  1. have you installed an alarm before?
  2. exactly. that means the source needs to be clean as well. the stock clarion (bose) unit HAS line level output. mind you that unit will need a line driver to make it work properly as it has about half the voltage needed to drive an amplifier properly. rear quarters. pass side. if you do have the bose setup in there then you have to work out the EQ curve applied to it and also be aware that the speakers may not be standard impedances. bose use really low impedance speakers in some applications. you are running out of power you know. buy a set of VERY efficent splits and you will hear the difference almost immediately. 6.5" on a custom plate. front and rear doors are the same speaker setup. when doing splits make sure you have a thinish tweeter. that way it fits behind the stock panel. you will have to do a custom mount to keep it in place. put the crossover towards the rear of the door as there is a void there and it fits nicely. I have one I'm working on currently that I'm doing a full setup on and thats the part I'm working on now.
  3. swap the radio out for another one.. that is the part at fault. I do one a month with this fault. last one was an AXIS.
  4. wish you had brought them in when I was down there last. I had the front off the car to do the cruise control. drop the front off when you do it and watch the drivers light as the cruise unit is below it.
  5. so did you pull the battery out and look in that panel? (two fuses lower corner.)
  6. why do people still ASSUME that the USDM keys will work on this car.... give that a miss. the OE key is what needs to be used and really nothing else.
  7. I sell them. thing being you will also need the bose adapting lead so you can retain the amplifier system. its NOT just a panel and controls. the steering controls will be lost as well. the original system comes OUT. the screen can be retained and the screen can be used if you wish. I also make a AUX in lead for that screen as well so you can route the screen audio back through the new clarion radio you have. flick me a PM if you want to take it further. I have this stuff in stock as of now.
  8. contact a broker. iron chef imports would be a start.
  9. clarify pls. if in WA - pay someone.
  10. battery. got the other remote? does it do the same thing?
  11. the nearest autobarn will get will be a VS commodore mast and that is still wrong. as for pulling the unit out. drop the two 10mm nuts behind the trim panel and undo the nut on top (where the antenna is.) and drop the whole lot out. next undo the casing. there will be a round area that the rope feeds into that needs to be split. from there RIP the mast out and get any trash out of it. do not remove the grease. reassemble and refit the whole thing to the car leaving the top nut OFF. from there you will need a mate to control the radio. feed the new mast into the antenna motor until it will not go any further. have your mate turn the radio on. the mast will grind and stop. when it stops turn the radio OFF and the new mast will load itself in. once in put the top nut on and you are done. its a 30 minute exercise at best
  12. my mule has arrived. testing begins in the morn.
  13. navi gets a garmin unit put in. OE screen is retained and the OE DVD rom is retained. DVD into the system can be done easily as well ( they do not play DVD video as standard.)
  14. you have the OE pop up navi system? if so I can probably help. I need your chassis # and model number. auto barn do have ABS plastic - it will look like crap.
  15. have shelf here. yours for the taking.
  16. DON'T. that will stuff the main part of it. pull the mast out and buy a new mast. if you have bent the original one IT CANNOT BE SAVED.
  17. ok so you have the antenna adpater. good. there is a single pin white plug that will be attached to that same lead. chase it back to the wiring you have done. that wire is the antenna amplifier. power that wire up with a blue or blu/wht wire off the radio and it will work.
  18. nissan. take them your chassis # and model number. they can look it up from there. as for removing the old one. pull the entire assembly out first then take a photo of it. from there I'll tell you how to change it.
  19. depends on what you want. I sell them. there are LOTS of other units that are MUCH better. key point as well - the alarm is only as good as the person that installed it. bear that in mind when looking. flick me a PM if you want to chat about alarms.
  20. did you connect the antenna amplifier? that will be 90% of it.
  21. actually the NAV can be fixed. pressing the map button will bring the new system in. I do these for a living. where are you? theres not a lot thats NOT possible with these. I'm working on a cruise setup for these cars as well. it will take the place of the blank silver tabs on the wheel. gauges are volt, boost and oil temp (unsure on the last one - I see more of the integrated dash cars.) as for pulling the 6cd out and popping guages back in - yep VERY doable. the harness is there regardless of the dash fitted.
  22. hit up a compliance shop fr the mirror. shogun at brendale will probably sell you one.
  23. there is. you can change a few things on it but I would really suggest leaving it alone. I have a copy of the users guide here if you want a copy pop past.
  24. neg switching at doors..
  25. what car? if 33 then you can get the mast for them ex nissan easily enough. dont bother swapping the ENTIRE unit out. its a $300 + exercise to do it properly.
