  1. that's alright 15ms of any wrap is pretty cheap now days how did u do the roof, since there is no weather strip there ?? yours looks awesome as well
  2. I will check the oil level and go from there, and also ask him what oil he put in it. i don't think it suddenly developed it, i think maybe the different oil made it feel bad and clunky, if that is possible ?? no the clutch disengages at top
  3. How many meters of wrap did it take to do the car ??
  4. Time to get some ordered
  5. Yeah i can feel the synchros, not making any bad noises tho, if i roll along in 3rd it seems like it is going to pop out of gear. so avoid thicker oil then, shall do. redline lightweight shockproof ?? also cheers for the advice
  6. Yeah i think the thicker oil is going to make the box feel a little bit better for the mean time until i can get around to getting it rebuilt, a rebuild is gonna cost me at least 2k or more maybe. so in the mean time i was thinking thicker oil to make it feel a bit better and maybe damage it less ?? cause i can feel like the cogs hitting each other and i dont think that can be good for it. GTT, i will give him a phone call and ask him, before the clutch being replaced the gearbox didn't feel as bad as it does now. so im guessing the new oil is a bit thinner then the old oil. I live in orange so winter is rather cold here, and if the box is a pain while cold in summer then i am guessing its going to be worse in winter here.
  7. Thickest Oil for gearbox ?? Hey Guys and Girls, so a little bit ago, i had the clutch replaced in my R34, since i got it back from the mechanic the gearbox has felt more clunky (changing to second when its cold sometimes is really hard, just feels like i can feel the gears clunking together). not sure as to what rating oil he has put in gearbox, so i want to change it to something i know is thicker. what is the thickest oil ? or what oil would you recommend i put in it.
  8. Scotts R34 GTT Hey Guys and Girls, Being on this forum for a while now, so thought it was about time i made a post about my car . So long story short, i have always wanted a R34 for as long back as i could remember, absolutely just love the shape and the look of them. so when it came close to me getting my full license, i started looking around for one to get. after searching for a while i finally settled on, took a drive to Sydney and picked up my Dream Car. Here is what i got 1998 R34 GTT the car had a bit of wear and tear, but was expect but other then that is was fairly stock. The only mods on the cars were - * sound system setup (headunit, 2 subs in the boot, amp all in a custom made box / setup) * Coilovers (dont know the brand but they have some stupidly high spring rate) * Cat-back exhaust (hks super drager system) *xxr Rims The Day i Picked it up The First mod, was a GFB EBC this was the first ever real mod id done to a car besides a sound system, got it installed and started learning how to use it, where i lived at the time, behind me was a highway so when i finished installing it around 10pm i took it for a drive and started going back and forth on the highway fine tuning it to where i wanted it. stock the car runs 5-7 psi it is now running 10-11psi using the controller. The next mod to the car was putting in my head-unit from a previous car, nothing to special about this lol done it a million times, gave the wires a bit of a clean up while i was there. after that i did a 2500km round trip from orange to mt gambier and back. the car ran perfect the whole way didnt have any troubles at all, fuel economy wasn't the best but oh well the only bad part was the suspension was horrible on country roads in the wet, kept feeling like i was going to slide off the road at any time. after that the aftermarket alarm / immobilizer in the car started to play up a bit, the controller was a bit worn so deiced, whats the worst i could do and tried pulling it out myself. and it worked perfectly. after that i didnt do anything with the car for a while, then one morning got in it pressed the clutch in, heard a werid noise and goodbye Clutch -.- , was able to get it to my mechanics and got a new exeedy heavy duty clutch put into the car. after that for Christmas i got a 3" dump pipe from the family so i brought myself a hi-flow cat to go with it, now the exhaust system is finished off full 3" turbo back, going to change the exhaust tip tho the HKS super drager is way to big, its like the size of a small gas bottle, and isnt loud enough for me. over christmas and new years had some time off work so i decided i would start getting the sound system sorted out in the car, had apline type g speakers and a amp for them to install, i got rid of the previous setup as i wanted to make my own so the car was more mine. don't have any pictures of the previous set up, but here is my setup so far, still need to make a floor for the boot and 2 sub boxes to go into the corners while still trying to keep as much room in the boot as possible. so that is the car so far
  9. I use to Live in Roxby Downs, red dirt everywhere all over the place haha
  10. NIIIICE!!! i was going to wrap my skyline this colour when i first brought it, after seeing the pictures i think it is def happening now
  11. Got under the car to have a look at the gearbox to see how much the slave cylinder is moving the when the clutch is pressed in. here is a video off it. Thinking the problem might be inside the box, as the slave cylinder seems to be moving enough. but when taking the slave cylinder off, was able to move the end of the fork back towards the rear of the car about a couple of cm's. so where it is sitting at the start of the video the rod from the slave cylinder could still be pressed back into the slave cylinder more. should the slave cylinder be compressed back into it self more or ??
  12. makes sense, i'll get under the car tomorrow and have a look. how much travel should there be with the slave rod ??
  13. If the clutch pivot bolt failed would i lose the clutch 100% ?? because i can still just change gears.
  14. How am i able to check that ?? if i get under the car would it be an easy thing to spot ?? expansive to replace ??
  15. Clutch bite point suddenly changed. Hey Guys and Girls. So i drove my car home from work and was working perfectly fine. got in the car a couple hours later to go for a drive, and all of a sudden the clutch bite had gone to the very bottom of the pedal. with the clutch fully pressed it if i left my foot out what feels about 1-2 cm the clutch is biting. i checked were the pedal is on the push rod and it is as far back as possible. The master cylinder looks full. any ideas on what it could be ?? is my clutch screwed ?? or the something wrong with the master cylinder ? since I've owned the car if you sit in neutral with the clutch pedal out there is a slight spinning noise from the gearbox but goes away when the pedal is pressed in, not sure if that has something to do with it. Cheers in advance
  16. More then happy to hear any opinion The car is Stock besides the following * turbo back 3" exhuast * GFB EBC There isnt a nistune in the car already it is running the stock ecu with a stock tune. i know i wont get crazy results from the tune keeping the stock equipment, but it will still be an increase even if it is a small one. i wont be getting a new turbo for a couple years, so i dont mind paying for 2 tunes. Cheers for the information it does give me a good idea for getting more power in the future.
  17. The Exhaust is 3" turbo back with hi flow cat, will be using a nistune for it. need to keep the consult cable for a little project im working on. yeah i'm not excepting earth shattering omg its so much faster performance. i know the stock turbo will only get me so far. New fuel pump is pretty easy, would i need to do the re-wire on it to make it run at higher voltage ? and if that is the case with FMIC il get one before i get it tuned.
  18. Getting a tune, Need advice on parts Hey Guys and Girls, I will be getting a tune on my R34 GTT in the not so distant future. just looking to get some advice on some parts and if they need changing. The car will be running the stock turbo so i know I'm limited to 12psi and around the 200kw mark. what i am trying to figure out is at that power level will i need the follow. FMIC ?? or will the standard side mount be enough to handle it ?? Injectors.. will the standard ones (330cc or 370cc cant seem to find a 100% answer on what size they are.) be enough for the tune ?? Fuel Pump .. standard one good enough or need a upgraded one ? One day it will get getting a bigger turbo, for which i know i need to upgrade the above parts but that wont be happening for a couple years. so i don't want to buy upgrades yet if i can get away with using the standard ones. Cheers in advanced
  19. I'm pretty sure i saw your car on Thursday the 13th when i was making my way up to the gold coast. looked Awesome
  20. should be able to pick up a second hand one up cheap. what sort of power would i be looking at getting to ?? something around 210kw ?
  21. Wasnt on my Mod list, sadly came with the car when i brought it. on the to do list to get a new one lol
  22. Is it going to be worth while getting a tune. Hey Guys and Girls, So i am just wondering if it would be wroth while getting a tune for my car, my car is a 1998 r34 GTT which will have the following mods blitz return flow front mount. full 3" turbo back exhuast / hi flow cat GFB ebc upgraded actuator on the stock turbo so it will be running 10psi hks mushroom pod filter going to be going with a nistune ecu. Would i make any decent gains tuning the engine with the current mods ? Cheers
  23. My advice... never skip leg day, as horrible as it is at times it helps your upper body recover and no one wants small legs. and NEVER lift with your ego
