  1. W427. It had a nice meaty resonating note to it, but I'm still trying to fathom how anyone could part with $150k of their hard-earned on a Commodore. That's AMG C63 territory. Heck, I probably live on Weeties for 6 months and put the extra $ into a GTR.
  2. * POST REMOVED * Wrong thread.
  3. I haven't really followed this story much, besides the basics. Having seen those pics, can you really blame the guy?? *ducks for cover*
  4. Glad you asked. I'll tell you what's next... A bloke at work has a son who is a cop. He's been trialling a new camera (probably same as the Sheriff's cam) that they set up on the roadside. It takes a shot of your rego plate, links back to Vicroads database and alerts the fuzz if the car is unregistered, etc. They are conveniently positioned a few hundred metres down the street, walk out and pull you over. BAM. You're nicked! Having said that, it's got me thinking. I asked the Sheriff the other day if his cameras are new. he said "Yeah to us they are, but the police have had them for a while". Which brings me back to a post I made in Sept 2008. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sp...-M-t235764.html I wonder if this camera is not a speed camera, but a rego recognition device and the boys are waiting down the track. How about we all keep an old towel in our boot? Never know when you might like to air it out a bit.
  5. I was at Chaddy about an hour ago and noticed a few guys walking around the carpark in what appeared to be police unifroms and fluro yellow vests. On closer inspection, they were Sheriffs. Then I saw a white Camry with UHF antennae on the boot followed by 2 identical cars. The lead car had a camera mounted above the rear door. Had a chat to one of them and it turns out they drive through the carparks slowly and the camera reads number plates, flagging anyone with outstanding fines. They found one next to my car and clamped it. They put massive stickers on the cars windows. On the other side of the carpark was what looked like a booze bus. They must have been 20 of these white Camrys parked around it. I guess it's not suprising considering the millions of dollars of outstanding fines. Shopping centres hold a high density of cars and the owners aren't around whilst the clamps are atttached. Not a bad idea, coz suddenly the tables are turned and now the wanted have to chase up the Sheriffs.
  6. I was caught in that traffic jam. Took me 2 hours to move 2.5 kms. A truckie behind me got out and took a squirt next to his diesel tanks. Then a lady in front stopped in the emergency lane, opened both driver side doors and had a squat.
  7. I test drove a new one of these (HARD) a couple of years ago. Had just stepped out of a Renault Sport CUp Clio which blew me away on it's handling. Although the Honda revved to 8,400 rpm and gave me a head ache after 20mins of driving (noise from behind firewall, not exhaust), the handling was deplorable and the interior was basic for the $ asked. I've never been in an Evo 6, but the Honda handled like my old Corolla. The end.

    Top Gear

Skylines aside, did anyone see TG UK earlier this week? How fkn fast was the black Ferrari The Stig drove??? 7 secs quicker than the fastest track time (Gumpert)!!!!!!!! And the Stig removed his helmet. Who better for the job, even if I don't believe he was The Stig.
  9. I like the idea Paul.
  10. Ash, It's 2.4ghz phones in general. Mine's a Panasonic 2.4gig and I had the same issue. Whenever I used to phone, or someone called, it killed my wifi connection. That was with the base stn and wifi router almost next to each other. Seperate them by around 1metre and the issue goes away. Worked for me. Same can go with microwaves. 2.4ghz is the start of the microwave frequency and that spectrum is a dogs brekkie.
  11. No idea, but I've seen the same footage on YouTube entitled "Hitler Wants ADSL 2 In Hobart". Very funny!
  12. If it's ADSL2 you're after, one option would be to go for TPG NAKED ADSL (if avail on your exchange). That way you don't have to pay line rental. 50GB per month. A good VOIP modem router is OPEN RLW824. It's a re-badged Billion 7404VGP. Identical infact, right down to it's GUI. Billion is around $240 and OPEN is $99 plus post from SYD. I'm 4kms along copper from exchange and my Pennytel VOIP works perfectly. QOS can prioritise traffic such as Voip so that you don't get echo.
  13. LMAO. Ur kidding, right? fast...sometimes. Just works...sometimes. Lousy service, hideously expensive, uncompetitive and n00besque response to issues. Oh and huge wait times on the phone. Buyer beware.
  14. Seriously, these guys have NFC! The F100 is an ugly, shit car, made worse but the ridiculous flaps and stickers. Imagine the $ he wasted on all those stickers?! I once saw a father and son redneck combo driving their utes. The old man's was a smick new XR8 ute, ruined by the huge mudflaps, foot rails with lights, stickers and get this... A real full-sized set of braham horns stuck to the roof. FFS. They annoy me waay more than Excel's with monster tachos and other FWD cars with rear downforce wings.

    Kebabs

+1 one for that call! They use the proper lebbo bread. I go for the same order as MJM. Very filling. If you go tight-ass Mondays, they're only $5. Shop is on Burwood Rd between Swinburne and VW dealership.
  16. WTF?? NEver heard of that Black. Where was that spyed?? The price is biblical! I shall await Clarkson's review on next season Top Gear which I believe returns to UK screens on June 21. On the TG note, I can't believe TG OIz had a 2nd series commissioned. Anyway, back on topic now. I spotted a charcoal grey 35GTR out front of Moorabbin AMF bowling last Sat arvo on Nepean Hwy. Nice!
  17. A good wheel. I have the same one. Apart from it running on my PC, I can vouch for it working on a mates PS3 running Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.
  18. Yep, all about respect for the owner. My best mate went overseas recently for a month and asked me to look after his hot hatch for him so long as I drove it at least once a week. Anyone ever driven a Renault Clio Sport? Looks like a hairdresser's car, but pulls harder than a 14yr old boy. Great chassis too! I had a huge driveway, so I did but looked after the car. Gave it a squirt here and there, comforted in the knowledge that even if I did, the car prob thought it was on vacation compared to how he drove it. To be honest, I'd never leave my car with him unsupervised, coz he drives his own cars like he stole them. haha
  19. Is that The Stig driving that white shitbox?????

    Earthquake!

Felt about the same power to me. But this one only lasted3-4 seconds, whereas last time it was more like 10 seconds. Maybe therein lies the reason yuo say that.

    Earthquake!

Felt my office shake in Caulfield area. Was a 4.6 on the R scale. Epicentre was approx 5kms from the last one (in the Korrumburra vicinity). Apparently somewhere in Gippsland lost power as a result. The transformers on the power poles have a mercury relay, so alarms will be going of at power co's left, right & center. bwahaha
  22. If it looks anything like it's younger brother, it would be a nice ride.
  23. Was 4.7 at korumburra (epicentre) that link posted earlier( http://www.seis.com.au/EQ/Earthquakes.html ) is fianlly working again. Looks like it was hammered by requests in the past 90mins. City was more like 2. something.
