  2. omfg its "Shiney" Daves car! good luck for the season!
  3. owned both.. definatly chaser, or mark 2 in my case, pretty much the same car. 1jzs are a lovely engine..
  4. i have one north side of brisbane.. pm if still needed..
  5. surely the gearbox price is a drop in the ocean in comparison to the rest of the engine build?? $1500 for a 300kw capable box is reasonable!!
  6. Looks like a power steering belt to me.. the good news is its the easiest to change out of all of them, the bad is that the others may not be in the best condition if they havent been changed in a while.
  7. and the battery volts shouldnt ever drop below 9.6V on crank, if it does its time for a newie!
  8. it will be the rubber bung that the stop light switch presses on. they perish and break away, then the switch stays out and on all the time. its a bit of a bugger to repair, unless you like standing on your head for half an hour!
  9. Hi im after a speedo sensor for a gts-t r33 manual gearbox. Its quite diffferent to r32 ones and s13 types. the drive unit is about 2 inches longer than a normal one. Does anyone have one of these?? Im located in Brisbane but will buy from anywhere, providing ive got a pic of it first. Please pm me or call 0417 794964 Thanks, Adrian.
  10. i can rebuild it for you?? im an auto sparky if you cant find one..
  11. id make a day out of it, go into town ect and book it in somewhere in brissy that specailises in imports..
  12. Honest to god prices would say a r33 rb25det 5 speed is worth $1500 second hand any day of the week, with some sort of warranty. Allow at leat another 1.5k for stuff as mentioned like pedal box and lines, clutch and flywheel, new flywheel nuts, gear box crossmember, tail shaft (or modify exsisting, around $350 mark last time ive done it) manual shifter surround, gear knob, and then labour to fit, dont forget reverse and neutral switch wiring, and thats for the standard gear. if you want a decent clutch and flywheel, id say costs would be around $4500- 6000 depending on clutch and how complete the conversion kit you get is. Ive always found cars converted from manual seem to be better cars, maybe because they have had a easier life and bought by a different type of owner from new. Both my S13 were autos converted, were at the time a lot tidier than others that i looked at.
  13. i love my GT-R, but I have been tempted after driving some evo 6es lately, thought about test driving one of those?? Ive driven heaps of wrxes and thought they were a bit too understeery.

    My Aircon Saga

if its the 10a fuse blowing in the inside fuse box (the one near the steering colum) ill be betting its a shorted compressor clutch. Mr cools diagnosis may be right. if your on the northside im an auto electrican may be able to help, although there is a few days booking in advance at the moment.
  15. the fan in r32's arnt designed to come in with a/c at all. they are an engine temp switched only (over 95 deg!!) there is a green plug that goes to a sender in the bottom tank in the radiator. it is possible to wire up via a diode to have it come on with a/c. any good auto elec should be able to do this for you or if your in brisbane i can help you out. they really do suffer from high a/c system pressures if it isnt wired in.

thats a pretty dissapointing story you have there ianb.. im an auto electrician id shoot myself if i didnt pick up that it was an eletrical fault within 5 minutes. the first thing i learned on the job was to check all the fuse that you could find! glad to hear its sorted although you may still have a problem if the fuse has blown, it may blow again.
  17. i have a center vent available.. pm me with an offer if you so wish..
  18. i thought i had a leak on my t-bodies once, seemed to pick up idle speeed when spraying the throttle shafts... ended up being the gasket between the head and the first part of the manifold. leaking at the back on number 5&6. was a bit more involved to remove, but sure did fix the problem. are those seals still soft, maybe reuse them and spray some silicone spray on to them to soften it up.
  19. its the ambient temperature sensor for your climate control..
  20. i used to think that the rb30/26 was the way to go until i saw this.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_bQR5nKB_I MINES 34gt-r, 25/30 hks turbos, Still 2.6L..
  21. tried swapping coil packs?? sounds a bit like an engine miss at revs. bit wierd its better when warm, but who really understands the magic of electricity!
  22. i say any car with an oil temp gauge has oil temperature control problems.. i have seen around the 130deg mark on my lightish tune 32 gt-r on a run through the hills before, certainly dont want to see it any higher than that. preferably around 100-110 deg max. ive got a hks cooler with thermostat ready to go on when i find the time.
  23. That happened to my car. the cams i was about to put in looked almost brand new. they were installed but fortunatly they broke before the covers went back on. the crack in the metal was there for a while, oil that was to lube the cam had penetrated the crack quite some way through which makes me think they were damaged or broken already. got tomei poncams now, all good!
  24. I think that the auto arm sucks as well, but its required as a part of the Australian standards, along with black wires ect ect. I have fitted mongoose to customers cars, seem like a good system!
