvery Really keen to hear times for it, and to see dyno plots!
-
I bet it would be! Weren't tempted to go that little bit bigger and put a 6466 on it? Something like that would be unstoppable, especially with a bit of ethanol in the mix
-
Wow nice power curve - how much boost, when did it make full boost, and what fuel is that on?
-
Look for Trust T517Z results, it will be basically the same thing - they are larger and a bit laggier than GT2530s, but flow somewhere between GT2530s and GT-RS... from memory. Probably the kind of thing that people who want a bit more than GT2530 performance but not the kind of surge (and other) bollux you get with GT-RS/GT2871R-10s in twin form. As GTScoTT indicated, potentially a very potent setup

Walbro F90000267 E85 Pumps , Not Too Big For Road ?
Lithium replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Walbro in-tank is $165, on a 45% off special - so normally easily over NZD$200: http://www.nzperformance.co.nz/fuel-system/walbro-fuel-pumps.html But even then only $55 (~30%) more than: http://www.nzperformance.co.nz/deatschwerks-fuel-pumps/dw300-intank-fuel-pump.html Both are NZD$300 normal price. -

Really? The DW300 is comparable in price to Walbro 255lph here! -

Lithium replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Do you need the massive flow? Haven't used these specifically, but the likes of DW300 fuel pumps are quite fine with ethanol - quiet and all that good stuff and probably more suited to the amount of flow you need. -
Thoughts Of A Precision 6766 Ball Bearing Turbo
Lithium replied to gdzlar1's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I have the impression GTPumps.com.au are suppliers for ForcedPerformance turbos, otherwise they can be ordered at the links I provided above - which is how 34GeeTeeTee got his GT3076R-HTA (check the thread out here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/426059-forced-performance-hta-turbos/) -
Decide exactly what you want first, getting the 73 just to be different is quite an expensive exercise for not a huge amount of reward. If you really want the extra response vs power then it will be quite a beast - realistically I'd guess it will get you into the same power area as a vanilla GT3076R (350-360rwkw on the right setup), I wouldn't count on any more.... however the response will probably be pretty intense!

Nice man - jealous as! Cheers for the updates too, nice to know how these things come out in practice

Thoughts Of A Precision 6766 Ball Bearing Turbo
Lithium replied to gdzlar1's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
This question is difficult to answer without being told what expectations are. 33GTRV is fairly on the money from what I've seen, if you want silly power and retain response a bit closer to typical midrange turbos (GT3582R->T04Z of the old generation) then the 6466 is probably good for that kind of thing. If you are aiming at getting SERIOUS and thinking more about T51R type power but with lag closer to a run of the mill T04Z then I'd skip the 6766 and go straight to an 94HTA based turbo. While neither the Precision or FP crowds release maps if I were a betting man I'd say that if mapped - the 94HTA would provide a much wider map, as opposed to a taller (read: needs more boost for big power) map like the 6766. This wouldn't be conventional thinking, but if it's a stock stroke RB26 then the .85 T3 Super94 HTA may sound like a weird suggestion (ie, mid-a/r T3 for a big power RB26?) might be the gun thing, they have proven to make BIG power and are a very solid turbo - also not hugely expensive for what they are and this turbo has been proven to work VERY well on a serious spec 4G63, which seem (exhaust side) to have a similar sweet spot to a stock stroke RB26 imho.... they just prefer more compressor vs pressure ratio. I would call this turbo capable of well over 600awkw on a suitably build RB26 on E85/race fuel and respectable response for the madness it is capable of: http://store.forcedperformance.net/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=FP&Product_Code=NTFPSUPER94&Category_Code=SP. I'd confirm with FP, and also check with them if there actually are other exhaust housing options for it if you would prefer something else. The GT3794R-HTA is more expensive, though a very reasonable alternative - makes a bit less power than a Super94 HTA though also spools slightly better, and has more turbine housing options and again I believe better suited to a very high flowing 6cyl than the Precision alternative: http://store.forcedperformance.net/PROD/NTGT3794HTA.html -
Very nice
-
Cheers, it goes really well Response and spool is awesome, and it's probably worth mentioning that this is by no means the most it would make - there is heaps more in the setup, we just ran it up at the boost level that it will be used on the track for interest's sake. I suspect that on 20psi it'd make >280kw, which we may or may not bother confirming in future
-
As promised, stock SR20DET, flex fuel, ~17psi with internally gated TD05H 16G6 8cm housing. Heaps more in it, but this is more than enough for a stock engine track car for now :-) 17psi was hit between 3300-3400rpm, dyno run as per Status Dynapack advised setup to keep things comparable :

I know someone measured an HTA vs GT 3582R and there was a difference in the realms of 93g (HTA) vs 120g (GT) from memory? Something like that. No doubt some coincidence and some connection - hard to say how much, bare in mind it still uses the same shaft and turbine wheel. Also remember that the compressor wheel design is different, the HTA compressor has quite a lot less meat on it for the size - so it means both less weight and also more airflow through it.
-
We didn't have amazing luck with the internal gate on the 16G until it was given a dose of porting... Shame they don't do 16G in that range!
