Awesome day folks. As for sunburnt - doesn't even begin to describe my forehead. Maybe Sunroasted, sun-char-grilled. Its way beyond burnt. Was great seeing some nice cars driven in anger :-) As for the Camaro's. God Damn! But safe to say Coilovers 1 - Leaf Springs 0

Accepting Corporate Cheques When Selling A Car
NISMO replied to paulR32gtr's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Just to be safe, drive down to your bank together and ask him to deposit it in your account. If need be pay that little extra for instant approval. I fkn trust no one and even do that with bank cheques. esp when selling cars :-) -
Nissan Skyline R32 Gtr 1993 N1 Race Version
NISMO replied to chesp009's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
In the interest of not wanting anyone to be scammed, please provide the Chassis number, as all N1's had a unique Chassis #. Sorry to say, but off the visuals, the car def doesn't look like an N1 1 - you have ABS 2 - rear wiper 3 - headlights 4 - dash has rear wiper switch 5 - stereo controls on dash It def might have an N1 engine, turbo's etc, but going off the pics alone, it doesn't look like an N1 GTR. Either way, nice car. -
The only thing to be mindful of is that you WILL be chosen for a "random" ID check. This is done at one of a couple of RTA checking stations and usually is booked after you attempt to register the car, meaning you have to wait a few weeks. The last car i brought in for QLD was a V35 so they look ok, and i had no probs with NISMO suspension and a quiet exhaust. The other issue i had was that they wanted all the paperwork, including full compliance documentation. (Not sure if the person i was dealing with was just having a bad day, but i had it all so it was ok) If your car has been through a few owners this may be hard to get so speak to the QLD rego guys and see if you can get copies just in case. Maybe give the RTA a call and ask what they'll need and ask to speak to a manager to confirm and get his/her details. I've been farked around too many times with different info so do this anytime i need something done by the RTA.

dude, try G35Driver, there's a whole section on maintenance. Only not sure if they have the same material, as i don't believe they got the suede/leather combo Japan did. If not, there's also autopia.org The best detailing site there is. If you know what the actual material is, I'll bet the house someone there knows how to clean it :-) Finally, you can get some APC (All Purpose Cleaner) from places like Bunnings, and supermarkets, supercheap etc etc. Most APC's have instructions on how much to mix to clean different surfaces. The one i use does everything from my leather lounge to grease in the engine bay. With anything though, i would ALWAYS recommend you test on a hidden/hard to see area before going nuts This is for both finer fabrics as well as the cars exterior. Hope that helps.

Ideal world yes - so do we start somewhere, or just keep going flat through every intersection hoping every second f*ckwit is lucky enough not to wipe out and kill someone If there was a sharp bend at the end of that road, would you expect the truckie to anticipate this and slow down knowing he has to make the bend or should the truckie continue doing 70 right into the bend then turn the wheel and hope he gets through? see above. A truckie more than any other driver should realise what they're driving and drive accordingly. If you can't stop in time then don't "hammer". Again, yes i know this would be ideal, and my not be real life, but what do we do instead? Also you, me (and truckies) would probably pass no more than a couple of these on most days, is it really that much to ask to approach that intersection with a bit more caution?
-
Yeah, trucks might be a diff story with needing more braking distance, don't know. But my point was that if your doing say 70 in a 70 zone, comming up to the lights and it turns amber on you just as your approaching, there's no need to gun it to 100 to get through there's enough time in the amber. In my mind I generally anticipate that the light could turn amber at ANY time, so you approach each intersection knowing you may have to stop.
-
Hell Yeah! If people drove properly - ie speed limit and not tailgating there's really no problem. The amber light gives you enough time to clear the intersection once it turns if your doing the speed limit. If you see it turn amber and your 50m away then gun it to save a few seconds, then the more fines you get the sooner they get you off the road.

Only about a month or so ago. Just ring up places that bring half cuts in. Thats what i did, and yep a bit of luck :-)
-
Yep will need access to the lines dude. My cooler is flat under the car, which is not good for hitting ripple strips, but awesome for oil changes. So, simply unscrew the lines and it all comes out. I do it every third change or so. But in your case, you would have to take off the front bar. The other option might be to unscrew the lines where they mount to the block on the sandwhich plate. That should pretty much be your lowest point so gravity will do the work. Not sure in a 33, but in the 32GTR its an absolute b!tch to get your hand in there.
-
Yeah would love a 370 Sedan, but agree way to pricey still. Well not pricey for the car but pricey considering how much the sedans drop in price within a couple of years. That and there's also no compliance for them yet.
-
This is why i want one :-)

Hey guys, Been without a "V" for over a year and half now and thinking its about time to get back into one. This time though, I'm looking at the V36 Sedan's. Are there any owners on here? Anything specific to look out for or probs which may have crept up? I'm currently looking at a 350GT type SP. All opinions/advice welcome. Cheers

Try wreckers. I was looking for the plastic surround cause mine had a whole cut above the clock for a boost controller. I lucked out and got a surround and a working clock for $40!!

Not sure if its been posted, and if it has oh well. But now its the World Time Attack Challenge http://www.caradvice.com.au/53819/world-ti...-eastern-creek/ some nice cars from Japan and the US, including the Cyber EVO

You do realise, that thats pretty much word for word what the R32 was is in its day. :-) "too many sensors, solenoids, gizmos and gadgets and less human input and manhandling required"

Will A Baby Seat Fit In Gtr Models?
NISMO replied to Deziner's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I've regularly had 2 in the 32 GTR. Both forward facing type. The joys of haveing kids 18mnths apart :-) -
I was at a track day recently with two mates in brand new WRX's, 1 sedan, 1 hatch. The sedan had semi's, a tune (gained approx 50kw) and suspension. The hatch had road tyres, but big brakes (6 piston fronts), suspension and a tune. I'm a pretty novice driver and it was my first time in the GTR on OP south. at the end of the day, they were both a second or so off my pace, and the instructors where only a second and a half or so quicker in their cars. Yes my 32 is an N1, but it has stock suspension, stock brakes, road tyres, and i ran with the boost controller turned off. Was 35 degrees so didn't want to up the boost and stress the car. Edit - the pro drivers where about 2 seconds quicker than me in the rexxies

Every couple of years i go all out and then maintain from there. All out - Wash car - Clay - Wash - Remove swirls - Buffer - Wash - Clean paint and polish ( i use Zaino Z-AIO ) - Seal polish - ( use Z-CS ) - And then a layer or two of another sealer called Zaino Z-8 Takes pretty much a weekend - cause I'm too lazy to do it in a day, but well worth it. When finished the paintwork is very slippery and nothing sticks to it. Washing the car takes about 5 mins from here, and everything just falls off. Bugs, tar from track days - everything! To maintain it, twice a year I clay and re polish and seal. Don't have any pics of the GTR with me, but here's how the V35 looked. And this is 3 months after the all out i did.
