  1. Is this a new service? I rang up a couple of weeks ago to get this done and they told me they don't tune the standard computers?
  2. Another yearly bump, i'll sell this one day....
  3. Sold, Thanks!
  4. www.pointofview.com.au in apollo bay is pretty cool, awesome views out over the bay. And chris's beacon point restraunt in skenes creek (10mins up the road) is very good. Was a fair effort getting the GTR in and out of both places though, dodgey dirt roads all over the place....
  5. Turbo is in good condition, minimal shaft play, removed from car to fit larger turbo, car was making 155kw with exhaust, pod and new coil packs. Have the elbow and oil drain tube if needed. Located in Mill Park, asking $100
  6. Yes to be more correct I have the solid shifter, I know this and I know all about the differences between the two. All I want is a picture of the standard one so I can compare it to the solid one....
  7. Do you have a picture of the standard one?
  8. Does anybody have a picture of a standard R32 Gtst shifter. Purchased a Nismo short shifter for mine and it look exactly the same as what came out, thinking the car already had one but just want to make sure before I resell it.
  9. Been looking into this lately and it all seems fairly straight forward, I'm just sorting out all my parts to do it at the moment, doing a few other things while I have the turbo out. I have a spare elbow if you need one, I bought it and then the turbo I bought came with one anyway $60 posted (what I paid for it) and it's yours.
  10. This was my daily car untill I bought the 32, it's been sitting in my front yard for a couple of months now so I really need to get rid of it, gets driven every few days just to keep it going. I have had the car for about 18months all up. There are a few little issues with the car that I haven't had the time to look into that I have noted below but overall it's a nice, clean, simple and very reliable little car. Generally I get about 10L/100km. Things i've replaced: - Brand new EFI computer about 12months ago (I had issues with cold starting which turned out to be computer related, all of the engine sensors were replaced as well at this time) - New clutch 10 months ago - New drive shaft boots - New radiator The Issues: - Odometer doesn't work, hasn't since i've had the car, think it's sitting on about 141000ish current engine has done about 200000..... - Fuel gauge is a bit dodge, doesn't always indicate, have to give the dash a bit of a thump Mechanically the car is in good condition and drives well, the engine seeps a bit of oil over time but doesn't drip. The car comes with no rego or roadworthy, I shouldn't take much to get it registered, the only thing I can see is the little boots on the lower A frames where the wheel hub bolts on are cracked.... Looking for around the $700 mark.....or swappsies for something for one of my skylines Will get some pics up soon
  11. Can someone please explain to me the meanings of the numbers on the ring gear in a diff?
  12. I did mine a couple of months ago, I just put sealant on the half moons at the back, as for tightness I did the screws up with a screw driver till they were tight, (you can only go so tight with a screw driver till ur hand slips ) then nipped them up again after a couple of hundred K's. So far no leaks

    Engine Crane

I got mine through ebay from a dude in cambellfield, it's exactly the same as the ones autobarn sell except it was half the price they charge.
  14. The drive snaps of the nut normally and they just have a flat head, the ones we use at work are called Hi-Locks, Put a big penny washer under the head of the fastner and nut as well, makes it harder to rip off the number plate....

    Hoon Squad?

I didn't get his number plates unfortunatley, I didn't even really think about it untill I drove off, at the time I was more thinking oh great i'm gonna get my car impounded. I called the local police station when I got home but they didn't seem very interested and said they couldn't do anything without a number plate anyway. Will be keeping an eye out for the car though as it happened just around the corner from my place in Mill Park. Dezz - lol, didn't realise what it was till I got out, presumed it was a teritory or something....

    Hoon Squad?

Firstly I'm not looking for peoples opinions as I don't want this thread closed. I just want see if anyone knows anything about this or has had it happen before. I got pulled over this evening on the way home from work, I pushed in a little bit merging to get across to a turning lane in traffic and the car behind me decided to sit right up close behind me up to and into the cnr, I accelerated out of the cnr harder than I normally would of (no breaking of traction etc.) to move away and looked behind me and saw red and blue flashing lights come on in the windscreen of the car behind so I pulled over. A guy in plain clothes came up to my window and asked me to turn my car off and get out. He promptly told me he wasn't from the police but the Hoon Squad? He rattled of the hoon laws and asked if it was my car and was it registered and did I know I could have my car impounded for what I just did. He didn't ask to see a license or my name or where I lived or any of that stuff but informed me my cars number plate would be put on record? There were a few other things as well, the car was a late 90's maroon Land Rover Discovery, there were just red and blue flashing lights in the dash, no strobes in the headlights, no lights at the back either, he didn't park away from the kerb like police normally do when they pull u over and he didn't show any form of badge or ID as off-duty or undercover police normally do. The more I think about it the more it seems like it was illegitimate.....
  17. I have been looking for some exhaust wrap and have come across ceramic exhaust wrap as opposed to the normal fibreglass stuff. Has anyone used this before, is it any good? It's supposed to not go as brittle over time as much as the fibreglass one does....
  18. The pfft why was in regards to your 'twin plates being mandatory for gtr's' comment. I don't understand why people put crazy clutches in cars that don't require them, it's cheaper to smash a clutch than it is a gearbox, the clutch should be able to hold maybe 10% more power than what the car is making otherwise it's just overkill, thats my opinion anyway. My car makes about 300kw and i'm using a stock clutch with no issues, car is used mostly for weekend outings and track......
  19. Pffft why? There's two types of people that use twin plates, those who need them because their making big power (400kw+) and those that don't like their gearbox's Well thats what I seem to see over and over again anyway
  20. When I bought my 32 it came with adjustable castor rods, i'm not sure which ones they are but the rods themselves are much thicker than most of the ones pictured, probably similar to the tune agent ones but different design, no worries with them whatsoever. There's a group buy going on at the moment for pivoting upper front camber arms think there $400 a pair, i've been looking around at the different options and this type seem to be the best option, I really want to get a pair for both my cars but don't have the cash at the moment
  21. hmmm think I might just go with rebuilding the rack, seems lie alot of messing around changing racks. Was talking to one of the guys at work today and he was saying his mate went down to a nissan dealer and they printed him off their exploded parts view of a couple of things he was rebuilding, makes life a bit easier considering there doesn't really seem to be english manuals around for any jap stuff.....
