  1. I believe most of the non-turbo Skyline's have the blue GT badge.
  2. Im 100% sure.According to the Ryco listing Cubes provided the 16400-53J10 is the equivalent to the z387, which also, can be used on all RB20's, RB25's (no mention of the Neo), & RB26's.
  3. Just for other peoples information OEM fuel filter Part no. 16400-53J10 can be used on the R32 & R33 for either the GTR & GTS-t.
  4. As mmmgtir mentioned the OEM fuel filter is still pretty good & quite efficient. When I first bought my car I was experiencing a pressure drop of around 2.4+psi, the car had a cheap fuel filter. I had it replaced with a Nissan item. Now, although Im only running just under 200rwkw, Im told theres only a pressure drop of under .8psi. Basically, you would only want to upgrade to a performance one if you want to decrease the pressure drop across & near the filter. Performance filters normally have a pressure drop of <.3psi & filter down to the 10-30 microns range (not sure what the OEM is rated at).

    petrol plan?

I'm not saying it won't happen, but I received an almost identical email to that, last year. At the time I thought it could work too, but realistically it's unlikely we'll see the good old days of .80c p/ltr (maybe if BP had coupons, hehe). Has it crossed anyones minds it could be a marketing ploy by the other service stations?? If we all start boycotting BP & Mobil, there'll be a lot of sick :spew: running imports on the streets.
  9. The fact that its got a set of wheels that I want, brakes all GTSt owners dream of, fatter lookin side skirts & kit than the Godzilla, cf bonnet, sleek gandor mirrors & looks like its doin 200mph, it would be one the best these eyes have seen if only it were nismo blue or had more top secret gold in it. I still like it nevertheless. :boinkcar:
  10. Are you saying the GTSt had 210rwkw & your Soarer had 340hp? Coz, 340hp=253kw & anyone can go fast in a straight line, esp if you have more power. I guess there were no twisty bits on this highway. I hope you realise the repercussions of those words on a Skyline forum. :headshot: For future reference dont think Spangers wants to hear about your latest kill or any of your other illegal racing exploits.
  11. :whip: You Vic's seem to get it harsh. But, seriously I read that u guys get a fine, thats provided you havent broken any other infringements at the time. Just speculating, but could they also put you on a curfew for breaching the power limit rule? Here in SA its much more lenient in regards to fines & demerit points (except with defects), & we dont have that power to weight limit rule for 'P' platers.
  12. I heard about these hybrid kidneys, apparently they flow just as good as the genuine items for everday use. Do you know if its a good upgrade, & will it fit a 1980model? If so I'll double Liam's bid.
  13. I have a Cheetah Pro-Stopper, which is probably the most over priced non-tracking, non-keypad 3point immobilser alarm on the market. I had upgraded from a Viper when first purchased. It has the usually features, which all good alarms should have (back up battery, dual shock sensors etc), with the added benefits of microwave motion sensors, pain-generator siren (ie. screamer siren), & strobe light (before u ask, thats to blind them). You might think well thats all well & good, but the appeal for me was the comfort of knowing the company/ dealer backs it up with a $1000 pay out, if someone manages to steal it. This is enough to cover my insurance excess, my car is insured for more than its real value (insurance job anyone??) . The dealer also, gives a free maintenance check of the system after the 1st yr & low check up fee there after . How many non-tracking car alarms offer that sort of security, service & peace of mind? At the same time I havent heard anything, but praise for the Brant Nemises. Oh yeah, I got a sticker with it too, does that make me a ricer??
  14. This is what Willshire Motor Trimmers here in SA did for a Skyline.
  15. I wouldnt think too many places would give warranty, but try Adelaide Jap Dismantlers, they're competitively priced. www.adelaidejap.com.au 19 Jacobsen Crescent, Holden Hill Phone 8369 1156.
  16. Quickly goin through that list, it reads like somethin from a fast'n'furious catalogue. Surprised it doesnt have a momo suck off valve, j/k Im no mechanic, but Im assuming this is a GTSt? The power figure (280ish' kw), which is impressive seems about right with that turbo setup. Provided you can get the power to the ground, it would be fair to say at least a 12sec car. At the same time the turbo would still be responsive down low (rpm) for everyday driving. Dont think you mentioned the amount of boost when it ran the 380hp, or the size of the injectors? Are any of the internals strengthened? Otherwise, I would think its on, if not over the limits of the factory internals. In regards to your mate's brother the mechanic, please prove me wrong that his ideal car is a not a Falcadore . I'd be interested to hear as to what he believes would be a 'good setup & make the car not go like a bucket'. I've yet to drive a Skyline at those power levels, but from my experience im sure it would handle better than a 270rwkw Supra :Paranoid: .
  17. HICAS is a 4 wheel steer controller, & the unit can be found in your boot. It normally comes into to play when you reach 80km/h. It depends on your brand, good ones normally have at least 3point or more (eg. Viper, Cheetah). Search the net if you know which model/ brand, otherwise go to a car alarm specialist & ask.

  19. Off-the-shelf I believe the AVC-R would be more suitable for your application. As SK mentioned you might consider the Jaycar IEBC kit, from what Ive read it has superior control over wast-gate creep & better throttle response/ control than most, if not, out of all EBCs. Thats why im taking my GReddy Profec B-II out & ordering the Jaycar IEBC.
  20. Hi lukeD welcome to the sau forums. Glad to hear the skyline is held in such high regard in your neck of the woods. $170K dammn :freak: you could get two for that price here...plus change. This will really depend on your occupation, & how long your willing to wait & save. Also, the cost of living here varies between the states. Im from South Australia & its a nice, quiet & an affordable place to live, & its home of the bigger 'top gun' Skylines in Australia. Have you considered your other options in the Skyline range, like the R34 GT-t or R33 GTR V-Spec? Cheers PK
  21. As you climb the RB engine hierachy obviously there will be more potential for the car. You might also want to keep the following in mind: - The RB20 has quite a few more common & interchangable parts with the RB26. - All the engines in the RB range can be replaced & mixed'n'matched (hybrid) with one another. But, stock for stock, despite the R32 being lighter I believe the R33 has it by a whisker down the 1/4 mile. Specs can be found here: http://www.skylinesdownunder.com/mod.php?m...2104&page_id=29 You would be hard pressed to break the diff in the Skyline's, you would need too be running some high power numbers before changing them.
  22. Im assuming its turbo right?? Its sluggish coz its got many restrictions placed on it (namely exhaust & intake) & these need to be replaced if you want better response. I believe in the auto theres a kick down when you plant your foot down & hit 70-80kms. This is where the trans will kick down to a lower gear, thus the sudden increase in torque. :bs!: Just coz its stock & auto doesnt mean it hasn't been thrashed around, Id still get an independent mechanic to check it out for you. Im told the auto is strong, but dont expect to last long if you plan to go over 200rwkw - I doubt it will last longer than a manual at those figures. Well depending on your budget Id still go for the manual. Theres like up to 20% power loss in the auto compared to the manual (correct me if im wrong) :bonk: . But it really depends on your preference. Obviously to achieve ETs of 13sec require $$$. You would do the exact mods as a manual would, except instead of a clutch/ fly wheel you would get an upgraded valve body & trans cooler. When you actualy do get a Skyline, come back & im sure everyone will be more than happy to talk specifics. Cheers PK
  23. How bout the actually 'power belt' itself, they can make a high pitchy metallic noise on start up & sometimes while turning. May need re-adjusting.
