it is doeable without to much hassle actually. it is a common sidegrade with cefiro owners who want to drift. I have driven 2 cefiros with SR20s and about 4 with rb20's and the sr is better for drift and low down torque. talk to "to much boost" on the silviansw forums, he is a knowlagable bloke who has don the conversion hiself. he would be able to give you an exact rundown on what is needed and the cost. his is a very tidy job and performed very well Cheers

Injector Spraying Patterns, Need Help.
CEF11E replied to MZTRBO's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
GTR injectors FTW... the spray pattern is perfect and they are easier to tune with due to the idle issues with the 550's and you can pickup a set for around $250 -
The Next Ecu To Dominate The Sau Community?
CEF11E replied to pear's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
There are a few R34's that have had an R32 ecu wired in insted of the R34 ecu. this is due to the tunability of the factory R32 ecu. you can pick one up for $100 have it socketed for $30 and wired into your car for around $200 and you can even have nissan consult software checking everything and outputting it to a laptop for you. then any have to do is pay someone to tune it. There is one downside... VCT can not be controlled by an R32 ecu so you would need an aftermarket controller. includng a controller you could have it in, tuned and done for around $1000 good value IMO... -
Opinions: Perfect Power For Street?
CEF11E replied to Dean_HR31's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I have an RB20 with 240rwkw and it is useless on the street. much better if I turn the boost down and have 200rwkw, otherwise it just spins the wheels. ad as someone else pointed out I am already doing 100 by the time i change into third. it is fun winding it out in 2nd tho -

Shimmming Up The Viscous Diff Project Underway.
CEF11E replied to CEF11E's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I am still deciding what level of shimming to use. I bought 2 1.01 shims and think I will use one of those either side. I am not after a locked diff and the centre will not screw together with 3 shims in it there is a 1mm gap. I can not turn the centre at all by hand using the 1/2 shafts with the 2 1.1mm shims in so i presume it will be fairly tight. -

the half shafts have 29 splines. anyone have any experience with preload and diffs? can you give me any tips? Thanks! -
I am looking for a final drive for an r200 diff for my R32 that is 4.3 or 4.5 ratio. itf anyone has a set please pm me. Thanks!

Shimmming Up The Viscous Diff Project Underway.
CEF11E replied to CEF11E's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Let me guess? blocks of wood and a hammer? sure will count the 1/2 shaft splines today for you. The diff I am using is a S14diff with 3x2 halfshafts so I am not sure it will be the same. -

Shimmming Up The Viscous Diff Project Underway.
CEF11E replied to CEF11E's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks Salad, yep. I have pulled the centre apart and found there to be 2 preload washers 1 on the onderside of the viscous centre and one on the other sode of the spider gears carrier ( opposite ends of the housing) I found that when I put the second shim in the whole assembly would not screw down completly leaving a 1mm gap between the 2 halfs of the pumpkin. Did you find the same thing? -
Sliding Performance Hiflow Picks And Installationon Rb20det
CEF11E replied to CEF11E's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
My current tune was done on BP ultimate 98 octane. the first tune was done on 100ron purely because that ws what was in the tank and was in a hurry to get a safe tune hapening. the tune is 12:1 and running 21deg timing once peak torque is reached. I have since wound the boost down to 1bar for daily driving as 240kw is pointless without traction. i just bought an lsd and some decent tyres. I am thinking a dual stage boost controller would be nice. or atleast a single stage with a scramble button. -

The 3lt will be able to spool anything slide can throw at it with a decent response time. I would ove to see one of these on an rb30. What is your power goal cubes? -
I am looking for a pinion and ring gear for an R200 diff that is 4.3 ratio. I have just picked up a diff but it has a 4.11 ratio and it's not ideal for an rb20 with a big turbo If anyone wants to swap great! or if someone has a 4.3 I am willing to buy it. I need one in the next week or the 4.11 wil have to go in the car Thanks all

You can buy a brand new Kaaz for $1000 so not knowing exactly what it is you are more likely to get $500 for it that is what a GTR mechanical centre is worth

Shimmming Up The Viscous Diff Project Underway.

Yep, I will bo doing it myself. the Pinion and crown wheel have to be aligned. Most diff places align it with a hammer! -

How Much Does A Rb20det/rb25det Gearbox Weigh
CEF11E replied to AHH31's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
That's because it IS an sr20box apart from the shifter location -
I have just picked up a S14 R200 diff with viscous centre and have ordered the OEM nissan shims and plan on removing the current shims and installing 1.01 mm ones (factory ones are 0.80mm) There are 2 shims in the LSD and this will take the total preload up .42mm offering a tighter than factory viscous LSD. you can install 1 shim plus the 2 already there bringing the total up to 2.40mm but you will basically have a locked diff and are risking the spider gears binding. The LSD cost me $100 and the shims about $10 each. and anything has to be better than an open wheeling diff. I am not expecting a mechanical 2 way or anything but will be happy with anything better than current. The Diff I have in my car at the moment has a 4.3 ratio and the diff I have just bought has a 4.08 ratio. I don't really want to pull my old diff apart and am thinking of just using the 4.08 pinion and ring gear. How much difference will there be? between the 2 ratios? I have never really understood final drive ratios. Also can you measure nissan diff ratios from the number of teeth on the ring gear? the one I have just got has 37 teeth. I would really like to confirm it's ratio is 4.08. Can anyone in the know about ratios please comment. Thanks! I will post up the results as soon as it is in. I am installing it on the weekend. I have heard some really good results and will keep you all posted.

Here is a tried and tested method for 220 to 240rwkw. Sliding performance RB25 hiflow for RB20 $900 Oil line fabricated $80 GTR injectors and resistor pack $320 GTR pump $100 Intercooler kit $345 Exhaust batmbl split dump $380 xforce catback $475 Metal cat 3" stainless cat $300 ECU remap $330 Z32 AFM $250 Possibly splitfires $600 hiflow panel filter $80 so you are looking at $4000 for the basics you will have full boost of around 18psi by 4100rpm.

Sliding Performance Hiflow Picks And Installationon Rb20det
CEF11E replied to CEF11E's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Had my final power figure confirmed about a week ago and have been a bit laxzy at posting the results. at 19psi the car is making 241rwkw boost comes on strong at 4100 and pulls like a train. I have major traction issues so the car does not feel any faster than it did at 210rwkw. I have an open wheeling diff and fairly narrow tyres 215's once boost comes in hard it just spins all the way to third and 100kmph. with better traction via lsd and wider tyres it should be fairly fast in a strait line. I am not really interested in 1/4 times but will take it to the track when I have the time. (no track in canberra) for daily driving there is a really nice fat power band and it pulls really hard. even better on the twisty stuff It has taken quite a bit of effort to get the car to this stage and had been rewarding. the little R32 is a nice little package now
