I agree that getting into motorsport requires more than a little bit of effort, it like any good sport requires a genuine interest, and you need to be prepared to spend a few $$$ to get in there an do it.
Obviously there are a number of different level which you can compete in, and so it can be as simple as bring long sleeves and a helmet, all the way through to category racing.
I still think it would be a good idea to have the sticky thread which contains facilities, events, and requirements to enter, so we make it as easy as possible for people to get involved in motorsport, but at the end of the day it does boil down to individuals making a choice.
In the upcoming SAUWA General Meeting, we'll be proposing that for members to continue annual membership, that they'll be required to complete a driver training course (or compete in a motorsport event). We hope that this will in some way improve the overall standard of driver skills, and open up more opportunities for people to get into motorsport.
