ok. i'll hold off for now until i work out what turbo, if any, i want to upgrade to. nno response from status, so i'll give chasers a call. they're over my side of town anyway. more expensive, but shouldnt need more than an hour on the rollers.
-
thats a real shame..... i'd aproach with similar caution the 260RS on ebay that is selling for 14k.....
-
ok cool, bellmouth dump from where? and will it fit an aftermarket turbo? like a GT3037 or a tr34?
-
yeh i dont think this one fits. it fits S1 stageas but not S2?? someone correct me if i'm wrong? wouldnt have a huge effect on the tune, if anything it would result in boost coming on earlier in the rev range which might cause a lean out down low, but it would be unlikely and really only an issue if it was tuned on knife edge....which it won't be. for the amount of hassle it's worth in terms of removing and replacing, i'd be more inclined to just leave it..... waiting on a call back from chequered/status.

sorry my mistake, i already have a front pipe - i meant a split dump pipe off the turbo. from what i've read its hard to a split dump that fits - the standard rb25 items foul on something? and stock pump appears to support 250kw easily, and seeing as the turbo will throw a wheel long before then - no real point in upgrading it if/until i upgrade the turbo.

hey guys, my car had an emanage ultimate in it before i bought it - it has been tuned to suit the car - but there was a missfire occuring that was put down to a faulty injector signal adapter (greddy part that is necessary for the Neo). so the previous owner took it out (plus i think he was being cautious for getting the RWC). due to the fact that my fuel consumption is about 350L to a tank, and i can see fuel pouring out the exhaust on boost in third, i'm thinking reinstalling the emanage might get me some better AFR's and more power (previously dyno'd at 206rwkw with the emanage ultimate installed). it should be a simple matter of plugging in the comp again with the inj adapter as the tune is already on the emanage, but i will probably get trent at status run it up on the dyno just to be safe. the only thing that has been changed on the car since pulling it out is the EBC settings as it was spiking and hitting boost cut on WOT. so i'm thinking, if i'm paying for dyno time and potential altering of the map - should i consider - installing an 040 with 12v mod (Does anyone know of bosch 023 fits in tank?) - installing front pipe (if i can find one to fit!) car is stock turbo, gizzmo EBC, FMIC and 3". dont plan on changing the turbo any time soon, so given that 12psi is going to be my restriction, is it worth upgrading the pump or front pipe? or just tune it as is and do it down the track if i upgrade the turbo? thanks for your help!

For Sale Or Swap: Axis Hiro 19X8.5 +20
SMOKEYV35 replied to SMOKEYV35's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
depends if you want them with tyres, or as rims only? would need a week to arrange purchase and delivery of new wheels i'd say....would just require a deposite, and then i can bring them to you, and remainder of cash upon delivery. dish isn't anything special - the 9.5's have more. but they clear R33 calipers, so i think that was the main reason for purchase (they were on the car when i bought it, i prefer more factory style wheels hence sale/swap). -
I have a set of Axis Hiro wheels in gunmetal grey with polished lip. Looking to swap for R34 GT-R rims only (must be good condition, minimal rash, with 4 centre caps). Cash adjustment possible. OR Will sell without tyres for $750 SPECS: 19X8.5 +20 19/235/35 ZR Kumho Ecsta SP tyres, 80% 99% condition, only some very light rash on one wheel, other than that they look brand new. Have purchase receipts. sits flush on the front, about 15mm in on the rear but thats only because mine is manual with a narrower rear track, autos would be flush. Wheels located in Southbank, Melbourne. Needs to be a direct swap or a transition period as I dont have stock wheels to roll on, but have replacements lined up when the time comes. C34 Dayz Driving Lights - Bulb Size
SMOKEYV35 replied to SMOKEYV35's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
ah feck. so i'm figuring it must be some sort of relay trigger wire, or it's an earth so that when you hit the switch for the lower fogs, the orange fogs cut out. any ideas how i'm going to work this one out???? -
i'm trying to sell my rims so i can get a set of these: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BB5-LM-BBS-STYLE-19-INCH-BMW-VW-AUDI-ALFA-NISSAN-TOYOTA-/270698021749?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f06dc0375 cheap knockoff's - yes, but i'll never be able to justify the cost of genuine LM's and nevvvvver in 19 inch. these come in 19x9.5 +20, which should sit nice. otherwise i'll just keep my axis hiro's 19x8.5 +28 and space them out, because they look rather weak. question though, can i use a 20mm on the front and a 25mm on the back? or do they have to be the same all round to avoid upsetting the ATTESSA?

hmm, i just want to get a set of eyelids painted, and then a couple of paint chips touched up. not sure if its going to cost a fortune to mix up such a small amount. thanks for the info though, guess i better go see my panel guy.

Post A Pic Of Your Stagea Thread
SMOKEYV35 replied to CruiseLiner's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
4bidn1, any info on your LED DRL's?? i've had hit and miss experience with the cheap ebay ones, not sure i want to fork out on the super expensive hella dayline's... -
hey guys - need some touch up paint for my C34 S2 in Pearl White. has anyone had any success with getting pressure packs made up to suit this colour? or does it require a special application method? just need to touch up a couple of stone chips, some flaking paint on the side skirt etc. failing that does anyone know the paint code or where i can find it? cheers.
-
looks boss on those reggamasters - should get an S2 light upgrade for the rear, but other than that is perrrrfect.
-
19s or bust. 18s look too small IMHO. check out M I K E 's car, he has fitted the bigges possible rims with the lowest offsets under his RS-V, so that'd be where i'd look.
-
what about down to portsea or somewhere - thinking a place with good locations for pics should be considered. cruise to barwon heads - down the geelong freeway? just throwing ideas in the air. i'd like to commit to coming but i can't even organise myself a day at a time.....
-
yeh, i can give that a go mick. but if it got in there once, it'll get in there again so there must be a break in the seal. i have had success with heating the oven to 200 deg, switching it off, throwing the housing in and pulling it out 10 mins later - they seperate pretty easy. Chris - the wiring is plenty long enough. it actually runs off the back of the fog lights in the front bar, so you will have even more excess than you used to, and it's all covered in plastic tubing so nice and sturdy. and i wrote 'no degree' bracket, but i meant '90 degree'.
-
sorry mick - my job isn't exactly 9-5....its more like 8am till whenever deadlines are met, and i was getting slammed. i could have got there in a dirty car, but i was so tired and zonked out i decided not to. i've been on enough cruises to know you need to be switched on - the last thing i wanted to do was have a lapse in concentration and damage another club members car. will try get to the stagea cruise tho!

Stagea C34 Roof Racks
SMOKEYV35 replied to Global_Warmer's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
get in touch with this guy? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/348907-wtb-99-c34-stagea-aftermarket-roof-racks/ -
probably should have just posted in that thread rather than creating a new one, but anyway. i did it 2 weekends ago. it was a day of trial and error but basically you need to take the brackets off the back of the lights and rotate them 90 degrees so that the mounting points are on the side, and no longer on the top. then i got a no degree bracket, mounted one edge to the driving light bracket, and the other edge to the underside of the metal reinforcement bar for the front bar. it is a tight fit, but it's doable. and you will need to do some trimming of the rear of the light housing and the metal brackets with an angle grinder. you will need to jack the front of the car up as high as you can go, remove the plastic undertrays and splash gaurds so you have access to the are - be prepared to spend a day on your back looking upwards! there are probably better methods that allow more adjustability - but given the space restrictions, this was the best option for me. the first light took me most of the day, but the second one took me about an hour. so as i said, a sh1tload of trial and error - there is no 'easy' way or template to use. things to be careful of are: - measure 3 times, cut once. - you will need to take out the mesh in the side vents - and either leave it out, or cut it to re-fit. i tried cutting it with an angle grinder but the paint is plasticized and it melted on the edges and looked ratty - so going to get some mesh from supercheap instead. i have to take one of the lights off to seperate and reseal as it has condensation in it - so when i do that i'll try take pics. but beyond that, good luck with it! (ps. it looks awesome, you'll be happy with the end result if you persevere. i nearly threw the towel in a few times, but happy i didnt)

Improving Stagea Fuel Economy/consumption
SMOKEYV35 replied to 910trx's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
could always try a shift kit to try and stop the auto being so flarey on the torque converter? another cheap option is CAI? turbo engines love cold air - but i guess its not going to help a great deal in stop start. but i guess the others are right. unless you're chasing power, you mayswell just spread that 1000 dollars across the life of the car and subsidise your petrol with it. -
Improving Stagea Fuel Economy/consumption
SMOKEYV35 replied to 910trx's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
yeh - i return similar figures. i drive city/freeway combination of about 40km's a day - i get about 450km's per tank of 98. GReddy FMIC, 3" Fujitsubo, Pod filter, EBC set to 12psi. mine is manual too though, which helps fuel economy. i'm going to get my eManage ultimate thrown back in, but only because i see it pour fuel out on full boost (R&R over 10psi). it might lean it out a touch and tidy up the fuel a bit, but i doubt you'd see a significant improvement in economy. if i were you i'd just spend the money on things like 02 sensor, clean your AFM, do your plugs and coil packs etc. that way you know the car is running as cleanly as possible - and that stuff is all general maintenance which your car will appreciate. you look after it, and it will look after you! thats my motto!
