Have put some more work into this, not much as it has being rather cold down my way. Extended the bottoms of each side down to the bottom of the car. Have started fiber glassing it up, since there is the dip in the middle it is making it a bit tricky. gotta do it in smaller pieces. Should hopefully have the whole rear panel fully fiber glassed up by the end of the week.

I have thought about doing it in that style, but i want it to look different to a gtr if that makes sense. Now the tricky part tho, figuring out how wide to make it, and then what rims choices i am left with. At the moment the rears are wide enough that they sit flush with a 18x10 +0, not sure if i want leave it that wide or bring it in 10mm. then i think it would roughly be as wide as a gtr.

Any particular reason you think it will be better ? or just that you think it will look better that way ? either way i am fully open to suggestions and ideas :)

Hey all, Decided id keep track of my current project on here for everyone to enjoy, judge, all the fun stuff. So since i first got my GTT, i have always wanted it to have a wider body like a GTR. after looking at some kits online, i decided id have a go at building one myself because i wanted something no one else has. So went online ordered myself 40kgs of clay and all the fiber glassing items i need. The current plan is to build front, rear bolt on fenders and side skirts, then build a duck-tail spoiler for it. Here is the current progress. So far all ive used for shaping it is, couple small metal scrapers, bit of card board and a 2mm sheet of mdf. Going to change the rears a bit to more match the shape of the front and bring the rears all the way down to the side skirts.

Yeah they are steel, when i had them off i checked them and they all looked good. cheers for the info -
Hey guys, So the other day i got new wheels put onto my car, this afternoon i went to change the height of my suspension as my wheels were scrubbing a little bit, noticed that my wheel nuts were rather tight, ended up using a torque wrench to undo, to find how tight they were. they finally let loose at 160lbs. would the bolts still be okay ? or should i be looking at getting new ones as 160lbs to do them up seems like a massive amount.

BC BR-RS (Rubber top mounts) with something lower then 8/6 would be a good street comfort i reckon. i am running 8/6 and it is to harsh for me around town. The roads where i live are pretty bad tho.

Hey everyone, So 2 of the rims that came on my car when i brought it have now cracked in the same spot, so figured i may as well buy all new wheels. i've spent a couple hours last night searching the wheels and offset thread, found alot of good information but couldn't find enough to get a proper answer. I am looking at getting some Rota P1R wheels. having some trouble making sure i've got the right offsets tho. The choices are the following 18x9.5 +27 18x9.5 +35 18x9.5 +38 Have compared my current to the the following on WillTheyFit.com, but still not sure which would be the best choice, i think the +27 on the front would stick out to much but not sure if the +35 would be to close on the inner. But i think the +27 would fit the rear pretty nice, Going to jack the car up this afternoon and try and check clearance. Just wondering if anyone knows off the top of their heads the best offsets to get? Cheers in advance.

Lower diff ratio for R34 GTT
ruinned replied to ruinned's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ahk, learn something new everyday :). Yeah i just had a look online at a calculator tool for working out engine rpm and speed. and the s15 diff ratio is basically exactly what i want for it. lowers the the rpm just enough. Cheers for the information time to get a s15 diff and swap the bits around. speedo calibration, i might have a way around it as i am building my own digital dash so i will be able to alter results from the ecu to correct them my self. -
Hey everyone, I am wanting to look at getting a different diff ratio for my R34 GTT, the reason behind this is, that it is starting to annoy me that if i go out of town i need to take a different car because the skyline sits really high on rpm around 100-120km/h and just chugs way to much fuel. Started looking around and researching, correct me if i am wrong but the diff i have is 4.11 ? Just wondering if there another diff that i can put in the car with a lower ratio. i have read that s15 diff will bolt right in, but i think they have a ratio like 3.6 which i think would be to low. what wold my options be ? Cheers in advance

Suspension mods for an R34 GTT Hey Guys, What suspension mods would you recommend doing on an R34 GTT to improve the handling, currently the only suspension mods i have are some BC coilovers. The car is my daily, it doesnt see any track use, just some spirited driving outside town around the windy roads where i live.
