  1. Mine are looking kinda dull too, might be time to give mine a new lick of paint too. However i'll wait for some responses to this question before i bother facing the heat outside and giving it a shot
  2. No, you've seen pleanty of odomoters with less then 100k, you havent seen many R32's under 100k on the engine.
  3. His father's a lawyer and he informed him it would be ok for him to drive it home, thats why he did it.
  4. ^ They're rare as, every time you mention it i search on ebay and i can never spot one.... wanna sell me yours haha
  5. Young grasshopper, "life" at the age of 17 or under is not living my friend... You're sitting idle, waiting for 18 when you are granted freedom.
  6. ^ It's gonna be the slowest 6 months of your life. You'll do it again when your 6 months away from being 18... and shit, that will go just as slow. Ahhh being 17 truely did suck
  7. Well thats the idea isnt it... the cooler and more humid the air, the lower the induction temperatures right? Thats a broad statement but thats the rough idea yes?
  8. The motor's shagged, get a compression test and leakdown test done and see what conditions she's in... Might be time to start saving for a rebuild. Correct me if im wrong but isnt this the car that recorded a 190rwkw on the dyno, and this year its down to 104rwkw... ouchie.
  9. Ohh, you'd be suprised. We've had some funny defects. One of my mates was arrested after being issued with an "unsafe vehicle defect" for bald tires.. he chose to drive home (less then a kilometer). Ahhh good times. One cop in particular humours us when he tells us our skylines have nothing on a commodore and how we really dont need an exhaust that large and its only use would be to climb into the car through the exhaust if we lock the keys inside. He even told us that a large exhaust will give us less power as we wont have back pressure. He really knows a lot about turbo cars. HA!
  10. Tell you mate to just stick with the SAFC, does the same job really. If the ecu is picking up knock it will retard timing. The knock sensor does give you something to look at when your sitting at the lights, watching it slowly creep, nowhere near dangerous however... but thats about all it does for me. That is ofcourse if the warfies and sneaky boat people dont steal the safc outa the car on its way over from japan...
  11. Holy shit.... thats crazy....
  12. Wouldnt more vacuum mean theres greater flow past the Air flow meter? I dont have a clue when it comes to this, just making wild guesses
  13. I've always wondered, is it best to cruise with more vacuum (closer to -7) then it is to cruise closer to 0... Will more fuel be consumed under less vacuum? Just been wondering that for a while... anyone?
  14. I can now see why your engine has 104rwkw....
  15. Haha got those in mine too, how old do they look! Woulda looked good as carpet in the 80's...
  16. Actually i'm in a good mood right now so ive taken the time to scan the dyno graph i got today before and after the simple mod was done. Mind you, before the mod i had a single line running from the intake line to the turbo actuator... The Green line is before the mod, the blue line is after the mod. The red line is before the safcII was tuned, but thats another story. This graph is torque: This graph is boost pressure: Just do it!
  17. Do it man, do it! Massive gains down low, you'll love your car after you've done it.
  18. ^ That was the same for my skyline. The RTA change the rules so many times a year that the dudes cant keep up. The guy who i finally got to pass mine was 100% sure he couldnt touch imports as a letter came to him a few months prior saying they could no longer pass imports. I assured him he could do it as i had been told by a number of other inspection stations. He rang the RTA and sure enough they told him it was fine... Take it somewhere and ask.
  19. Vinyls - HAHAHAHAHA! Sorry about that. If the cars non turbo dont modify it at all. Just wait till you get sick of it then sell it and buy a turbo version. If you waste all your money now on a non turbo, you'll regret it later. Write that down.
  20. I would assume he's looking for a friend... I have a white mspec bar, its got a bit cut out for greater intercooler flow... may part with it for the right price... PM me. Justin
  21. Go to an inspection station and ask them. They can tell you. They will ring the RTA on behalf of you to find out if they can pass you but wont give away details to the RTA if you dont want them to.
  22. Even with an engineers certificate the cop can defect you and tell you that the only way to clear it is to go to the RTA station. Thats when you can use the certificate as the RTA guys are able to interpret the certificate. How very annoying.
  23. Australian Used car salesmen at Holden also know how to wind car odometres back. You get what you get. Thats the case with any used car, imported or otherwise.
  24. ^ i thought a sealed battery meant it was in a sealed enclosure? I dunno. Damn dickson with their bitching about stickers. "unleaded only" pffft who's gonna put deisel in their skyline. pfft.
  25. Call some and find out....
