  1. hmmm... sounds weird. What exactly happens at above 80KM. What are the symptom your talking about? What does it dowhen it does it?
  2. My thoughts, 2 wastegates would be better than one for low boost on big turbos, blah blah. reason being that you can dump more exhaust from the engine and control low boost better. When you have hig boost, you don't need to dump much air because your using it to energise the compressor. Edit: P.S. - who want's low boost on a big turbo car? And Nate31, I just tried to squash a bug on my screen which turned out to be your sig...
  3. Yer, I know. I bought a relay and some female spade connectors just incase. Didn't need them though. Enough fuel was being supplied to do the job I'm afer for now. If I go bigger turbo etc, I would relay it to get full use out of the pump. Incidently, the tuner said that he did an R33 with a walbro and got to 345hp before running out of fuel. He also said that some s13's are only getting 10v at the fuel pump, and that can be a problem. But for now, I'm getting more power, and more importantly, no ping. Pretty happy with that.
  4. I got my car retuned today after fitting a new fuel pump. Outcome, I'm getting more power with richer fuel ratios and less timing!!! To explain more, The green line is the end result of the last tune with the DFA before I got the fuel pump replaced. We had to add fuel in up the top as the fuel pressure was not enough. The blue line is when the fuel pump was put in. The red line is the tne result from the DFA and fuel pump, we had to retard the timing as it was advancing up top due to pulling out fuel, and starting to ping. We had to add fuel in down the bottom to get it to 12:1, so I lost a bit there but you can really feel it pull hard at 4500. Please note that the dyno is 10% pesimistic, and not done in shootout mode. Approx 183rwkw
  5. Hey Man, It's all good - that's what these forums are for. I had my car tuned today after fitting a walbo, and the graph showed that the afr's went from 12.5 to 11 before tuning. So it's definatly better than my stocko. I'll post the graph when I get home. I have heard people on the forum getting afr's of 10 after fitting a borsh though. What pressure reading did you get? I was getting 40psi at 11lbs boost on the stock pump.

  7. yerp, looks like your parping cuplate gave out. Seriously though, looks like the piston jambed. Cant explain the other end though - unless it was a seesaw action... Got me buggered.
  8. Just pull on you windscreen washer. At 80 km or over, it ricochets off yours and lands on their screen. They get the message.

  11. Sounds like spark plugs. When there buggered, they don;t work properlly when hot. Has it been a while since you changed them? Good place to start anyway...
  12. why is there an actuator on that first shot? Is it Journal or ball bearing? Oil or water cooled? I'll try and help you out with what you need. manifold with wastegate connector. Pipe to connect intercooler plumbing to the turbo. Wastegate. Split dump pipe, probably custommade. Oil lines, water lines if water cooled, gastkets and some kind of elctronic management. Then there might be the other supporting mods you need like fuel pump, bigger injectors and maybe a fuel pressure regulator. The turbo looks like one of those that you can add an integral gate to. maybe this is a cheaper option ^^^what cameron datto said, you can get an internal gate hks turbo that bolts on and will be of better quality.
  13. Yahe, I had 12.5 ratios on the stock ecu after same mods. It was the fuel pump. PSI was dropping to about 40, instead of 51. Tuner said just under 12.5 is about right, but change the fuel pump and get it retuned as the fuel pump will get worse. Safc won't give you any more power, but will help the fuel trim issues that you get with r33 at cruising speeds. I dont know if r34's have this problem, but I ganied about 130 KM a tank at cruising speeds after tuning.
  14. Lumley general insurance will do it, but they want 3 point imobilizers and other over the top stuff. I have heard no bad or good news about them however. I was going to use them 'cos cheap, but ended up with 'just car' as my imobilzer is merely 2 point. Pish posh.

  16. Ah.. There are so many problems tha cause this. Cracked coil packs - rich rich mixture, worn spark plug or incorect gap. I was getting them at high revs from a fuel pump that was on the way out and the ECU was was going rich and retard from to much knock on the sensor.. I guess it was just retard, as there wasn't enough fuel getting to the engine!! Check all of these starting from the easiest first I guess. Thanks
  17. Howdy ppls, I would just like to give thanks as this guide was really handy. I just installed a walbro fuel pump. It took about 1 hr. I wouldn't have done it unless someone had posted this so thanks again. I bought it off BT-Revolution and it came complete with all the fittings and even a rubber base to fit the cradle that it sits in. The price was cheap and I chose it as the tuner advised it for pretty good quality and it is easy to fit as it's the same size as the std nissan. I had a look and it seems to be good, made in USA, and it was a real one. It's funny how alot of people on this forum don't like them. There are a few chinese copies of this pump out there and I think people may have been stung from buying one and found the performance to be no where near what it's supposed to be. Anyway - just a theory. Anyway - I've attached a picture of the pump installed into the cradle for anyone who want's to have a go at it. All the instructions above are well documented and spot on.   18. Mine has a boost guage. It only goes up to 7. Which is a problem if you want to hit 8,9,10,11,12,etc PSI.
  19. really cheap? Chinese ebay turbo dump + 3" exhaust + bashed cat. chinese copy ebay intercooler simarks boost controller Jarcay DFA. Please note that the dump pipe might split and the intercooler might not flow and cool enough. You get what you pay for. Just save up. However, simarks boost controller works well, and so does the DFA, if you put it together right.
  20. Hey, I might need a air con pressure switch. It has wires and goes into the top of the air con condensor at the front right. Do you have this? How much? Can you PM me? Thanks Chris
