  1. it is. that said if its the same one as before I'd simply replace it. that makes it easier. the repair itself will be over $200 and for that money you could have a new one.
  2. do you know how much current it pulls at startup? if you do and its under 1A a 7806 on a decent heatsink will do it. if its over 1A then look up current bypassing or high current voltage regulators in google that should net a schematic for it. make sure you fuse the thing with a fast blow fuse and a crowbar diode (google this.) for safety. that will save the camera if hte circuit goes down.
  3. I did a bit of work on a sedan tonight regarding this. for a 2001 v35 I saw (and checked) pass airbag, drv airbag, pretensioners - all checked ok. if there is ANY fault with the system them the light will flash until the fault is cleared. the system checks itself everytime the ign is turned on and started. if there is a serious fault then doing a diagnostic scan on it is the only way to sort it.I had one came back with a short on the drivers air bag. that was due to the thing not being properly plugged in and the contacts on the bag were closed ( they do this as a safety precaution.) temporarily and the system logged a fault.
  4. not really. clarion revised the mech in later applications so it does not do this. bad part about this - new mech will not suit this application. in regard to repairing. I do them - I am working on recalibration of the FM radio now so once that is done I'll start doing more of them.
  5. they have various internal issues. the main one is the nylon guides that splinter and destroy the rest of the mech. on some the switches die others lose a motor (there are 3 that run the thing.) all resulting in a BIG mess. alpine did a similar thing on the 90s the rollers ad the spindle tray would lock a cd into place with heat and you could not get the disc out.
  6. design. they look the same externally but are entirely different internally. the 2098 that I have also has a panasonic version. felix, got message. waiting on more funds before I take yours.
  7. ok now I have a plain one (non bose.)
  8. tied the handbrake cable in yet??
  9. richie, got your PM - been a bit busy to reply. fire me some numbers - I'll advertise with you. btw Dom is a customer of mine - top bloke!
  10. dumb question- did this happen AFTER you changed the stereo?? if so plug the in cabin temp sensor back in. its on the dash panel and the resulting probelm that you have indicates to me that its not connected.
  11. thats fine. what happens if you have a 3pt item that drops everything after 30 sec when you switch the IGN off??
  12. yeah ok. send it to the shop address.
  13. ok I have a BOSE radio now. (thanks Vish!) time to fiddle see HERE for what I have been up to with a normal radio.
  14. nissan 6 cd version or panasonic one? I have a 6 cd MD player currently sitting here.
  15. dead amp. I would say that with out looking at it. I would need to have the car in front of me to diagnose it properly.
  16. I heard another one actually about 2-3 weeks bak when he went hiding. bikie gangs had something to do with it as well. one of the guys I know in ipswich knew a LOT about it before it all came out.
  17. I'll see. I have to call tokyo on monday anyway.
  18. chassis number pls..
  19. ring and ask. easier. I get a LOT of stuff from japan so I *could* get you one but you still have to get it coded to the car.
  20. part number should be: 25570-01U05 pop yours out. that number should be on it somewhere.
  21. they will enforce that rule for other things as well btw...
  22. radio modem usually - back to base.
  23. so you need the switch? - look at import wreckers or nissan - got a chassis number we can work from. that way someone can pop a part number up for you to check price on.
  24. ER34/ECR34 do not have a transponder - Exception is the GTR. that does have one in the key.
  25. that would be about right. 80600M (PN H0564-C9920) is $100ish.
