  1. Thanks R31Nismoid, will see if I can do any better, otherwise that should be the go. Then I can sell off the R34 GTR springs when I get the old springs back in
  2. Any new offers? Open to negotiation on steering wheel or boss kit, I can offer a lower price if you want the boss kit and steering wheel together .
  3. Hi, I've been quoted approx $25/spring for sand blasting, just want to know if that sounds like a reasonable price? Currently the Ohlins coilovers that were in the GTR were removed because they were "rusted out" during compliance. The rust is minor on the springs and the shocks appear to be fine. The rust could easily be removed by sand blasting from what I can see. Does anyone know the approx price? I've just emailed a few random companies out of the yellow pages for quotes, is $25 per spring about right? Regards, Gareth
  4. Hi, My car came with a HKS IV (in American terms) I found the manual here: http://www.hksusa.com/faq/?ID=1647 And my offset appears to be set to "86" when the setting is "Low". I still don't understand what this means, does this mean that because the boost controller has not been through learning mode it overestimates boost a little and the offset corrects this? Also, the "low" is set to 0.85, which is the stock boost? And the "high" is set to 1.0, which I assume is 1 bar of boost at maximum. What does the offset mean? And do you use the learning mode? Obviously I can't use learning mode until I get to a drag strip or similar, 2K RPM in 3rd gear to redline???? Also, if the battery is disconnected, does the boost controller store its settings in memory of some kind? I *assume* it would but I'm not 100% sure. Regards, Gareth P.S. no idea what turbo's I am running! I *assume* they're not completely stock but I don't know how to ID them.
  5. Wheel size is 350mm in diameter.
  6. Price-drop $80 for Boss kit. $200 for steering wheel. Or $270 for both kit and steering wheel. Melbourne pickup is ok.
  7. According to: http://www.modyourcar.com.au/product_info....products_id=669 Its worth $114.45 brand new. I am willing to sell it for $85. I don't know how to tell if its airbag or hicas type, the Momo steering wheel certainly didn't have an airbag.
  8. Interested in coming to this event, I just need to find out if paint ball is happening this weekend or not. And I'm coming alone so that always makes things harder Oh, can someone please fix the spelling of "stupidty" in the advertisement?
  9. Pods will make it louder, I have some for sale as I'm sticking to the airbox to attract less attention (or at least I think I can attract less attention that way ). I have K&N pods for sale if your looking for some, not sure how much noise they make though. Apologies for taking this a little off topic. Do the stock BOV's make a "psshht" sound on some gear changes? Been trying to work out if my BOV's are atmosphere venting or not (its got a tuned ECU and it runs perfectly fine). So that weird grinding noise that sounds like something is broken when you attempt to slip the clutch is normal? I apparently have a OS Giken twin plate). Of course normal driving its ok, and changing gears is ok too. Regards, Gareth P.S. aren't "dose" pipes illegal?
  10. Sorry to drag this back up but its just curiosity if someone has a few minutes. The first mod appears to be an oil filter relocation kit, but the oil filter is located under the drivers side plenum, tucked away so its basically inaccessible and we couldn't get it off for the oil change. There appeared to be no room to insert a tool there AND there was some bracket right underneath the oil filter, not sure what if it was attached to the filter or not. The filter looks different to the usual one, its black and has some writing starting with "AFL..." and some words underneath that I can't read, it also looks smaller than the stock filter but I'm not sure about that yet. I haven't seen any oil cooler unless its hidden somewhere. Is having the filter in that position where it is always put on a GTR? Under the drivers side (plenum?) and tucked away so deep you cannot see it from above unless you look at it from either the front or side of the car? You can see it from underneath (just) but can't reach it Regards, Gareth
  11. drifter_r33 read the damn thread, its got plenty of information of what to use. 5w50 doesn't sound like the best oil for a GTR, Mobil1 0w40 is said to be good. So is German Castrol, 5w40 and 0w30, RoyalPurple, Redline (expensive but very good) and Motul 300V(?) (also expensive). 4.75 litres is the amount for an oil change including a filter, I don't know how much your oil cooler would need.
  12. I used German Castrol 5w40 for the last change, car seems to run fairly smooth, didn't seem to quieten down the lifters too much... It hasn't got over 85 degrees yet in the GTR but it wasn't been driven too hard. I might be able to go German Castrol 0w30 which would apparently be even better for the engine. Oh, and read the in-depth discussion here if you want to know what's best for your engine: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/go...0&start=760 Edit: Oops, most of the info I refer to was R33 GTR. The oil thread is mostly RB engines too, it wouldn't hurt to discuss the V35 info as well. I didn't know there as a V-series section of the forums...
  13. Item: K&N Dual/Twin pod filters with full attachment Age: Unknown Condition: Good, one filter is slightly damaged (2cm*2cm square patch is crushed in a little) other is perfect Price: $80 ONO (can ship interstate) To Fit: R33 GTR (should fit any GTR...I think) Location:Melbourne Contact: PM me! All reasonable offers will be considered, just drop me a pm or post here and I will try to reply as soon as possible.
  14. Willing to separate boss kit and steering wheel if required...
  15. This happened to me, except I was *in* the intersection stuck in traffic when the light went red, problem was my rear wheels were touching the end of the pedestrian crossing . I got the fine after challenging them.
  16. My car went through compliance recently and the low beam xenons stay on with high beam. Not sure if compliance did this or not but if Vicroad's want it, fix it! Otherwise you just give the police another thing to do a minor defect on if there bored.
  17. If there was a single false photograph on the redlight camera the entire film is destroyed (or at least that's what Tenix claim). So if the lights were failing when you went through they should not take it any further. But, red light camera's are a little hard to miss, if they are doing a right turning lane then they are usually mounted just before the turning lanes.
  18. This is not true in R33 GTR's. I do not understand exactly the technical side but it relates to something been pre-loaded in the front (which did not happen in R32 GTR's)... and this causes damage if you run it in RWD mode, do some searching and you will find the information. The most common technique is to disconnect the front driveshaft if you want RWD mode in an R33 GTR (I think thats the correct terminology)...
  19. Ok sure, the gearbox is not notchy or difficult to engage from memory. The front and rear LSD's appear to be very tight, the front clunks on gear change, does that mean I use a little more additive in the front? And for very tight LSD's is Redline Lightweight shockproof OR 75w90 make more sense? (both diff's seem to be tight) I have the quarts of MTL for the gearbox for now, I will see how that goes after the change I guess Edit: Oil change complete now. The rear diff is the one whining and clunking, maybe the front was making some noise before but its silent after adding Redline Lightweight shockproof. It had a clear oil in it when it was drained (clear/white sort of colour). Haven't done the gearbox but engine in running smoothly on Castrol 5w40, hasn't gotten over 85 degrees yet but hasn't been driven too hard. Still very noisy lifters but thats probably normal. Also did transfer case with some Penrite fully synthetic dextron 3, front diff seems to engage a bit more often now (not just on when turning and accelerating). Thanks for the reply.
