I definitely know the first rule here, look first, ask second. I've seen many people get roasted 😂 I found a few diagrams for the RB, but I'm yet to come across one for the VQ. From what I have read, the pump gets the +12v along with the FPCM, and it's the negative wire that gets passed through the resistor to regulate the voltage. So I assume I can just ground the negative wire at the pump to eliminate the FPCM control. But I really wanted to see the VQ circuit diagram first to make sure I understood it correctly. Once the new pump is in I'll do some testing to see how it behaves, and in the meantime, I'll keep looking for a wiring diagram. Thanks for your help mate, your time is greatly appreciated.

I assume the modules are similar enough, so if you've had no issues I don't see why I would. I have tried to find a wiring diagram for the FPCM / fuel pump circuit, but I can't find it anywhere. Otherwise, I would just do some wire cutting and joining at the FPCM and give the 12 V supplied to the FPCM directly to the pump instead. If you know anyone that could help with wiring diagrams, I'd be very happy

The wires look to be a healthy gauge, more than I would think the pump needs. I guess another concern is if the FPCM will be happy with the extra current draw. I have heard they are a bit sensitive.

Hi guys, Sorry to revive such an old post! The fuel pump in my M35 has finally given up, the car has been sitting for 3 years so I'm not surprised. I bought a Walbro GSS342 of Scotty some time ago, so I'll throw that one in. My question is, if my car has no performance mods at all, do I need really to mod the wiring to supply constant 12V? or will the new pump be just fine at the reduced voltage at idle? Thanks guys..

What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?

Yes please! A VQ25DET build thread is just what we need! 😁 -
Hi Patrick, I'm using a Pivot 3 throttle and cruise controller in my 2003 M35 VQ25DET, and it works well. I didn't care for the throttle controller function so I can't comment on how well that works, I only bought it for the cruise control function which is great. https://pivotjp.com/product/3da/3da-e.html As for the fuel flap lock, there is a lock actuator behind the fuel flap lock mechanism that I believe prevents the flap from being opened while the car is locked, but mine if disconnected because it's broken so I can't be 100% sure. You have to give the edge a gentle push and it will pop open. Not really the answer you are looking for I guess.. hahaa!

Bonnet Struts, Some Help Required, Please
iain_ST44GA replied to WHOP's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I installed some bonnet struts on my Stagea a while back. From memory I had to reverse the left and right guard bracket as the did not allow enough travel for the strut to compress when the bonnet was shut. This did make the bonnet open height a bit lower than using the original manual stay, but it doesn't bother me for simple maintenance. The provisions for the brackets are all there and only require simple drilling of the guards (it's obvious where they are meant to go) and using the original bonnet bolts. I'll put a screen capture of my ebay history of what strut kit I bought below and some pics of which way around I put the brackets so the bonnet closes correctly. Hope this helps mate! -

[SYD] WTB M35 boot struts
iain_ST44GA replied to NicPM35's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I recently went down the path of trying to find aftermarket ones, buggered if I could find ones with the exact same measurements and pressure. I ended up getting mine re-gased, he charged me $70. They work great now! -
Here are a few images I took when I had my IPDM out, not sure if they are any help to you...
