I work on a LOT of these. you have a laser problem. its a $300 fix though its best to service the entire thing ($650.)as F01 is the next one to pop up.
in regard to getting rid of the lot. is it a bose version ? does it have navi? where are you?
answer those and I'll tell you what you are up for cost wise. ( I keep bits for them here usually.)
forget about the cheap option - nothing is really cheap to modify on this car..
two more panels in that car. one outside in the enginebay and one in the boot. there IS a blown fuse in there.
leon,
depends when the car landed if it has a dimmer of not. if it was done after 2002 then it will not have one.
nah. I have to go past there anyway and whilst there I was going to pop that navi back in.
rumour is there may be a fellow smart enough to clear emmisions on it. (so I have heard this may not be entirely true.)

ring the boronia store (0397398866) and speak to adam. mention me. he will probably call me once he has spoken to you. pricing for the alarm above is based on a C34. M35 is a bit different and takes a bit more time to do properly so the price will reflect that.
ok they are setup like this:
rear buttons feed foward to the BCM in the drivers kickpanel. that units takes the buttons in and fires two relays to control the actuators. those relays are usually up top above your left knee. look up there and check the feeds to them. one of them will fire the hatch and the other fires the glass.
they should be neg trigger on the coils.
tear the drivers sill area down and chase the actuator wires to that point. if you find them then the above holds true. they did a few strange things from what I have seen on these things..
front camera = dealer fitted option. same as the V35.
the system runs a datastream via the tv tuner and the video is looped via the AUX in. the camera system uses reverse and speed to control the system. when reverse is selected the box you found sends data to the TV to switch to REVERSE camera mode and it bypasses everything else.
inregard to your DVD setup that will work fine as you have it setup . the video will drop out depending on the camera selected but audio will remain.
does that answer your question?
regarding the video lockout thats customer added.
they are 6.75" standard. depth wise 100mm is the max.
I'm working on a M35 now and once done I'll pop a few images of it up. the USB location is kinda cool.
take it to stylyn car audio in boronia and speak to adam. mention me. $150 later you will have radio. the converter you have needs 2 more pieces to make things work. adam is capable of doing it.
it is. its not C NET though. N bus is what these things run. the ipod lead is a aftermarket lead. same idea as the EA1251/79 that you have.
regarding navi - ring me.
nope only after those and V35 ones. I'm hacking a carozzerria avic now (with a local unit.) so I may at some stage grab another. dont offer them to me..
a few letters :
toyota - EPC
nissan - FAST.
local dealers like me for some reason. I present them with a parts list of what I want and they give me a pile of parts a few weeks later.
for the average person they tend to get the sh1ts. person comes in and say the have a toyota and want a windscreen for it. not they have this version of car and this chassis so the job is a bit easier.
o brien here in brissy had the sedan screens.
