  1. ^ that will be mated to a chassis that can actually cope with the power
  2. no need the black Hi-Octane R32, that has been modified in pretty much every way imaginable and extensively lightened, ran 59 seconds at Tsukuba. a standard R35 on run-flat tires ran a 1min 3sec. as good as the old RB powered GT-R's are remembered as, the world has well and truly moved on
  3. lol shabadoo if ur talking about the R35, that red is a factory colour option. if ur talking about the aqua FD RX-7; it's not a factory colour...and i have n.f.i
  4. I prefer engineering competence to a wayward, poorly-balanced chassis that people want to try and redeem by saying it has "character " This quote from the current issue of Wheels mag sums it up well: Why complain that it lacks 'soul' or some shit if you've not even driven it? I'm sure most every SAU member would consider selling body-parts to be able to thrash one for a day.
  5. the only reason to prefer a human-controlled manual 'box (and going slower) now, is machismo like the guys back in the day that probably lamented the advent of synchro rings in gearboxes 'coz it "reduced driver involvement!"
  6. well, yeah- it has because both represent the pinnacle of Japans front engined, turbo-charged high-performance cars the fact that the specs (apart from AWD) and prices where so similar meant they were natural competitors the LF-A (or what ever it ends up being called) will no doubt look better, but the R35 will just get on with being the better supercar
  7. It's sounding more and more like Polyphony has only managed to churn out some great graphics to suit the PS3 processing power, but no one has thought to upgrade the physics-engine to improve drive dynamics anywhere along the line
  8. as long as mine has no problems with the crutch, or the blembo blake carripers, and offers the usual 'powerful resistance in driving'- then i'll be happy
  9. Saw this LP640 outside Stevo's new office down south looked damn tough- the rego was "F18" Audi R8 looking hella tasty in silver, in Warriewood Exige in the usual retina-searing shade of orange coming into North Sydney aaand- a Toyota F1 car one suburb away from my place in Glebe
  10. was it wet? the back end of a GT-R will slide very easily in the wet due to the mechanical limo

    R35 Jokes

  12. This is true. You can't possibly drive a modern supercar hard enough on public roads, without being arrested/shot, to even come close to troubling the standard 380mm+ steel brake rotors (yes, i'm looking at all you people with Ferraris, Lambos and Porsches who tick the carbon/ceramic option for an extra $20~30k, just to trundle around the city at or below the speed limit) BUT, big-ups to Nissan for making sure there is an R35 model for that addresses the main concerns for track-heads (the kerb weight and the brake fade resistance of the standard car), and allows the V-spec to compete head to head with cars costing over 3 times as much. A big part of the reason why the 'Ring lap time is so good- Imagine how many seconds all the lost tenths of a normal gearchange would add up to over the course of 21 kilometres.
  13. try $157K
  14. change "youre" to "your" in thread title pls
  15. how is comparing the new GT-R to the old RB26 powered ones useless? no, it's not the one Nissan was displaying- it's the black one from fabcar in WA that had a thread started about it a while back
  16. you'll see more late model Ferraris than you will R35 GT-Rs
  17. the person who built it was obviously interested purely in 'go', and not 'show' at all! very tough. just get some nice 17's, or maybe 18's, for it
  18. would you also consider turning your caps-lock off?
  19. aww- the poor grannies driving around in N14 Ti Pulsars don't know any better
  20. maybe someone will come along that has just as much driving skill, but is even better at taking competitors out/wasting quali time and making it look 'accidental'
  21. he knew the FIA had his (Ferraris) back
  22. carbon|ceramic composite rotors- just awesome that'd be a first for a Jap manufacturer then
  23. and even worse, are the automatic ones fitted with an aftermarket 'zorst
  24. well have a look at the footage again http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcRUM2w2CVY when you look at the 'speed' involved, and how he's steering the car; there really couldn't be any doubt that he meant to do it
  25. 550 (or more) extremely tractable hp, combined with 1590kg and ceramic brakes. Now we're talkin' The R35 is already a better car than a 997 Turbo fitted with PCCB brakes. Here's the version for people that want to crush even the current model GT2 Nissan = Epic win
