  1. get another ecu youll make money selling the fcon
  2. good meeting - thanks for our special guests for attending the main action points for those on 100Ron tunes; - shell wont sell it anymore, and there wont be a shell replacement - some places have united 100 ron - we are unsure if the same as v power racing - back out timing until you get your car retuned on 98 ron if you put 98 (any 98) in your car and its tuned on 100ron the car will be fine. it wont melt pistons or blow up or throw a rod. it will drive fine and run fine. it will only be at risk if you load it up and trash the crap out of it. if you baby it around with 98 ron it will be fine. so you can do this until you have time to get it retuned. if you insist on loading it up with 98 in the tank back out a lot of timing otherwise it will detonate.
  3. game on
  4. our monthly meetings are there, on the corner of moray and dorcas st our club meeting is on tonight if you want to come its every 3rd tuesday of the month
  5. as per the nissan service manual - and i quote; Swing valve controller inspection - Use the air gun to blow compressed air approx 0.8 ~ 0.9 kgcm2 into the hose and make sure the swing valve controller rod operates. Stop blowing air as soon as the rod operates. So an average of 0.85kgcm2 is 12.08984 psi - so 12psi is stock actuator RB26 is the same but 0.7 to 0.8kgmc2 R33 manual is 385mmhg which is 7.4446 psi R33 auto is 270mmhg which is 5.220 psi
  6. its not a password, its just a tickbox option in the powerfc there is an optional tuner string that you can set, but its not the password you simply plug in datalogit, untick the tickbox and hit update and the tune is unlocked you should notify your tuner that it seems unacceptable to be locked out of your own tune that you paid for after all its your intellectual property that you have paid and purchased - not theirs
  7. datalogit = $500 ish wideband sensor = $500 for a wire in kit, upto $1k for a portable wideband kit the wideband is an absolute must for on road and dyno tuning without it all you can is increase timing and wait for it detonate there is lots of documentation on PFC tuning and datalogit tuning the PFC FAQ covers these items to death, the link is in my signature
  8. knocking (detonation) occurs when the engine is under load from too much timing typically you don't get knocking (detonation) at idle so its not knocking that sounds like bearing knocking - could be big end bearing? dont know enough about engine mechnics but its not timing related knocking
  9. yeah if they goto the level of editing the whole AFM ramp (20 values) then you need datalogit to reapply those i was certain cubes had it working without editing the whole AFM ramp - i could be wrong
  10. to all those interested re DATA-INIT'ing the PFC is fine and perfectly acceptable -BUT you must re-enter the specific settings to make it work for the Rb20 hardware. these settings are specific AFM correction, and injector correction and latency if you enter both of those it should function and run like a normal Rb20 PFC. there are no phyiscal modifications done to the PFC the changes would be done on an in-line loom adapter (typically) the main wire changes are 02 sensor, afm sensor, injector wire flip its easier to do it on a loom adapter such as a boomslang.us adapter that way the PFC is a true RB26 PFC and the loom and settings make it an Rb20 PFC
  11. do note that if you perform a DATA INIT on this PFC it will return to a normal rb26 PFC that is, you will loose the settings that make it work as an Rb20 PFC so the injectors, afm, afm ramp, and maps will go out the window and the base map will be an Rb26 map. it wont idle with rb26 base map settings and will run like a bucket of junk - so if you do DATA INIT the unit, make sure you note these settings down
  12. as the others have said if you cant afford a good one get a stocker replacement but both options have their inherit risks - ie 2nd hand stocker vs new el-cheap/chinese turbo have a read of the ebay link in my signature about buying cheap chinese turbos from ebay
  13. it was answered last time more time searching and reading, less time making new threads its also covered in the PFC FAQ in my signature
  14. its a Bar graph style view as you get more knocking the line will move like this |-------------------| to |||||---------------| and ||||||||||||||||----| make sense? if you press up in the thtat view you will get a digital readout of the same value anything over 60 will make the engine check light flash
  15. err, of course %30 off is great im saying that most shops you can think of have sales on these days check out your local store - check out highpoint, every 2nd shop has %30 off - its great
  16. its an old outdated product, youll probably find it on yahoo jp auctions it gets map sensor in and sends signal out in afm format so in theory, runs map sensor linear scale but in AFM format to the AFM ecu http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=858
  17. hot tip: everywhere are having sales on - its no news flash dude retail has dropped heaps in the last month check out your local retail shop, everything is on sale not just audio at jb hifi
  18. what do you hope to gain by moving to map sensor? you have a few options 1) there is no rb25 Djetro PFC so you need to find an alternate model and modify it to work 2) purchase RB26 Djetro PFC and modify it to run on rb25 (has been done before, its documented how, in the PFC FAQ too) 3) purchase and use a HKS Vein pressure converter 4) purchase a map sensor based ecu
  19. happy 18th birthday - have a good one and all the best take it easy and see you soon
  20. nissan = autobox logic in the main ecu other cars = seperate ecu for auto box so when you remove the std nissan ecu you remove the autobox logic like as tangles said you end up with a car that flares gears on change cos the ecu keeps the ignition timing nailed flat out during a change thats why theres an auto powerfc for toyota the jxz100 has an auto powerfc, tons of options to control the autbox you can set kick back speeds, preloading on the autobox and other cool stuff
  21. dangerman4 (pretty sure thats right) has done it - over 300rwkw with auto setup, search for some of his posts
  22. oh its been broken since the forum upgrade they must have made some changes to apache it should come back soon
  23. forget the bus, train is a no brainer - stick with that for me driving to city and parking there would cost me about $800 a month getting the train to the same destination costs me $105 a month
  24. PT in melbourne has improved a LOT lately try it out and see how you go im on the train after many many years and im impresssed its very reasonable, cheap and vary rarely do they cancel services they have KPI's to adhear to these days so they cant just privatise it and do whatever
  25. for the $ you are spending i would only be dealing with trusted businesses try gcg.com.au and tell them what you are after - ask them whats needed to make the garrett equivs a bolt on setup
