Well, sub frames are going in, everything is looking mint. 4wd pump was cleaned, every bracket/bolt/nut was either replaced or coated. And have gone with the FPG braided high pressure 4wd line

R35 brakes for sure, that’s what I went for, for functional and looks, got my set with new oem rotors and dixel pads. 380mm rear and 390mm fronts, just me mindful it will limit your wheel options

Machine work and short motor was done by APM

Subframe going back together and chasing all the little things I’ve missed

Finally, some movement subframe is going back together, ordered some Nismo bushes to use instead of the GK tech ones as well as new 4wd oil lines Car is at the painters, doing more work on the under carriage, hopefully will be back on its wheels in the next couple of weeks

Finally got my short motor back today, hoping things will progress now. bottom end is complete with calico coated bearings, new custom pistons and rings, Nitto crank, Nitto sine drive oil pump, Argo I beam rods. this is what 10.25-1 comp pistons look like in an Rb26

Not so bad, the new ones are a lot quieter then the older ones, (guess could always do a res delete) lol I can’t believe how fast it is for a little 4 banger, and interior is a very nice place to be.

I’m contemplating a similar conversion, in my build of the GTR I have been left with an enormous array of spare parts, was initially just going to sell everything once the car is finished but am now considering getting my hands on an R32 GTS-4 and having a go putting it together with my son, I’ve seen a couple of what looks to be decent rollers sell for the 15k mark. My spares include, just off the top of my head, complete set of rebuilt R33 GTR brembo brakes, BM50 master cylinder, Nismo braided lines, complete set of bilstin coil overs, white line sway bars, R34gtr wheels, motec M130 ecu, RB26 factory engine loom, complete fuel system with twin 460 pumps, surge tank etc. 6 boost manifold, 2 x complete cold sides, (1 x single throttle, 1 x ITB factory setup). Complete rear subframe, with diff, shafts etc. 2 x GTR 5 speed boxes, 2 x transfer cases, 2 x tailshafts, 3 x front prop shafts, OS twin plate clutch, front hubs, all the factory arms, gearbox crossmember. About 90% of the interior, spare GTR front seats, dash, 2 x clusters, nice Defi gauges, oil cooler, spare GTR bonnet and grill, headlights, blinkers, tail lights. Motor wise, I got a set of forged pistons, Nitto oil pump and complete RB26 sump with factory diff. And there’s a heap more crap (no doubt) that I can’t remember buying. but enough to put together a nice street car.. in my head anyway. Or just save myself the Headache and sell everything! (including the GTR) Lol

Haha, I was going to call you yesterday afternoon, I went past APM to see how they were travelling with my motor, they told me they just finished the billet one and mine was next. I though you’d be happy. My pistons have arrived.

Well you are correct, my mistake for listening to a salesman, did some research, looks like they are using the 9G-Tronic gearbox from Mercedes. That’s a little disappointing, but looks like it’s a good box, from what I could find there is a versions that uses clutch packs and a version that has a torque converter. Couldn’t find any information on what one the 400 is using. The dealership will have a demonstrator in a month or so, so will be going back to see it in the flesh and take one for a drive before final commitment. @Dose Pipe Sutututu please don’t put those ideas in my head! Lol I already have enough hair falling out, another RB build and I’ll be completely bald! 😂😂

Just put a deposit down on a new 400Z. Won’t be here till later this year. Technically it will be the wife’s car, but think I’m going to enjoy it more! Plus, I get another car to modify 😁 Ordered one in gun metallic grey, with the 9speed duel clutch box

Update: intercooler and radiator sold Have a set of 6 x 1650 Bosch motorsport injectors, just had them cleaned/serviced $500 also selling the Nitto oil pump, removed only as I was convinced to go sine drive. $900 Motec M130 with plug and play wiring harness for GTR. ECU is enabled with Powertunes software package specific to GTR. Retails for well over 5k. $4000 happy to post, shoot me a pm for postage cost. cheers
