  1. show me the dash you have. the OE radio will come out and the aftermarket one will bolt in.
  2. if you have teh schematic for that unit - yes please. I have a local schematic for a PN 2371 on the way now. as that sits ( I have been listening to it fo the past 3 hours now) its a IPOD patch that speaks nissan NBUS on the back of a reworked 2098E. for me it wil make a good test/bench radio.
  3. ok results from the PN2098 experiment: IPOD control via radio: FM radio REcal'd proof that its a PN2098E and not something else.
  4. give me your chassis number ECR34-?????? and I'll look it up in fast. nissan is the best palce to get teh key ad the patrol key of the same era *should* fit. you have listed a patrol (Y61) and a navara ute (D22) in your list. Z33 is different.
  5. could be. last time I was there he had a BMW528.
  6. easier way is to put the car on a consult machine. that takes 30 sec to do. also bear in mind the BCM is DIFFERENT across the markets. UK will be different from JDM and USDM so what works for USDM may not work for JDM.
  7. Floor covered - that is in one piece of carpet. I have yet to do the back side between the panels for strength. forward amplifer gets done in the morning. rear was easier to do. white neon sticks- these sit under the amplifer and you do not see them. quite bright as well. underside. the whole lot drops off for servicing from the top box for amplifer. test fitting everything. 4" fans still to go on the right/left side struts need gassing. they would not hold the door up originally, now it needs a prop.
  8. the pigtail of the expander faces teh radio. so its : two pin antenna plug into female socket->BE then back into the radio. only use one set of the leads tape the others back. that dash is easier to pull than the earlier one. drop the centre console off, pull the top long thin trim out on top of the dash and from there pop the shifter plate out remove the two visible screws and unclip the sides and get all those screws. pop the area around the AC display out and get that screw. pop the whole thing out and go.
  9. they are and they are panasonic.
  10. there is. pansonic make one that the chassis is identical apart from the rear of it. only difference I can see from the front is a silver volume knob. yours looks to be a clarion.
  11. nope. they are part of the car. wrecker will have that bit.
  12. yep I'm goign to take a few of them. 2098s I dont mind. prefer if the CD section worked. one I redid today needs a laser I think and that is probably going to kill that unit. would like to get a few of the later ones as the 2098 doesnt like my ipod box. do you have one like in the top pic and if so do you know who made it? (PN2263E is what I'm chasing.) acutally take a pic of it in situ. I have both versions here and I'll know the difference when I see it.
  13. looks good. just as well you didnt do teh back. people that tint the rear windows of cars like this complain of crap radio reception. ( metalised tint halves the reception plastic film does not.)
  14. get a set of buttons and it will - make SURE you get hte harness with it. you will also need the steel navi bracket as well. that looks like a LKQ piece.
  15. but a good one I was looking at the original item you had was was thinking jaycar myself. only issue I saw was resealing it.
  16. ok for those with PN2098E - that one is almost done. new FM front end and a few component changes sorts that side of things out. band change is easy - getting the FM tuner to co-operate in the fun bit. thanks go to 66yostagea!
  17. I would love to see the engineers report on this one. its also a bench seat one..
  18. I sent your question to a mate of mine that works on appointment. if he says yes I'll give you his contact deatils.
  19. floor with holes and plexi panels in place underside. there is black mesh in the rear slots. I'm doing a test fit on this checking things and reseating 6 blind nuts that I had to pull out to flush the mesh into place this is the retaining catch that holds these things shut when the struts are in good condition I have yet to put the retaining straps (at rear) in place.
  20. if it was a balding older fellow that you talked to at boronia then you met adam. he's pretty to the point when it comes to things. go see him again and mention me road trip - yep. I need to sink my teeth into a C34. I do too many M/V35s currently.. more images in a bit. got more done on it today.
  21. of sorts. I dont think they kept the spare. I did. I'll have more images of it tomorrow. going to get some mesh so fill these slots.
  22. yep. theres 4 fans under there. they vent via the rear floor ( there is a set of slots cut towards the rear of the car for the sub to fire through.
  23. nah- just 20 yrs of screwing with this stuff. there are people better than me.
  24. too many chiefs not enough indians I figure. take it to someone and get the thing looked at.
