bear in mind for the Aurion you are going to need a panel to put anything in it. eclipse I believe sell them
as for the AVIC - yep its a bit slow but once you have 'played' with it and done the firmware update it moves.
AVN - like them but still a bit costly.
to me its common sense they are different to everyone else for their market what makes you think they would sell a car that is the same as another market. hell the radios in these things differ widely from USDM -> JDM. (says he thats trying to crack the 2005+ versions..)
to be honest I would look more at a GQ patrol key. I put a price up on one of those in the car audio section.
if you have a chassis number I'll look up a replacement key for you and give you the part number
no but the range thing should be more than enough to tell you that the batteries are dead. the dumb remotes do tell you (via a scan tool) battery strength.
I tell customers when the rangee drops on the remote it time to change the batteries and not at the last minute when they are on teh 2nd key and it dies at 3am in the morn... (dont ring me in a panic - I will say I told you so.)
I'm not going to tell you but I will let you work it out. use the remote entry to close the door (close the door catch with a screwdriver) listen for the relays to click. working it manually you will hear one set of relays go. with remote you will hear two sets. find that set.
the button on the window panel locks 3 doors. the drivers handle button is controlled by the keyless module.
manually pushing the drivers handle button locks all doors.
then its going to be fun getting it in the workshop.
I have driven past plenty of police with no plate on the front (trade on rear) and they have not said boo.
no it does not. it will lock the pass door only. pushing the REMOTE button locks both doors. now if you push the lock button in on the drivers door with it OPEN it will unlock the drivers door. safety issue.
someone post a shot of the inner door and I'll do a point and explain.
stephen,
never looked at the FSM for this thing. I dare say its 4 hrs from dry though. (to do a doot lock actuator does take longer - thats a BITCH to do!)
