New 5spoke Black Dished Rims New Tyre
CEF11E replied to hiboostgtr's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Take them back champ... VORK RAVS... haha they are cheap copies of VOLK RAYS!!! get your money back champ. -
dangerous, very dangerous. get it replaced right away if enough fuel leaks out and causes a vapor it could ignite with turbo under bonnet temps. I had the same problem and replaced the injector without driving the car.
-
put the car on the dyno and see what the AFR's are like and make sure it is not pinging. you will find mines tunes are really rich infact usually 10:1 or even richer.

Hi Cambo. Yes it can be done but it gets expensive very quickly With The S14 there are 2 different types of ECU. 1 can be tuned and the other not. You need to fit a daughter board with 2 eproms. the daughter board is $100 eproms a few $$$ and than tuning. all up including dyno time you would be looking at between$600 and that is if your ECU is the tunable one if not you would have to hunt around for the correct ECU and would probably pay $200 for one. by that stage you are into Power FC territory.

Good to see we are almost there. I can get some video footage.

Stuff To Replace During Clutch Change
CEF11E replied to (B1) MR_fanny's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yep also replace the spigot bush and replace the front seal on the gearbox as the no1 cause for worn clutches is oil... -
I have now been tuning ECU’s for about 2 years and have had excellent results. I have tuned everything from completely stock cars to highly modified with larger injectors, turbos, AFM and even methanol injection. I have currently have the equipment to tune R32, Cefiro, Silvia, 180SX, Laurel, 300ZX and a few others. I can not tune R33 skylines due to the chip used. I have all the equipment and have the ability to do map tracing and socketing ecu’s. All you have to do is pay for the dyno time and a bit to cover my costs. You would have to allow for 2 hours dyno time and $50 for my efforts and cost of chips, sockets, travel, and time. Normally people would charge a minimum of $350 for this service. You will get a new fuel and timing map to suit your mods, speed limiter and rev limit set to whatever you want, mass AFM sensing will be removed so no more “boost cut” and all will be checked on the dyno. You will have better power delivery and in most cases improved economy and heaps more power. What I will want in return is a before and after printout of the dyno runs to show the performance gain achieved. Mainly so I can have some testimony from customers. That’s all I ask Below is a couple of graphs of cars tuned by me. R32 skyline RB20DET Slide hiflow, Stock injectors, RB20AFM, GTR fuel pump 14psi. R32 skyline RB20DET Slide hiflow, GTR injectors, RB20AFM, GTR pump 18psi. If you are interested please PM me. Thanks!

you can adjust it a bit. there was a post on clutch adjustment recently. -
Exedy Cushion Button Clutch. Your Thoughts In A R32 Gtr
CEF11E replied to black sky's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I would have to say after having one in for the last month, it is not the best choice. it performs fine and is nice and bitey. but it shudders at low speed takeofs and in reverse. the best clutch to get will be from Jim Berry. and will not cost you much more than the exedy -
Paintball LOL!!! are we ever going to get to shoot each other? I have no idea what is going on but Daniel, you seem to have 2 different stories. just pick one and stick with it. there are some fairly annoyed people here... I don't give a F#$K about the money, but I do care about the ACT skyline community. its good to have a bunch of like minded people to talk to and meet up with. and causing this S#%TFIGHT is dividing people. we really don't need that. I have no idea how this all started and it is none of my business, but involving 15+ people that have all organised to go to an activity has made it everybody's business. Like others have said Jon is doing his best to reorganize the day. It seems like you are trying to cause trouble Daniel. We don't need that here

I think you will get VERY close to your power goal with the hiflow. I am making 240rwkw on an RB20 with a slide hi flow at 18psi. I am sure there are guys making this on RB25's with 16psi? just checked RB25 turbo upgrade thread. there is 1 person making 265rwkw at 17psi and another person making 235rwkw on 13psi
-
you will notice a BIG difference. 240rwkw in an R32 is a handfull. a lot of fun but it takes a bit of thinking before you give the throttle a stab. please upgrade your brakes

haha!!! we live undead

there would still be gains to be had even form a stock turbo. the amount of overlap Nissan designed was a compromise between response and power and emissions. with the amount of overlap they run stock you get a longer cleaner burn but less power. so you may gain some midrange power with a stock turbo but there would be cheaper ways of getting the same performance increase from a relatively standard car. You can buy one of the arospeed cam gears for $70 but a mechanic would charge you $200 to install it and you will need to pay for atleast an hour of dyno time to get a confirmed result. so it would end up costing you almost $400. For that amount you could buy and install front+dump pipe, FMIC, SAFC or a boost controller. all of these will give you good gains. the cam gear is really something you would do after the more common mods. very worth while if you have already done the basics. After going for a nice long drive lastnight i can say boost comes on just that bit earlier and makes a big difference in how the car behaves.

Who Makes A Good 3" Catalytic Convertor
CEF11E replied to Forged's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The metal cats are excellent. i have one and gained 12rwkw between in and a so called "hiflow 3" the stainless is also really good quality. -
was good to se a few people there last night. It was also really good to meat Jim. he really knows his stuff and I learned a few new things.
-
without tune yes there was more response but it was leaning out. so i have already added fuel and there is more response but no more peak power. I am only speculating as i have not had it on a dyno. but it comes on boost faster yes

I have retarded the timing on my RB20 by exhaust cam by 4deg running 19psi with a slide hiflow and have noticed the difference right away. Firstly the A/F ratio went from a flat 12:1 to a bell curve starting at 12:1 at 3400 and leaning out to 12.6:1 at 5000 and then settling back down to 12:1 at 7000. I used a tech edge with data logging to measure this. I have reset the base timing to 15deg as it actually dropped 3 deg after retarding the cam timing. The car is now coming on boost slightly quicker and hits full bost around 200-400 rpm quicker depending on the gear and the midrange FEELS more responsive. peak power feels the same but it gets there quicker so the whole package feels faster. I added fuel to compensate and bring the AFR's back to a safer level and keep it to 12:1 as close as possible. I have not touched the timing map as there is no detection of knock. I use a modified condenser microphone connected to a laptop recording in real time and can be referenced to the rpm scale of datascan. so all in all looks like quite a decent gain. seat of the pants tells me there is no more power just power earlier in the rev range and let's face it all RB20's need earlier power delivery.

Anyone going out tonight? Jim Berry is going to be there. so if you want to know about clutches he would be the man to speak to. the more the better Cheers will be turning up about 9:30

looks like Jim will be coming. anyone that wants to know anything about a clutch be there -
electric cutout exhaust anyone??
CEF11E replied to (B1) MR_fanny's topic in General Automotive Discussion
wouldn't the turbulance when the unit is closed massivly restrict exhaust gas flow? -
its not really a DIY. I have done it a few times and have the tools but it can be done if you have a puller and access. sometimes you need to take out the radiator to get access

"nissan Consult" Computer Interface Cable
CEF11E replied to MoogLe's topic in General Automotive Discussion
single most useful thing i have for my car. if you use nissan datascan you can do map tracing. download your fuel and ignition maps. log data, errot test. 101 useful things. the software that laptop comes with is datascan
