  1. I think i may have not made my point too clearly about oversteer. There are a few ways for a car to loose traction. 1. Over power the wheels with power (common RWD) 2. Overpower the tyres [Crappy tyres on rear or front causing under/oversteer (think something like ice driving)] 3. Overweight the tyres (Heavy car into tight corner understeer) 4. Crappy suspension set up Now, the suspension is set up pretty damn well and i think SK did a great job on choosing parts, because mid corner the car is BRILLIANT, IMO and my passengers aka the people who call me crazy (in a wagon that be too ) There is only so much of 1, 2 and 3 that you can correct with improving 4, you can only effectly remove a certain portion. Just because you put a massive swaybar on an overpowered honda doesnt mean it will 100% balance the car". Just gotta try and balance as much as you can. Now, by making the rear swaybar harder you are essentially going to overpower the lateral traction of the rear tyres with the weight of the car (suspension wont absorb as much energy, so its pushed down into the tyre/road contact area). So the car wont really loose traction unless you are at the limits of the car + tyres. Ive found that the corner speeds i do, on my private sealed road hill climb track, are within the limits of my car+tyres+swaybar setup so ive decided to put on a bit more rear swaybar so that when the car eventually DOES loose it a bit mid corner, it will be oversteer rather than understeer (highly doubt you can "balance"ly loose a car, so its gonna be either over or understeer) So Brendan, the car wont be more "taily" in normal driving conditions unless you are a very quick and hard driver, but i know that im not exactly slow though, all the time. If you want more rear-ness of the car, get an Atessa controller and change the bias for a daily drive. Oh, a harder rear sway setting may also help you slide around if you like getting sideways in the wet. For me, its a good balance of wet drift/mountain. Disclaimer - Dont take my knowledge as gospel, thats just my view/mindset of how things work.
  2. I beleive i am the same as SK, but not sure. I think i may even have the fronts on full soft an rear on full hard. I prefer a car thats a bit taily as i like to control oversteer more than understeer. I find the weak link in my car is no longer the suspension its the weight and the tyres. So next set of rubber i will be buying will be some expensive stuff, to compare hankooks to top dollar tyres. Maybe some Pilots, T1-R's or P-Zero Neros. I find the car these days doesnt understeer coz of the suspension, as when mid corner the car doesnt tend to understeer, its just on entry, the weight just pushing the bitch. Ill sort some brake pads too, going to get some endless SSS's and see how they help too.
  3. I have some news for everyone. SOOOO, as I do, I have been reading through FAST and checking out what parts are from where. So get this. My car is built 97/08. Now, there was a model change in August 1998 and one thing they changed was the rear brakes (was checking to see if SK was right the rears were R31 pads) So, my car, being a newer revision, has R34 N/A rear pads and Nissan Cima Y33 front pads. So I did some investigation and found that..... cars pre-97/08 dont actually share the same brakes as me. According to FAST, the rear brake pads for the cars pre-mine are R33 N/A, R32 N/A and a heap of others, not R34 like mine and the front pads are the same until 98/08 Just keep that in mind when making any brake kits SK, as if i had bought them, i would have found out there was a revision in the brakes a little to late ($$ wasted) Though, we could still confirm this by actually testing it car against car.
  4. For my car Part number is 25240-89920- Oddly, FAST thinks that its dissimilar to any skyline but similar to S-series cars. Thats the best I can do. I did replace my oil pressure switch before, but i cant find the part number for it
  5. Can you supply a set of ENDLESS pads for the Stagea WGNC34 97/08? The brakes are the same as a Nissan Cima. Id be interested in NA-S's. Also, endless doesnt supply rotors do they?
  6. I think HICAS is more of an issue in RWD cars where people are more used to stepping out than in 4WD cars. I could see how the system would piss me off if i am trying to powerslide.
  7. Dont see you much around here any more - Have we actually somewhat solved all the Stagea issues?
  8. S1 Front rotors - Stagea Specific Front brake pads - Stagea/Y33 cima specific Rear wheel bearings - S14/Z32/R33/R34 will fit Front diff housing - R33 GTR part Handbrake pads - Basically standard across the whole Nissan range. R33/R34 will fit Oddly, the rear drive shaft assembly is from the V35 and Stageas only (checked only one side) Supposedly the front strut brace is stagea specific, but to me looks like R34 spec S2 Might interest you guys, the rear shock so FAST says on the MT cars is stag specific with the fork at the bottom
  9. Funky you are in luck buddy, with the new trade practices legistation, i vote for FIRE THE GUY THAT DOES THE POSTAL RUN!
  10. I am online heaps, im just on "away" because there are undesirable people on my list that hassle to talk to me, so if im away, i can just ignore them!
  11. Ive as of yet to receive it too, being the little eBay bitch i am, Melbourne->Melbourne is an overnight affair. Meh, iono
  12. hmm doi ok close this if you want
  13. Ok guys, well I am going to update this list, but just throw parts at me that you need that COULD be from other cars and Ill try my best to find out if they are Stagea specific or not. So far S1 Front rotors - Stagea Specific Front brake pads - Stagea/Y33 cima specific Rear wheel bearings - S14/Z32/R33/R34 will fit Front diff housing - R33 GTR part Handbrake pads - Basically standard across the whole Nissan range. R33/R34 will fit Oddly, the rear drive shaft assembly is from the V35 and Stageas only (checked only one side) Supposedly the front strut brace is stagea specific, but to me looks like R34 spec S2 Might interest you guys, the rear shock so FAST says on the MT cars is stag specific with the fork at the bottom By the way, this is using my S1 VIN. If you need S2 parts, ill need an S2 VIN to check. So, anybody need to know about anything?
  14. spotted a silver S1 stagea crossing whitehorse road on springvale road about 5 minutes ago. Cant wait for the day I line up against one
  15. cmon brad, i am sure you can do 1000km in a few days, its not THAT hard I do 400 in a week, just add a few cruises here and there, thats 1000km
  16. try actually pushing the plug in harder i found once i didnt put the plug back well and the 4wd/abs/etc wasnt working. Could be an easy fix? Otherwise, not sure what fuses there are for the coilpacks. Maybe some fool disconnected the coil packs? The connector is at the end of the rocker covers near the fire wall.
  17. They are packed and addressed, being sent wednesday
  18. and so it grows
  19. www.topstage.com
  20. i have penis envy for S2's black stock colour However, the more i think about it, the more i want to keep my car white.
  21. eBay car? Dont worry champ, everyone gets those comments when importing. I was told that i should be careful to not get a lemon...what did i get? A big white VIP lemon Ah well, you win some loose some, though unlike you, i should have just bought a stagea from the begining.
  22. 11 people in my Stagea contacts section now!
  23. Gary, didnt you trade someone suspension for sideskirts? The problem with the dayz kit is they are rare to come up on yahoo, and when they do they are for S2's! Currently though, id rather just spend $$ on other stuff...so i can wait but ill let you know.
  24. Oh, I was looking around to do this but seeing you have a mate to do it. I want a carpet for the rear boot, one that covers the entire area. I carry wheels and stuff around and ive made my interior parts rather dirty. Kinda like the big rubber/plastic one available from nissan, but carpet would just be easier. Please let me know.
  25. Id love it mate, not sure if my manuals will have it in there, but pinouts couldnt never ever hurt. Makes any wires you find anywhere a lot easier to ID
