  1. looking at your results roy, it would appear it could well be a 20 still. is there any way to confirm without pulling the head off?
  2. I have been having a really good look at a few things and have come to the conclusion that my RB20 is may well be an RB22. I took the timing belt cover off tonight to find that it has a new looking aftermarket timing belt. that didn't add up as the previous owner said it was due to be changed. then on further inspection i dug through old receipts to find when the timing belt was done and found a receipt for 6 81mm 4agze pistons... go figure. I guess i am really happy about it I really can't confirm it is the case without taking the head off. seeing as Simon is making 225rwkw the results are almost identical. Now i am puzzled....
  3. getting mine fitted at gastune next week. i am supplying cerametallic 5 puck button, fluid and bearing. so just labour and i have been quoted $360 and that includes swaping over the gearbox. that is not really any more work once you have the old box out.
  4. Hi mate, you will want to speak to Dr Drift in melbourne, he will remap the stock ecu for you and am sure he can set up map switching for you. price wize talk to him i think he charges $350 = dyno time? power fc is gone no longer in production you should try searching for all the info you need using the search button rather than starting a new thread. cheers!
  5. I have 215 maxxis tyres and while they are good with your boot in it once it hits 5000rpm in 2nd you loose all acceleration due to wheel spin I am going to wind it back down to 1bar for normal use it is much more practical there. cant really help out with the other graphs unless i pay the dyno man more money and he has plenty of mine already I think what i am pushing is pretty much the max the turbo will flow on an RB20. I did a bit of testing while it was there. 1. the stock rubber intake pipe was not closing at this power level, however the dyno operator said they usually do past 220rwkw. 2. removing the panel filter and just running 1/2 an air box with no filter made no difference at all. the stock air box is fine for this power level. 3. the stock BOV holds 18psi with no problems. 4. my clutch is now slipping and a 5puck cerametallic is going in next week with a new gearbox. 5. skylines are almost as expensive as a well formed crack habit. 6. sliding performance turbos will probably help you pick up girls
  6. yep the dip is an effort to keep it slightly rich when it reaches peak torque. it it probably a little over enthusiastic. but better that than knock at 18psi I have an old printout of torque when the car was making 204rwkw with the same turbo but just quick tune, Jeff from TSL can probably organise a printout of torque and rpm starting lower. I think Simon's car is making very similar power? i think i read 225 somewhere? There will be almont no difference in between our cars. the difference between 220rwkw and 240rwkw on an RB20 with the same turbo will be more wheelspin
  7. I went to get a copy of the last run i did but couldn't find it. so we put it back on the dyno did another run. It looks a lean up top but it is just as he came off throttle. sorry about the stupid scaling for the RPM. i didn't ask for any particular scale. the ramp rate looks ridiculous but if it started from 3000 rmp it would look more normal
  8. R32 Skyline - RB20DET Sliding Performance RB25 Hiflow for RB20 RB20 turbo wastegate BOS importing split dump/front pipe, 3" meatalcat, 3" stainless catback TRUST tube and fin FMIC GTR 444cc injectors GTR fuel pump Remapped factory ECU by me turbotech boost controller NGK copper plugs gapped to 0.8 Splitfire coilpacks Splitfire panel filter Stock cams, airbox, BOV, 18PSI non shootout mode done in 4th gear on 30deg day if you look at the sheet the scaling from rpm starts at 800rpm??? so the ramp rate looks ridiculous. didn't notice till after i left the workshop pretty happy with the results. it made 241rwkw a few weeks earlier but i cant find the sheet. Might put a exhaust cam gear on and see if i can get it to come on boost earlier.
  9. yep. the old cams always come in once you are pushing relative high psi into a small capacity motor. I don't really want to spent any more money on the setup other than regular servicing. wow you really are making some good numbers with such low timing. I am running quite a lot more. there are no knock issues at all even with 22deg.
  10. everything still available. also have stock black front bar fro r32gtst $50 Also have ECU remap for R32 skyline with the following mods Rb25 turbo, frontmount, 3" exhaust, gtr fuelpump, 14psi. from memory it made 192rwkw. $50 all you need to do is have put in your stock ECU
  11. RB coilpacks from a Cefiro will fit into a CA. the ones from an R32 are different Cheers
  12. I have been a bit slack getting a dyno sheet up. i forgot to get a printout done last time i had it tuned. I will swing by the dyno place and get a copy to post it here I have 2 tunes running on the car at the moment. both on the same chip in the stock ECU. there is a switch set up on the dashboard and you switch between tunes 1. is tuned for daily driving and makes 241rwkw at 19psi. (usually wind boost down for practical purposes) 2. makes around 215rwkw at 16psi and is a bit richer and has less timing . it is just a more conservative tune and is used at track days and drifting. it feels like 2 different cars to drive on the different tunes. I was going to get a cam gear installed when the new timing belt goes on next week but i am not sure it will make a big difference. it dosen't really need more power but if it made a reasonable difference in midrange or response it would be worthwile. who has an exhaust cam gear on a RB20 with decent size turbo? and what were the results? Thanks
  13. OMFG!!! what did you do to my old car tom!!! it actually looks pretty tough. Intercooler connected to anything yet? remember I can remap the ecu for you when you get to that.
  14. I had thought about getting a RB30e decking the head so you get a 10:1 comp ratio. then putting on 6 throttle bodies from a GTR and retain injection 250 for the motor 300 for the throttle bodies few $$$ for fabricating you would need to do away with the AFM and work out some way to read air volume like a MAF.
  15. I am now 29 and have wasted 10 years of earnings on fun, cars, parties. I had a really good time but if i had bought a place even 5 years ago i would have been so much better off. I would only have had to borrowed $200,000. Now i need to borrow double that to buy a house I would be happy to live in. I have been saving now for 12 months and have a meaty deposit going. but will be saving for atleast another year before i buy. Keep the R32 and buy a house that you can rent. you will thank yourself for it in even 3 years.
  16. Yep. very good point this is a great site and it's about time i donated... how do i go about donating? never mind just worked it out I guess $25 ins't much but as Beer Baron said, if everyone here donated $25 we wouldn't have this problem. Cheers
  17. Might try and see if I can get a couple of sponsors to help the site along. I am not complaining, someone has to pay for this fantastic resource. what are the costs involved in placing banner adds? I will try and drum up some advertisers. pm me with details if possible Cheers!
  18. an R200 will not break pinions or ring gears they are very strong. there are 400rwkw cars not breaking them the viscous centre not hold up to it. you will need a minispool or a decent mechanical lsd.
  19. at 8:40am on friday I noticed there was a poker banner add on the forums and wondered if it was supposed to be there. it's the sort of add you would expect to be a pop up. has it been hacked into the site? or are they a sponsor? just curious as there are a lot of younger members on here. Thanks!
  20. well done mate, I know you have been trying to get a good figure for a while you got your spark issue sorted out with the splitfires? That's a great result Cheers
  21. r32woohoo I have the same turbo as you and on the RB20det. full boost 19psi is about 4100. boost starts building at around 3000 i am running GTR injectors and pump big fmic, 3" turboback and metalcat. the car is making 240rwkw and is good to drive once you get used to the lag. I tuned the stock ECU and it runs perfect 12:1 AFR's If you want I can burn you a copy of my tune and just modify it to suit your injectors and afm. pm me if you are interested
  22. Photos Please! yep was a fun day. my car is still filthy in all the wrong places. I will be going again next month on the 3rd or 4th. this time with a gearbox that dosent go CRUNCH... really keen to see if I was actually getting any angle or just spinning the wheels
  23. I have had a Cefiro and an R32 (2 door) but a mate has an R32 4 door. Cefiro is a bit bigger and a lot of people really like the shape. their steering feels more lke a S13 than an R32 and they look awsome when modded. they have the same engine and box but there are a few differences all the plugs on the cefiro loom are different to R32. different AFM, different cams and different ECU. The cefiro makes more torque low down and the skyline ,makes more power up top in standard from but once you mod them they will be exactly the same. cefiro has more interior room but less sporty interior. it all comes down to what is available when you are ready to buy, I would have to say a kitted cefiro looks better than a R324door there are more parts available for R32's but it is still easy to get bits for cefiros. I am going to get flamed for this but the cefiro drifts better than a r324door and attracts less police attention and the insurance on them is less. My 2c
  24. Hi Gary, I think the stabilizer bars will suit my needs and would like to order a set just need to make sure. I have an R32GTS that has had the RB20det put in and RB20det gearbox. I currently have a set of king springs and new shocks (not sure what sort without getting really dirty. but they perform ok at this stage. I want to lower the amount of body roll I am getting and decrease understeer. I know nothing about suspension so please excuse my ignorance, but it looks like stabilizer bars should be the next step. I also do not know the spring rate i am running. Will these bars fit the R32 GTS and do they come with the needed mounting brackets and bushes? I don't appear to have stabilizer bars there at all at the moment. please let me know if I need anything else and how much both bars will be delivered to canberra. thanks!
  25. I will take the BOV... PM sent
