  1. 350Z was sold locally.. no possible way to import it, legally, or even illegally. Its really not too easy to "sneak" a whole car through the whole customs process and the many checks that are done. Give up that idea.
  2. Gearbox strength should not be an issue, and even if it was the GTS-T gearbox is as strong as the GTR one. Differential likewise. The only thing you may need to look at would be the brakes, which would probably require an upgrade to GTR specs or so. Depending on your power levels, there isn't obviously going to be any factory 400hp or so (?) car to base anything on. You may just need to visit a few more engineers to get their opinion.
  3. there is always sunnies
  4. I like the interior. I think most of the work was done by the previous owner, as I saw a car remarkably similar on carsales a couple of months back.
  5. very sad What can you say really...
  6. Just a bit of a FYI for anybody interested in converting their R31 3L into a 3L turbo using parts off a VL Turbo.. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=56630 I would really love to do the turbo conversion in the r31 just to see what happens.. but looks like its going to have to remain the sensible daily driver alternative when the other is being worked on.
  7. Decided I'm no longer going to turbo my R31, and instead put the money to better use on my other car. So have all the following VL Turbo parts available.. most of them are all that is required for a turbo conversion on rb30e. Not very negotiable on prices, as I know these can be difficult to track down, and it took me a while. $150 RB30ET std. injectors $150 RB30ET auto ecu (will work in manual fine) $200 RB30ET manifold $100 RB20DET piping + stock intercooler These will be useful if you're going to use a stock VL T3 turbo: $70 RB30ET Crossover $60 RB30E cast dump pipe from turbo. Strap these to an RB30E and push 130rwkw+ in your R31.. A nice match for any stock R32 or R32 All are in VGC. Can provide photos if you are really interested. Number is 0417 016 326..
  8. I like the fact that the bonnet doesn't close and there are all gaps everywhere.. other than that
  9. a trolley jack!
  10. Ahh.. Officer Pettite took that bribe to bust your ass so easily too
  11. I will give you a call once I have the car ready on the road in a couple of weeks. Have the cooler, just need to get the pipework to fit a 32.
  12. I always thought it was a great idea to also have a photo gallery of parts as well as the part numbers, so people can readily indentify common parts on the RB series engines, and know exactly they are looking for. Or to be able to quickly spot the signs for certain components for s1 and s2 engines, etc, etc.
  13. I am interested in a high powered one, depending on the discount. RRP is listed as $99 on the site
  14. your luck is starting to get almost as good as mine back last year when i got defected, EPA'ed and then crashed into in about 2 weeks... lets hope this is not the start of the VIC curse for your car! Better get those voodoo mofos to sacrifice some chickens on your car or something before its too late! guess its the last week of the month, have to expect the revenue police to be out in force. Pretty much a "why bother" defect though, other than the funds.. the sphincter of the universe munchers!
  15. I love it when new sites try to big-note themselves like that.. when they have stuff all members and nobody knows about them
  16. yeah, he is renown .. even i know who he is
  17. Thats no good man A car with continuing problems is just a nightmare. Sorry to hear its got so many troubles.. over in japan, sometimes there idea of "fixing" isn't much better than your very worst b-grade mechanic over here - you hear some terrible stories.
  18. well true, its really his money, he can do with the car what he likes! much as it was a nice car (well it looked nice) all as one. But I am actually serious about the gearbox, as I need it for what I am doing... have the cash right here and will be driving down to melb at xmas for about 2 weeks. Maybe even the clutch (is it a twin plate?). Can't seem to find any decent rb25 gearboxes up here at the moment. Anyhow, keep it in mind.
  19. speed limits throughout australia are too low IMHO for safe driving most of the time.. its just the few ****heads that can't drive that spoil it for everybody else.

    Not Fkn Happy

yeah.. maybe they just knew who you were?
  21. man.. ni if u rape that cefiro anymore you're going to get thrown in jail!! May as well sell that nice motor it has as well.. I'll give you $1200 for the gearbox.. pickup December
  22. guy who I bought my engine off had another RB25 running twin turbos in a VL.. went pretty well he said... can be done... people are a bit dismissive of it, but if done correctly I think it can be a good combination.
  23. bah Ash.. you should have done more research on your pump before you bought it! The pumps are not rated at the pressure on boost.. so in a turbo application they will not flow 500hp but at fairly std. boost levels, strangely enough only about 250rwkw-270rwkw.. This has been covered on here. 270rwkw is plenty for many people, depending on their applications or goals.. otherwise of course something like a Bosch 044 (at nearly twice the cost!) is more suitable. There is actually a higher-HP Walbro than the "standard" 255L available as well.. nobody really talks about those.
  24. SAU Nickname: Predator Car Make and Model: skyline R31 1986 Circuit Name: Qld Raceway - Sprint & Clubman Best Lap time: 1:18:55 (78s) Date: 17/11/04 Modifications: extractors, full exhaust, 'bout it Engine: RB30E Power: bugger all and none (~80rwkw) Suspension: stock Trans: Auto Tyres: retreads! Brakes: Ferrodo Body weight: std (~1300kg) === First time out, its a pissy time, but then again nearly a stock R31 with 330,000km on the clock.. lol Just here for reference I guess for anybody else with an old r31
  25. Well my initial estimate from prestige was pretty much dead on, up to about $50.. Here is the breakdown I got from customs the other week: Duty : $979 Freight: $882 Port Service Charges: $155.85 Delivery Order: $45 Quaranteen Fee: $203.50 Quaranteen Attendance: $95 Cartage: $75 Postage & Petties: $12 (their lunch that day ) Agency: $150 Documentation: $35 Redline: $45 == Sub Total: $2678.30 GST: $61.29 Total: $2739 Original FOB price + Agent Fee was $4500 .. so you are paying about 25% of the original purchase price on duty I think in the end.
