well i do have an auto, but i'm not rushing out to get a manual conversion just to drift (like everyone keeps telling me! - i suppose that's what made me crack in the first place) in the spirit of things i'll have to say 'go team wang!' i'm with you guys... cheers, Waz.
-
is it just me, or is anyone else sick of the crap about drifting?? everywhere i look: drift this, drift that, you like drifting?, i drifted..., blah blah blah sorry, have to bitch about it somewhere... ok yeah its fun throwing the car sideways around a corner every now and then, but seriously... making it a sport?? i mean come on who actually takes their car to a track and drifts? 1 out of every 50 people! i mean i read HPI and like the articles and cars and stuff but this drift is really starting to shit me. Oh and while i'm here, i hate it when people talk about drifting like they do it all the time! BS you do, and if so then you are a hoon and get off my roads! I know i will get flamed for this but what happened to good old racing? i LIKE traction... it makes me go faster! I HATE DRIFT!!!! Waz. PS... I HATE DRIFT! PPS... I have a headache now

What's wrong with my brakes...
WazR32GTSt replied to Remix-'s topic in General Automotive Discussion
i would have thought brake master cylinder is on the way out as i had a similar problem in my old MA70 supra and that was my solution... cheers, Waz. -
have you considered a reconditioned RB30ET from a VL turbo? might not be that much for what you are looking for...

i'd say one thing that it not stocked a lot is accessories. you can gt some at places like autobarn but lets face it they are a rip off! things like: gear knobs, stickers, keyrings, keys, badges, etc. etc. but also have the usual bodykits and mechanical parts it would be perfect if it were the 'ultimate' store where you can go and buy your parts, then your rice and you're done! R32 GTS-T buying help for Newb
WazR32GTSt replied to reelfour's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
mate, i got an auto because of the same reasons: hard to find a manual in good condition. actually i haven't regretted it yet and the auto is lots of fun! if you get it then i would reccommend a transmission cooler, i got one from supercheap for $80 that car sounds ok to me. good luck! Waz. -
Erractic Reving and other misadventures
WazR32GTSt replied to Nizmo's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i had a similar problem with my R32GTSt auto at the lights, engine goes from 800 rpm to 2000 to 400 to 2000 to 400 (about 5 times) then stalls started it up and was fine again  happened again before i got home that night, i thought to myself, 'what the hell could it be?'. i could only think it was some sort of bad reading on a sensor somewhere. I did the following to the car: - ECU diagnostics check (came up all ok) - cleaned AFM (and took off plug and put it back in to make sure there was good contact) - cleaned O2 sensor with brake cleaner (to remove any carbon blocking the probe) - cleaned air filter - cleaned AAC valve with brake cleaner - re-set ECU have since never seen the problem surface its ugly head again! if this is no help to you then my best bet to point the finger at is the AFM. i would try to source a replacement one to try to see if that fixes the problem. hope that helps! Warren. -

I can't fit the front bar on now i installed fmic
WazR32GTSt replied to SKYZER 33's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
ditto for the R32 front bar... i used a cutting tool that attaches to an air compressor. Much like an electric knife for cutting roast i just cut the front bar away in about 2 minutes then put it on all hacked. Can't tell from the front... cut cut cut! -
a FEW issues?? try a LOT of maintenance issues... in the 4-5 months my brother has had his Z32 we have changed: - wiring loom (broken wires due to engine bay heat - took 2 days of solid work!) - about 10 water hoses (leaks everywhere. most hard to get to under plenum) - fan (stocker had about 15 cracks in it! converted to thermo fan...) and be prepared to have to remove the engine to change many seals that leak. they may go fast but they aren't freindly to you... although with what bad luch you have been through, Roy, it doesn't sound all that different to your situation. maybe its just luck? Warren.

hey coco, still have the R32? how your supra coming along? btw... did you get a med interview anywhere?
-
just for the record, the auto runs exactly the same boost as the manual... my auto R32 runs 10-11psi with exhaust, filter, FMIC, rb26 cams and that's without turning the boost up there's just less restriction now. does it 'feel' like there's no boost? what does the stock gauge read? (ignore your new gauge for the moment...)

stock for stock: 3.0L TT so yes its quick in a straight line... its a boat though that drinks like a sponge, handles like you're riding a bull, and stops like the brakes are made of rubber (my bro has an 89 TT) of course these things can be modded to counter that. the R33GTSt handles better, looks better, is more economical, and stops better. Also has more tuning parts availability in oz. check out www.aus300zx.com for info on 300zx times down the quarter etc. if you want. cheers, Waz.

People with slimline plates
WazR32GTSt replied to nmcmahon83's topic in General Automotive Discussion
when i got my car it was already like this, but the plates are bent right at the edges so its the right distance across but its not actually cut so i think it should be ok legality-wise... -
nice work! car? mods? cheers, Waz.

difference in performance with auto?
WazR32GTSt replied to madcabbie's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
skyline gearboxes aren't that dissimilar from the VL so any workshop should have a fair idea of what they're doing... my mechanic changed my auto gearbox oil / filter / gasket with no hassles... -
interesting... what year is the laurel? i'd be interested if you could describe the differences in plugs or whatever you stated in more detail...

Who has fitted a 2wd RB26 in their GTS?
WazR32GTSt replied to bbenny's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
:whackit: and you can run your std rb20 box into the ground while you save for that R33GTSt box... -
i'm assuming it will be pretty similar price wise to the day at selectmaz last month which was $35?
-
here it is... :whackit:
