  1. can you show us a dyno graph please? looking for boost, AFR and power plot this will help if you max the injectors, the AFR should lean out off the planet, the tuner would have seen that and said holy crapsticks batman and backed off and told you injectors are maxing so i suspect something else is holding it back. how is the dump pipe setup? what exhaust? what cat? what does the tune look like? does it ping/detonate?
  2. the hand controller freezes because it does get enough clock cycles on the bus that the hand controller and datalogit use like i said, ive said it before and others have to, dont use both, use one or the other. even if the PFC hand controller looks frozen its still fighting for updates on the bus and datalogit is doing the same thing, so you are likely to loose samples when logging and driving around. if you are knock logging, unplug the hand controller apexi never designed to it be a multi device BUS, it was always intended as a single device bus point to point datalogit added in the extra hand controller port for convienice reasons only, they should make the box disable the hand controller port when the logging function is active to ensure consistent results but its probably not something they could code/build, its probably a limitation of the PFC bus
  3. yes im a tuner yes you need to take out some timing yes its knocking yes its detonating the PFC FAQ covers how to debug knocking the common causes along with how to troubleshoot it and fix it yourself using the hand controller
  4. your ideas are flawed, both of them its knocking from timing, take out some timing
  5. go see a tuner and ask the same questions
  6. i agree %200 more often than not knock sensors are correct ignoring knock values on the hand controller is a bad idea and is likely to be fatal
  7. it should be tuned the same as a normal ljetro PFC this is covered in a fair bit of detail in the PFC FAQ in my sig
  8. you should note there is a big difference between problem solving skills found in those who know linux and those who know windows linux troubleshooters are typically likely to search, read forums, try their own debugging, user groups, and lots of trial and error in windows a lot of the GUI stuff is closed and you cant get into it so if you get stupid event errors etc then all you can do is search for the event id's and go from there, you cant do a great deal of your own work its only been recently thanks to people like sysinternals where you have things like regmon and file mon etc
  9. 4 grand is wrong for a highflow - bass junky had this issue, he had to bend his actuator rod i think it came on at 2500rpm after that
  10. oh ok sorry - my bad assumption the fix for you is to drive around with datalogit plugged in and hand controller unplugged start logging, then drive around, trash the pants off it, stop logging then view knock map watch and trim some of the cells with high knocking
  11. There are two issues at hand 1) hand controller and datalogit both plugged in at the same time the share the bandwidth and its common for one to miss a value - dont use both, only have one plugged in at a time when logging - OR - 2) on street load is different to a dyno as soon as you get the car and trash it on the street it knocks differently to whats on the dyno i wish workshops would stop doing this its so annoying - its covered in the PFC FAQ the load on the road is different to the dyno so when you punch the crap out of it on the street you touch a few different cells and it knocks - after a dyno tune the car really needs to be taken on the street for a complete 2 and 3rd gear trash run to confirm the timing is ok - so often the car knocks different on the street vs dyno so in summary if you have #2 fix the timing yourself (PFC FAQ tells you how) or take it back and get them to do a road tune
  12. there are some precautions you need to undertake when using the laptop and datalogit the main one is dont use both, dont have the hand controller and datalogit plugged in at the same time they share the bandwidth and fight for clock cycles on the channel so one 1 clock cycle the hand controller may see 120 knock and the engine light will flash and the next clock cycle the datalogit box gets a value and the knock is say 20 i have seen this in the wild, others have to so when logging and using datalogit dont plug in the hand controller the hand controller is a firmware device with its own cpu, its bulletproof
  13. i saw the Red GT40 that james had the other week on collins st this morning
  14. yeah in the small business and even enterprise windows is more common for sure its typically cheaprer to run microsoft products than linux products overall anyway
  15. there are always helpdesk jobs - ball park is 33k
  16. my main gripe with redhat is you dont learn the background lower level workings of linux as its primarily a text based system redhat gives you the GUI fancy front ends to most stuff so you never learn how to compile kernels manually, how to patch kernels manually how to uncompile and build apps including debuggin make errors etc as redhat is all packages and GUIs much the same with X windows front ends you dont learn the behind the scenes stuff if i was teaching a linux course i would run it on a text only linux like slackware, debian etc and skip all the gui junk and go straighr for the hard core stuff in redhat the box just boots and all is ok if something screws you up you run anaconda and stuff and it fixes it for you theres no manual intervention for kernel panics, fixing stuff that doesnt load manally injecting dirvers into the kernel, using things like modprobe and insmod etc sure a lot of these are advanced topics, but thats how i would teach it cos there will come a point where the Gui stuff may not work and if you dont have the GUI front ends you could be lost and stuff with no way out

  18. yeah they work it just uses the old method to read/write so whenever you make a change - it re-writes the whole table, takes about 2 minutes each time cubes has used one before with datalogit
  19. never heard of hills have eyes - might have to check it out and yeah i forgot about saw, it was pretty scray, its definetly up there did you know they filmed the whole of the saw movie in 2 weeks hows that for a quick shoot eh
  20. while adding some more movies to my collection i came across final destination 1,2,3 id have to say that final destination 2 is the most scariest/badass movie i can think of do you have any that fully keep you on the edge
  21. they post it out to you
  22. 2835 is too small for 330rwkw and 2835 is too small for 3 litre
  23. yeah it sounsd like one of the first gen PFC units, which has the slow logging and map update mode it has to write every value each time you change the map - it cant just commit a single value change
  24. nah thats ok 5.xx is fine , at least its ECR33 and so on so does it blank on any screen in SETTING, or just a specific one ?
  25. id say something is wrong then what is in ETC, VERSION ?
