  1. well it would shorten the length of the pipes a little bit and also solves any problems with pipes rubbing on the fan and rubbing on the bonnet Waz.
  2. i have used 'brake caliper cleaner' many times before on my R32 and my brothers Z32 with no issues... just spray and let it dry and you're laughing...
  3. nice work... what engine you transplanting?
  4. could this be a 'bar and plate' vs. 'tube and fin' issue? my FMIC is 'tube and fin' and i get good airflow to the radiator...
  5. everyone is quoting these times given by nissan and other performance magazines. without giving them a thought... well think about this: when nissan (or a review magazine) does its testing, they have professional drivers that know exactly what rpm to change gears at, and exactly how to take the car off at its optimum level. how many times have manual drivers got that little bit too much wheelspin? or a lot too much wheelspin? or bogged it down with no wheelspin? or chenged gears too late? or too early? take a stock R33GTSt and i mean STOCK and you won't get anywhere near the 6.1 seconds 0-100 quoted by nissan. an auto is much easier to replicate the times as many variables do not exist. its easier to get a good takeoff with a bit of stall, and the gear change points are already worked out. at the end of the day a manual might pull 10kW more on the dyno, but a sh1t driver can ruin that when you are at the quarter... Waz.
  6. thy this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=48061 that's where i got mine from if not, PM the guy who posted up the link and get him to give you more details about where to get it cheers, Waz.
  7. but they are only very tiny (ie 3cm diameter), not wrx style with a 30cm diameter!
  8. are we talking about driving with fog lights on all day (ie volvo-style?) or just at night when your headlights are on anyway? well it seems as though i will get flamed for saying this... but i drive with mine on when its night as the stock r32 headlights SUCK ASS and i need the extra brightness... they aren't yellow though so its not illegal to do so. Waz.
  9. oh, well that's what i voted for but being an R32 that's not what i have. mine is definately dark blue and in direct sunlight is has shades of purple through it ha ha and to think that i was looking for black / white ?!?
  10. get a copy of the workshop manual before you try this mate. I have a copy and the amont of info it has is unbelievable... its too big to post up here but do a search. i saw it in a post and downloaded it from the link given... about 30 meg or so i think. cheers, Waz.
  11. i can confirm that my mechanic bled them when i picked the car up he said to me that he bled the lifters. not sure if he did it because they were noisy with the old cams or that this is a standard protocol for a cam change. either way i am 100% positive that this was done. Waz.
  12. oooh nice why is dark blue and green put together? i have dark blue which is suppost to be the rarest out of the factory (less than 5% of R32's were dark blue apparently)
  13. i'm sure a mechanic who has chamged cams before would know to do this i stress this ain't a DIY job bbenny did you bleed your lifters before the cams went in?
  14. my lifters were also bled before te rb26 cam install...
  15. did you do this yourself?
  16. can i ask how you knew your stock bov was up the shitter?
  17. Jaik: "I" didn't install them, i had them installed by my mechanic. this is not something to play around with at home if you ask me... and the car runs fine no hassles... power increase was good top end but at that stage i had the stock cat-back exhaust on still. Now that i have a 3" cat-back there is so much more midrange torque the cams have really shown their worth now. To use this as a benchmark, 0 - 160 i was 5 carlengths ahead of a manual tx5 turbo which had full exhaust, pod and headwork. and mine is an auto have fixed up a pinging problem i had (timing too far advanced) and keen to get it on the dyno at the next dyno day. Waz.
  18. a plug for ICE: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=49805
  19. well the cams that went into mine were R33 GTR Vspec cams bought from GT51R off these forums...
  20. where are the turbo experts?
  21. g'day mate, I have a set of 6 7MGE injectors out of my old MA70 1987 NA supra (MkIII and aus-delivered), but they are yellow-top injectors not green top like you say. i can guarantee they are 7MGE injectors as i was there when i removed them from the supra! i'm in melb although postage wouldn't be much as they are only very small... let me know if you want pics my email: [email protected] make a reasonable offer and they're yours! cheers, Warren.
  22. just a thought... have you notified the local police of this gathering? i would hate for an officer to roll past then recruit about 5 cars and start defecting people. if they know about it they might leave it alone... Warren.
  23. i'm sure everyone is going to jump on here and bag the auto's down to the ground... but as an auto R32GTSt driver i can say it is still quick in modded form... quicker than a modified manual tx5 turbo that's guaranteed (he he) i am running a trannie cooler though and at $80 tis a worthy investment for your auto. one advantage is that taking off is easier to get it consistently good with the auto as you can actually start spooling the turbo on the line. also with the 'power' button it holds gears to the redline for more fun you would have to be a very good manual driver to consistently get better takeoffs than an auto IN MY OPINION and as its my opinion i reserve the right to post it *ready for the flames!* Waz.
  24. well its not like the water is going to reach lower than ambient temp anyway so its not 'cold' more of 'warm' but its better than hot water me htinks has this been done? what about on race cars?
  25. its gettign to summer and we all know that heat is one of the many enemies that turbochargers have, so i have been thinking of this idea to keep the turbo nice and cool... would it work if i were to tap into the water lines that feed the turbo and run them into some sort of transmission cooler? So that all the water that runs to the turbo runs through the small water cooler and cools nicely and then travels into the turbo to absorb the heat that the turbo has within it. would it work? has it been tried? and most importantly, am i being stupid (again!)? (did a search but couldn't find anything) just an idea... Waz.
